The rushing title is not completely out of reach, but he will have to have one of his best rushing days while Chubb repeats what he did this week. I'm still holding out hope.

I feel like Christian will lay the groundwork for more white running backs to get a serious shot in the league and in college.
I don't see it happening. McCaffrey is second in rushing, second in receptions, receivers included, and first in yards from scrimmage and it's not even close. He is the the most complete RB in the NFL. That's the only way a white RB is going to make it. He has to be the very best. We've seen many white RB's get to the NFL in the last several years, but they weren't allowed to be just 800-900, or 1,000 yard backs like so many black counterparts. You're telling me that Ryan Nall, Burkhead, Laird, Zenner. etc. couldn't be 1,000 yard RB's. All four are as good or better than the current middle tier NFL RB's. They simply are not given the opportunity to be every down RB's.
How many Christian McCaffrey's are out there? I have mentioned this before as have others here. Think about the odds of what McCaffrey is doing. It's a billion to 1.
I had the opportunity to watch the number one high school all purpose back for 2021, Will Shipley. He's a good RB, but he's not a McCaffrey. IMO.
Recently, the all time leading RB in Indiana HS history had something like 10,000 or 11,000 yards rushing. He did not receive a D-1 scholarship. He had to walk on at Indiana. He's white.
I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see it. I'll have to see it to believe it.

There's more like Christian. Christian wasn't Christian in high school. His freshman year I thought he would be like Luke Lippincott, solid back with solid hands that can average 4 to 5 yards a pop with good blocking but nothing spectacular. Which is fine, there's tons of black backs like that.

I think White athletes peak later . I think had Sam McGuffie had been able to sit a year at Michigan, added some weight and then used properly he would have been spectacular. He did decent as a true freshman but was never quite the same after multiple players were head hunting him, I suppose because of the YouTube fame and the fact he's a White back. He showed glimpses of what he could do at Rice but never put it all together. The type of player that NFL teams would have taken a chance on had he been black.

If Danny Woodhead had been allowed to be a featured back he could have also led the league. Considered too small at 5'8 200 pounds, around the same size as multiple guys who rushed for 10k in their career, he could have withstood 20 to 25 touches a game

Jake Sharp is another one, he shined in the limited touches at KU, great receiver out of the backfield as well, 4.3 guy.

Matt Szczur was another one, legit 4.4 guy could do everything extremely well, reminds me of Edelman who could also excel at RB if they put him there .

Luke Staley also could have been just as special.

Owen Schmitt could have been dominant like Peyton Hillis. He had the size, the hands and the attitude.

I think a tier below them are guys like Nate Kmic, Chase Reynolds, Zach Line, Zach Zenner, Brock Jackoliski. Joe Martinek. Brandon Wegher. Gerhart. JJ DiLuigi, Kevin Harris. Burkhead. Guys that could get a 1000 yards but wouldn't lead the league unless they were in a good situation. Which I think had Gerhart been on the Vikings without Peterson he could have easily been top 5 in rushing multiple years

McCaffrey isn't an anomaly, I think he benefited from being the son of an NFL player, and choosing the right school to showcase his skills. Had he chosen another school who knows what he would be, a seldom used slot receiver? A special teams gunner?

I agree the odds are stacked against us but Im trying to be optimistic for the future. Max Borghi is frequently compared to McCaffrey... the announcers were saying "he grew up watching Christian". There only a few years apart

I'm also really liking Zane Dudek from Yale, he has good speed.

I'm going to finally start doing more highlight videos. I was gaining traction and raising awareness but had to stop due to an unfortunate set of circumstances. Finally getting out of debt and getting my life back on track and now I have a little free time

Sorry if my posts look weird, they get messed up sometimes on this phone

The whole team kind of fell off the cliff after the coach got fired. The timing was bad. If they could have kept their drive, I CMC would've led the league in rushing.

Son of former player status is huge IMO for white players, heck it looks like Phil Simms journeyman son even has some kind of football gig. On my local HS team they had what I would describe as a mini Woodhead and he lives within 20 miles of a D-1 program, not a sniff and the kid and his clique are probably clueless as to why.

This is going to be my one unobtainable wish for Christmas this year well besides having Miley Cyrus sing happy birthday Mister president coming out of a cake.
Christian Mc. goes nuts against New Orleans. Coach Fewell let him play in Sunday's game when they really should have sat him. He is their franchise player. And I read somewhere online last week that C-Mac wants to play.
With the Saints already in the playoffs they are clearly going to be playing their 2nd string guys all game. With TE Olsen calling out the entire team after Sunday's loss I think Carolina's defense steps up and maybe, just maybe C-Mac runs for over 200 yards and beats Nick Chubb and he also has about 8 catches for around 75 yards and he joins Marshall Faulk and the other guy whose name I can't recall right now and hits the exclusive 1,000 / 1,000 club.
Come on Santa I need this one. :)

Im not too concerned with the rushing title, he's going to end up in the top 3. 1000 and 1000 is more important imo.

