Oklahoma: Set To Land Brandon Wegher-
1/13/2011 12:08:48 PM
Update:
Wegher will enroll at Oklahoma and attempt to join the football team in the fall,
KMTV-TV Omaha reports.
Recommendation:
This is an odd twist in the already goofy Wegher saga, and the
report doesn't specify just what the terms of his arrival are. Oklahoma
wasn't reportedly one of the schools offering Wegher a scholarship out
of high school, so he might be attempting to walk on to the program.
Given that he reportedly had scholarship offers from the likes of
Auburn, Nebraska and Penn State, he'd almost definitely make the team.
Whether he'd play ahead of players like Roy Finch and Brennan Clay isn't
as clear, however. It's also not clear whether he'd be eligible to play
in 2011, or if he burned a year of eligibility by staying in a limbo
status with Iowa all this time."

Former
Iowa running back
Brandon Wegher has plans to transfer and walk-on to
Oklahoma, Wegher told the Des Monies Register this afternoon.
Wegher, who didn't play a down this year, set an Iowa freshman record in
2009 when he rushed for eight touchdowns. He also ran for 641 yards
averaging 4.0 yards per carry. He added a 32-yard TD scamper in the 2010
Orange Bowl win over
Georgia Tech.
Wegher left the squad soon after the start of this last season's fall camp in August. Iowa head coach
Kirk Ferentz said at the time Wegher was dealing with some personal issues.</span><div style="overflow: ; color: rgb0, 0, 0; : transparent; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; border: medium none;">

Bad move I think, hes more talented than Roy Finch and Clay, I don't know if OU would be fair to him though.
