Then we talk about Lemaitre, that we here love him.
If he improve his start and his tecnique 9.8x is very possible.

lost i like very much Lemaitre, but i think that if somebody like Lemaitre that does not mean that you hate to Bolt.
I like athletics, Lemaitre, Bolt or Gay too.
Tell that only Lemaitre is good and that the others no because they are in doping, i dont understand.

Lemaitre is the best white runner in this moment and i hope that soon he is in the final 100 m by example in Daegu 2011.

As with all forums we get our share of keyboard racists... read through the posts, they are not hard to spot. White supremacists, people who think everyone should embrace our culture(s) as superior, who are fearful of blacks (racism is usually born of fearfulness and the paranoid feeling of demarginalisation...) etc who know jack about Track but who see this forum as an acceptable place to drain their pent up venom and spite.

Bolt is the greatest sprinter to have ever put on spikes.
Don't care where he comes from, what colour or religion he may be. If he gets caught later it'll be a shame, but, really, no-one should talk badly of people till there's proof.
I think his prodigious talent as a kid speaks loudly enough to give him the benefit of any doubts.

Similar to Lemaitre really. His early performances after starting sprinting at just 15 showed unusual talent and now when he's turning into a man he has shown himself to be simply the fastest white sprinter there's ever been. I can see why people have already said to me he must be on drugs (and I give them a mouthful).

Guys the need for paranoia for this new poster is probably a false radar. I think he is using a universal translator to write English. In Spanish sentences are arranged differently. So he isn't typing like he is faking grammar errors so that he can pass as a foreigner(in my opinion). So far the only complaint I have for Lemaitre is needs get a haircut and needs to get rid of his John Holmes moustache..

I've been reading the posts from the previous few days and looking at the video links posted. I think what we are witnessing here is a monumental athlete. He is able to achieve world class success with a form that is, quite frankly, God Awful! His starts are terrible in reaction and form, his drive pase is choppy and unrhythmic, and his posture is slouching, also notice his bobbing head (both vertically and laterally) he almost looked like he couldn't negotiate the turn in the deuce. I think it was stated earlier,very accurately, it has been a long season which is probably causing some fatigue and exagerration of these foibles, and I give him plenty of kudos for his seasonal endurance so soon after just being on the juniors circuit, but again his form is atrocious. I make this criticism knowing full well that it is ultimately a great compliment because it just means there is plenty of room for improvement which I am coming to expect from this young man.

I read in this thread that US media didin't refer to CL as "the first white man...". I just read here on CNN website this: "Lemaitre, the first white man to break the 10-second barrier over 100 meters last month,".
So may be things are finally changing the right way in your country.

I checked the result for 100m and 200 m on the diamond ligue website . Running at his best, CL would rank 3 to 5. If he runs the diamond ligue next year, I think that this will be his ranking (which is intersting when 20/21). And in 2012, if he keeps progreessing that way, he might rank 2 to 4.

for London2012, there is a space for a medal (probably rank 3).

mastermulti im with you, and we should support to Lemaitre, that im sure that few to few he will get great marks, 9.8x in several years and sub20 since that he improve his curve.

Everyone has got his or her own opinion; as with most communities -- Internet or otherwise -- there are individuals that span the entire spectrum of political, ideological, and or social and cultural viewpoints. At one extreme there are unilateral, bombastic Neo-Nazi types, on the other there are apologists exhibiting a cloying aura of moral, liberal self-righteousness. Trolls abound on either extreme and it is up to the individual (as it always is) to decide for himself which end represents the "bottom".

Some may consider themselves "moderate" in their approach to race, and there's nothing wrong with that -- what is inappropriate it my opinion is putting any other intelligent man's opinion on blast. Everyone has come from a different life experience, and since [I'm assuming] we're all adults we've all got good reason to explain the beliefs we hold. As in, if we hate, we don't hate for no reason, and if we promote ideas more liberal in nature, we have good reason for that, too.

