It has always been the most asinine metric the draft gurus have come up with. As someone who played football (not professionally of course), not a single thought about if an offensive lineman’s arms were a couple of inches longer crossed my mind, nor did it make one iota of difference.And here are the pff grades for this year. I know their ratings aren’t perfect but again no correlation found between arm length and performance in both pass and run blocking View attachment 4770
This has always been about replacing whites at offensive tackle the “glamour” position on the line. Thats the entirety of what this notion of arm length is about. It is the same way they talked about ass size being an, ahem, asset as if some lard ass black was somehow better because his butt was egregiously fat.
