please pardon me for a near-double post, but i thought it important.

it should be noted that Dax Milne, currently #5 in the nation with 550 receiving yards (including 4 touchdowns on 33 catches), is a former walk-on.

Hudson Clark, the reigning Jim Thorpe national defensive back of the week award winner after his 3-interception game, is also a (now-former-as-of-January) walk-on.

other than being obviously talented and “somehow” overlooked, these two statistical impossibilities have another similarity: they’ve both managed to overcome the Caste System’s barriers for athletes of their melanin-deficient status.

one would think a reporter looking to gain notoriety would take up the challenge of reporting on this anomaly ...

Tucker Gregg was also a walk on at Georgia State in 2018 before being offered a scholarship prior to the 2019 season.

Hudson Clark went to Highland Park in Dallas which plays at the highest level in Texas and regularly has highly rated recruits. But a 6’2” All-State CB who played varsity all 4 years and also starred in basketball can’t get a scholarship... hmm. I guarantee if Clark was black he would’ve been a top 100 recruit coming out of HS. It’s probably a good thing he wasn’t recruited because he likely would’ve been recruited at WR or S instead of his true position.

I guarantee you are right ! If only some program had the cajones to offer these "walk-ons". They'd be a perennial Top25 program!

Yea @Shadowlight brought it up as Haurbaugh screwed him over for a black quarterback. I hope Michigan loses every game this year. Haurbaugh has shown himself to be a caste cuck of the highest order.

Wisconsin redshirt freshman QB Graham Mertz (illness) has tested positive for COVID-19.

Mertz (6'2/215) tested positive via the daily rapid antigen tests. Per Big Ten rules, Mertz will now take a PCR nasal swab test to confirm the initial positive test. The university is now waiting for the results of the more comprehensive test which usually takes a day or so to process. Should the initial diagnosis be confirmed, the redshirt freshman signal caller will be forced to abstain from practice and games for a period of 21 days according to Big Ten conference protocols. If the positive test is indeed confirmed, Mertz would miss upcoming games against Nebraska, Purdue and Michigan.

CSU / New Mexico game canned due to COVID concerns (by order of New Mexico public health dept). I think this may be the first one due to no cases on either team but “prevalence in the county” where the Lobos play. Oy Vey

It's easy to get lost in the sea of tyrannical governors who have been taking advantage of COVID-19 to seize more power for themselves and act like petty fiefdom lords, but New Mexico's is right up there with the worst of them.

So a healthy 19-20yr old who just had the game of his life is now sidelined due to "Covid" unreal. LOL. Graham Mertz in quarantine for an over exaggerated flu..

So Wisconsin is on to it's 3rd QB, Redshirt Sophomore Chase Wolf. Wisconsin snagged him from a Cincinnati HS a few seasons ago and I'm glad he didn't enter transfer market as I initially thought he'd test. Walk-on Danny Vandenboom will be his backup.

I heard Wolf is getting the quarantine blues now too.

21 day quarantine is absurd.

James Skalski Clemson's starting linebacker will miss several games due to groin surgery. Jake Venables will take his place in the lineup. Also, Trevor Lawerence said it possible that he will return next year.

Wisconsin - Nebraska cancelled for beer flu sniffles reasons

LOL pathetic. This season is a **** show. Big Ten might as well just fold, already "Covid" complications 2nd week of their already pushed back season. As long as Ohio State is okay so they can attempt to qualify for a playoff spot..

Last sentence is total truth. I think it’s ridiculous that any big ten team is ranked right now after 1 game while other conferences have played 5-6 games. A perfect example of the system being rigged. Also for the big ten to play 8 games but be considered for the playoff is an equally questionable decision (same with the pac 12).

Edit: actually your whole post it total truth @Bucky

Yeah my patience is waning with this Covid BS still going strong after 7months. The powers at be have already colossally screwed this whole year. Sorry for the rant..

I also agree 8 game teams should not be eligible. Perhaps if they were that concerned in having a team represented, AA hire Kevin Warren would have started the season 3 weeks ahead of when he did.

The thinking was the Big Ten by coming in later would avoid cancellations and such. Well that story has left the barn already. All that tip toe through the tulips approach goes out the window in a flash. Crap out of all the games. Why couldn't it have been Minnesota and Maryland?

Each week I write down the games and the times and put little notations on priority games to watch and Nebraska and Wisconsin was one of them. The only solace is there are good games up and down the day on every time slot this week so I will have other games to watch. Nebraska game was scheduled for 3:30 but there are some other good games in that time slot. Including my primary game which will be of course Northwestern and Iowa on ESPN.

I agree Warren should have given the league some breathing room. He cut it so tight they can't make up games. Bad move.

I said it at the time. That the Big Ten started two weeks too late. They needed a buffer week or two just in case games got postponed. But hell no. Warren put in a no breathing space schedule and the result now is a total mess. Total idiot.

Nebraska is the biggest loser here. They tried to set up a game with Chattanooga ( both sides agreed ) this Saturday to make up for their lost game with Wisconsin and guess what? Warren and his henchmen said no. UTC just played and all of their players are clean as are the Nebraska players. I didn't have a huge problem with the Big Ten waiting a spell to get all their ducks in a row to start the season. But Warren sabotaged himself by putting out a schedule with not one ounce of wiggle room and now he won't improvise to allow an innocent team to have a complete season. He has to go.

Ole Miss is 1-4. Plumlee is barely playing. So far Kiffin's master plan has been a massive failure.