The above obviously applies to those on the board who consistently put forth their opinion in an intelligent manner that doesn't devolve into name-calling or other such immaturity. This latter behavior deservedly gets dismissed as "trolling".

However, I don't think there's anything wrong with considering the White race superior. If I didn't think the White race was superior I'd have little reason for even being on this site. I'd find no reason to defend Whites who face discrimination in all its forms (sport, politics, etc.). I'd have no reason to express disgust and outrage at examples of Whites being belittled, mocked, and otherwise marginalized in sports, the media and elsewhere -- when they do not deserve to be.

There's a difference between believing in White equality and White supremacy, and when I say White supremacy I don't mean in the Hollywood version where White supremacists salute Hitler and rove in packs to commit violent acts on Korean shopkeepers or homeless Black men. Equality means that I can look at the Black race or at Latinos and think that their achievements as a race and a culture equal those of Caucasians. I don't think so. In that regard I find the White race superior. Just my opinion, maybe others share it, but if others don't well that's their right.

Just because I believe in White superiority does not mean that I think other races have no right to live, be happy, have families, and pursue their goals. However -- if ANY of those things somehow hurt the White race... As in, they get the job over a better-qualified White, they take advantage of White altruism, they get overrepresented in the media and call people who share my pigmentation and Cultural background evil, "racist", and all the things that they themselves represent to even greater extremes... If they change my White history to turn me into a villain and themselves into heroes, and teach that to my kids... Well then I've got a problem with that.

Anyway, there's also nothing wrong with opining that Bolt is on drugs. Maybe he isn't, but assuming that he is, considering all the other shady things happening in the sprinting world -- especially among those who not only defeat world records, but completely smash them -- is not crazy or paranoid. I happen to think Bolt is juiced. I think he's a talented sprinter, but I also think he's cheating. To think so is not crazy or paranoid, considering piss-poor Jamaica is suddenly producing such phenomenal talents and crushing sprint superpowers like the USA.

It's not like the gradual emergence of Kenyan or Ethiopian distance running. The East Africans did not develop this prowess overnight, and their eventual rise to primacy as elite longrunners is explainable through their lifestyles, running culture, and environment that is conducive to producing champions. Note how Whites who train among Kenyans and live as they do gradually produce competitive times in long races.

I don't personally believe that American sprinters can learn anything regarding technique from Jamaicans, other than where and when to stick the needle. Maybe Bolt is innocent of all this -- and maybe he's just a once-in-a-many-generations talent -- but to think that he's in the needle club is not crazy idea, considering his company.

As for whether it is the culture or the genes I don't believe you can seperate them as the genes are developed in accordance with the culture through environment and the "hand of God". Any attempt to seperate them is just an excuse to discredit the whole idea.

You know, these comments from Borzov aren't too far off the mark:

He's young and he's strong but I'm a little skeptical," Borzov said before Sunday's 4x100 race. "He needs to get to 9.60 (seconds) and it's not possible now, maybe only in a few years. I'm not sure he can compete with the Americans or Jamaicans."

So, unless I'm misreading, he's basically stating that CLM has a ways to go before he can compete with the top talent in the world, and this is what we've been saying here all along as well. For me, I'll continue to measure his time and progress against Yohan Blake, since that's a far more apt comparison. Bolt, Powell, and Gay are in their absolute peak now, and in a league of their own. CLM should be there himself in 2-3 years time.

Clearly, he's not ready to run sub 9.90 this year, but I do see a new personal best before the year is over. Something in the low to mid 9.90s is very much in the cards.

Lemaitre just turned 20 1 month ago. His form is not great. He has a terrible start. He has a rather skinny and boyish upper body.... Yes, Yohan blake is faster, yet, Yohan blake got busted for stimulants, yohan blake also has the build of a full adult male and very thick muscular torso. Comparing two guys who at same age - where one clearly (blake) hit puberty earlier, maybe naturally, possibly through a jamaican medicine man - is not being as fair as it may seem...lemaitre is at 55% of his potential. Mark my words, he will improve much more than what people expect and it shows in Lemaitre's confidence; he knows he will be one of the top elite.