The other 2 guys on the list played on loaded teams. Roger Craig had Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Dwight Clark etc.
Marshall had Kurt Warner, Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt . He will be the first guy on the list on a mediocre team;

The Panthers have a 34 year old Greg Olsen as their 2nd best player.
I think what killed the Panthers was the predictable play calling in the redzone. They could have won a few more if it weren't for that. Christian has as many touchdowns as the rest of the team combined. I don't think they could ask much more of him. Would it kill them to do some more play action roll outs and target Greg Olsen? Maybe he lost a step but he still has the size advantage in the redzone

When Ladanian Tomilson set the record with 28 rushing TDs he had Antonio Gates and a 6'5 Vincent Jackson who were redzone threats so teams couldn't load the box. Same with Shaun Alexander, Joe Jurevicius caught 10 TDs that year. Priest Holmes had Tony Gonzalez. Emmit Smith had Michael Irvin etc. It's kind of ridiculous Olsen wasn't targeted more .

Great chart for reference. If CMac has a huge day he could have the greatest season in NFL History as far as all purpose yards from scrimmage! Wow would that be amazing in only
his second year and on a very bad team with little talent! More evidence that McCaffrey could be one of the best running backs to ever live! :)

So will the Panthers do everything possible to get Christian the record, as routinely happens when blacks are nearing a record? He needs 216 total yards to leapfrog from 11th to first all-time, very doable.

I think he only eclipsed that total once all season. It is very doable. However, I think he'll have to get going quickly, break a long run, get plenty of passes from Grier and play the entire game. Grier threw his way a lot last week, especially towards the end of the game.

The Panthers finished with an eight game losing streak ending 5-11, which killed McCaffrey's rushing numbers, especially. His rushing stats fell off a cliff the last 7 games. Mid-season it looked like CMac could get 1700 yards rushing.

Fortunately it didn't effect Christian but the lame-ass Houston defense let Derrick Henry run wild, particularity with a couple of minutes left he was able to reel off a long 60 yard TD scamper. The pursuit on that run was to put it mildly, lazy. Chubb gets cheated out of the rushing crown because of it. We all here would have went crazy had that been done if CMAC was leading.

CMAC's season wasnt quite as historic as we'd thought it be, nonetheless, his stat lines are fantastic. According to PFF, he graded out as the second RB in football to Nick Chubb. That likely means he will be crowned first team all pro, if not, hes a lock for 2nd team

Thanks! I tried to keep it as short as possible to maintain interest with only the best plays but he's got so many it was hard to choose

I am a longtime admirer of youre work Dwid. For a few years yours were the only videos of white skill Position players. Glad you are still at it.

Made a career highlight video of McCaffrey

Thank you! I'm looking at my old channel and just thinking WTF! How does the NFL decide which videos to remove? I understand getting a copyright claim in order to monetize the video. The Christian one already has a strike, and all ad revenue will be going to the NFL. However, I'm going through my channel and seeing several that were just straight up removed. Matt Jones big season showcasing he was actually pretty good even though his abilities were misused. Tebow in response to Elway, showcasing he had success at qb. Brian Hartline's first 1k receiving year. Gerhart's rookie year showing with some decent blocking on a good team he could succeed. Heath Evans showcasing that he could have been a featured back, rushing for 100 yards as an emergency back. Best plays of 2010 (All White skill position players). There is literally 1000's of highlight videos of black NFL players on Youtube that aren't taken down and like I said, I get the copyright claim so they can monetize it for themselves, but straight up taking it down makes absolutely no sense whatsoever because they are losing revenue. The Hartline one had like 20k views before being taken down, and the Gerhart one 40,000. Heath Evans 16,000. Maybe they don't want too many of White players so they can keep up the story line of "oh he's just an anomaly." I know the consensus on Matt Jones is that he was a bust, but he was on pace for 1,000 yards before his cocaine arrest. Many other affletes get second chances but he was written off.

CMAC's season wasnt quite as historic as we'd thought it be, nonetheless, his stat lines are fantastic. According to PFF, he graded out as the second RB in football to Nick Chubb. That likely means he will be crowned first team all pro, if not, hes a lock for 2nd team
how do they figure that? The browns had 2 1000 yard receivers which eases things up for running. McCaffrey had .02 less ypc but has almost twice as many rushing touchdowns. I would also imagine being a running back also includes the passing game. Chubb wasn't even the best 3rd down back on his team. McCaffrey averaged a yard more per catch and scored 4 TDs to Chubb's 0 and is one of the best in pass protection, evidenced by the fact he has played more snaps than any other back the last 2 years since 2012. I couldn't find snap count data past that
Nich Chubb also had 3 fumbles to Christian's 1.

Anyway, hopefully they don't take my McCaffrey video down, I doubt they will because he's considered an anomaly but I wonder if I make one of a lesser known guy like Hunter Renfrow if they will take it down.
