One last thing on his 100 win in the semifinals. Lemaitre ran a 10.06 with a negative -1.2 wind. To put that into perspective, if you turn the wind around and it was +1.2 he runs a 9.96! Also if he had a stronger wind like up to a 2.0 he is in the very low 9.92 range. Even with no wind he would have went 9.99 so it was a great race.

Now onto tommorow. There is still work to be done. He needs to win the 200. If he wants to be remembered with the likes of Morrow, Mennea, Borzov and Wells, he needs to win championships at both distances. I know I'm being hard on the guy since he is only 20 but you don't get these chances very often. That being said, he will get it done.

Lemaitre just needs to run that turn well. The weather has been so bad for the sprints. Negative winds constantly and even the rain & cold today. Let's hope for some good conditions tommorow. If not we are going to see slow times again and it won't be the sprinters faults. Mother Nature needs to cooperate. Please let it be sunny.

Time for PepeLeFlew to get some more hardware! Let's go Christophe!

I'm a litte excited about another young sprinter here. Taskonas from Greece is only 19 years of age. He will turn 20 on August 3rd but for him to already be at this level is a good sign for the future. It canonly help his confidence. If he keeps getting faster we will have to nickname him"Greece Lightning".
It's a shame about the bad weather. The times would be even faster which makes the events more exciting.

Let's just keep our fingers crossed. Maybe we will be lucky for a change. I know one thing. Rain or Shine it's Lemaitre Time!Edited by: white lightning

You know, I've been thinking, and maybe we're making too much of CLM's times. After all, for the most part (except that 100m final yesterday), he's always being chased by a bunch of blacks. Anyone would be running plenty fast in that scenario.

Thank you for posting that bk21. He is an inspiration to all of us to stride to be the best we can be. He simply has the desire to be the best in the world. He is like a Bill Gates of the Sprints. He will not stop at anything to reach his goals. It's very rare to see a person let alone a sprinter that is so driven! It is very exciting. We will talk about his career for many, many decades from now. Trust me. Christophe Lemaitre is that good! We may just look back many years from now and come to the revalation that Christophe is one of the best sprinters to ever live. I'm not joking when I say this. He is that good!

I wanted to bring up something else, let me know your thoughts WL.

After the Paris race two weeks ago when Lemaitre did not do as well as we hoped, several folks, including myself indicated that he needs to bulk up in order to compete with the Bolts and Powells of the world. The idea is that this will help him with his two weak areas, starts and overall technique.

But having watched him in the Euro Championships so far, I'm now having some seconds thoughts. He still needs to hit the weights, but it needs to happen in an orderly manner, and over a number of years. 6'3/190 may look good on paper, but he may not need it. At his current listed weight of 160lb, 30lbs extra might be too much.

Putting on quality muscle is hard work, anyway. So, perhaps, he can add about 10lbs for 2011 and race at about 170 next year. Then, he can hopefully hit 175-180 by 2012, and that can then be his weight for the next 10 or so years to compete.

Good on Lemaitre. It is important for all racially conscious white men to support our white brothers when they take the athletic field. All other races support their own first and foremost. We must do the same. A bit off topic, my daughter is a huge Wladimir Klitschko fan. She enjoys boxing and always brags about how her mom is Serbian and the heavyweight Champion of the world in Ukrainian. Therfor, they are like distant cousins. LOL!!!

Now, I am somewhat familiar with European history. That being said, I fully understand that the Ukrainians and Serbians are in some ways different. They have different histories and to a extent a different culture (while the similarities far outweigh the differences). But it is not the differences I highlight. It is the sameness. A extended family of European brothers and sisters that I allow her to take pride in. And in my humble opinion, this "Ethnic Pride" is very important for our children to feel. I draw a distinct line between being hate filled and racist, and being proud about your ancestors.

Let me state categorically that I teach my children that it is wrong to hate people based of off skin color. However, I raise my children with a mutual understanding that they share a special history, a special culture, a special heritage, and arguably the most important.........a special bloodline that they should forever honor, respect, and take pride in and place above those of "other" groups.

No matter how many years pass, no matter how many marxist professors she has. She will always remember Wladimr Klitschko, the baddest man on the Planet. (I know, I love Fedor and Brock as well)

I agree with you totally. You don't have to be racist to be racially aware. All of the other races are and they should be. Anyone of european ancestry should also stick together. You can love your own race with out hating other races. It's all about pride in your ancestry. Whites need to wake up world wide before it's too late. Protect your family and your people/nation.

I like that. It is as it should be when speaking of one's own younger countryman and kin.

Thanks for that post. What a great set of photos.
Did everyone read where (French friends, correct me if I'm wrong here) American scouts are lining up with their cards at the end of the straights (I presume for U.S. colleges).
If this is so maybe we could discuss this.

after his race, Stephane Diagana former world champion athlete, now counselor at the french TV, responded to a question about the working out that his upper body needs; he referred to a former australian sprinter (I didn't catch up his name) who did something like 10.03 or .04 while he was skinny, and he afterwards started to make a physique Maurice Green's-like, he never made that chrono again in his whole carreer. he than added: Christophe Lemaître has to respect his original body shape, improving step by step his musculature, and controlling his performances.. I think tha makes sense

That can only be Matt Shirvington, but it doesn't stack up. He was muscular and well developed from when I first saw him at 18.

Here he is fully grown. Muscular but not over the top.

Matt Shirvington 10.03 (-0.2)

here he is at 19, 4th place 10.03 (-0.2)

I don't think Christophe should try for bulk. Get ever stronger but don't try to bulk up when you have a naturally slim frame.
In general, lifting really big weights for small numbers of reps should make him strong but not overly bulky. Edited by: mastermulti

he shouldn't bulk up at all. he needs to put on muscle naturally as he gets older. 8-10 pounds of solid muscle over the next 3-5 years. too much muscle to fast leads to pulls and tares. right now he needs to work on his reaction to the gun and his overall sprint mechanics. he seems to be doing to much weaving during his drive phase. the kids is raw and can only get better!

It's too bad about Matt Shirvington. I really think he could have gone under 10. It just wasn't in the cards for him. So sad that despite his accomplishments of setting Australian records at a young age and winning some important meets, he'll be remembered as a "could have been" by many.

As much as I like CLM, it gives me pause to think that there are probably many other untapped White talents in America who, rather than hit the track, are instead scoffing at themselves and feeling bad about being White -- as they have been trained since birth to do. It's a shame that CLM is the only one right now who presents a serious challenge to the rule than Whites can't sprint.

I think allot of the white kids in the US, even if good at the HS level think its better to make money using their brain than try and be a professional athlete. and I'm sure allot of that thinking is from the constant brain washing that "blacks are better, so don't bother" belief so commonly heard here in America.

he has the heart of a champion, as well. it doesn't seem to matter what adversity strikes him, he finds a way to win. what a great effort on his part.

iseem to recall thatChristophe is the first White man to win the European Championship in the 100-meters since 1982. how long has it been since a White man won the 200? or won the double gold?

i just wish white lightning was here to enjoythis great momentwith us.
