I noticed an article with the headline "Big-Play WR Urged to Sign With Panthers as Carolina Eyes 2025 Growth." In it we find this: "With Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette being the only legitimate receivers under contract, the Panthers would be wise to target various playmakers when free agency begins next month."

I recall reading frequently going into the 2024 NFL season that the Panthers had supposedly surrounded Bryce Young with "weapons." What had happened to them? In the 2021 draft the Panthers took WR Terrace Marshall in the second round. In 2023 they selected WR Jonathan Mingo in the second round. Then in 2024 they upped the ante even more and selected WR Xavier Legette in the first round.
Marshall turned out to be a huge bust. He's accumulated all of 808 receiving yards in four NFL seasons, culminating with 41 yards in 2024. He's now on the Raiders, and because of his still unrealized "upside" is currently listed as second string whereas a White receiver with that kind of showing would be out of the league. In fact, Hunter Renfrow was an All Pro in 2021 with over a thousand yards receiving on those same Raiders until Josh McDaniels worked his "magic" and promptly caste Renfrow aside, as did the rest of the league.
Mingo? Well, after only 418 yards as a rookie in '23, he declined to just 121 yards in '24 and was traded to the Cowboys for a fourth round pick in '25. NFL.com reports that Mingo felt "blindsided" by the trade.

Legette, an alleged "speedburner," caught 49 passes for just 497 yards as a rookie in '24, good enough by Caste NFL standards to qualify as a "legitimate receiver" alongside Thielen.
With all these first and second round draft picks competing against him, all Thielen did after coming over from Minnesota was lead the Panthers in receiving in 2023 with 1,014 yards, almost 500 yards more than the next highest receiver on the team, D. J. Chark, another second round bust who has bounced all over the league since the Jaguars selected him in 2018.
And Thielen again led Carolina in receiving in 2024, with 615 yards despite missing almost half the season with a bad hamstring pull incurred while make a great stretched out TD catch.
Thielen of course was an undrafted free agent who also had to go through a racial apprenticeship before finally getting an opportunity with the Vikings. Is it possible there is a strong racial bias when it comes to recruiting, scouting, drafting and playing White wide receivers? Nah, the best players play, sports is the last "meritocracy" and there has been no DEI over the past two generations as Whites have been slowly but surely eliminated from every football position in favor of Blacks other than tight end. Don't believe what your eyes see, believe only what the discredited and illegitimate "legacy" media tells you.
