Two QBs enter the transfer portal. O'Hara is a dynamic dual threat QB who has been hampered by the supporting cast at MTSU. Gunnell certainly looked the part last year when he played, this year the Wildcats were a complete disaster. They are both players to keep an eye out for.
Middle Tennessee redshirt junior QB Asher O'Hara has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
O'Hara started for two years at MTSU, so seeing him bolt now is a bit of a surprise. At 6-foot and 185 pounds, O'Hara is a bit small for the position, but that has yet to stop him. In his two seasons, O'Hara threw for over 4,500 yards while tossing 32 touchdowns to 16 interceptions. He is a quality passer as much as he is a valuable rusher, too. O'Hara ran for about 1,600 yards and 16 touchdowns over the past two seasons. It's unclear if O'Hara will need to sit due to transfer rules.
Arizona sophomore QB Grant Gunnell entered the transfer portal.
Let the post-Sumlin exodus begin in Arizona, as Gunnell (6'6/225) was a highly touted four-star recruit from the 2019 class who started right out of the gate. His loss leaves the Wildcats in dire straights at the quarterback position, as the sophomore signal caller completed 66 percent of his passes with a 15-to-3 ratio in his two abbreviated seasons at the helm of the U of A offense. Will Plummer takes over as the de-facto starter, though he will assuredly be challenged in spring camp considering he threw three interceptions to zero touchdowns in 80 pass attempts this season.
