2025 NFL Draft

Ostmo would be an underrated/ gem type power RB available in late RDs or as an UDFA. Cheap and not highly sought after . 3200 all purpose yards at Montana isn’t too shabby. Is an older prospect though.

Nice workout from Martin too. I like he ran well and has some weight behind him. True LB size/speed

Good workout for Brooks, needs to bulk up a bit! Good jumping and agility times, not the eye popping 40 DWFs and scouts love though..

His athletic measurables are still very good - ranked 241 out of 1228 eligible strong safeties since 1987. Probably 90% of those players being black and he is in the top 20% over the past 38 years. Think of all the black scrubs with lesser athletic traits that were given opportunities because of their skin color.

Back to @TwentyTwo and his post - hopefully we see the largest number of White DBs drafted/signed as UDFAs than has been done in decades.

Mellott should be a RB if anything! Elite athlete!

Grebe and Wehr and sure fire pro prospects! They will be playing in NFL.

@Logos5 thanks for sharing

4.39 and 41 inch Athlete Tommy Mellott is ridiculous. I’d give him his first look as a RB.

DE/OLB Brody Grebe listed at 6’1 240 ran a 4.6 flat! 20 career sacks so of course scouts wanted to racially slot him as a FB!

C/G Marcus Wehr is going to be a good one.
6’3 300
5.15 40
29 bench reps
East/West game participant

Nice results. Mellott an overlooked caste victim considering the type of career he had at Montana St. Might not be a QB at the next level but certainly has the athleticism to play RB, WR, S and maybe even CB.

On the topic of Mellott and his elite pro day performance combined with his stellar record as Montana State's starting QB I have been able to find any mainstream outlet cover him at all. Just goes to show how buried White athletes get.

Easier to talk about Shedeur and Hunter every damn day.

No idea refer to our West Coast CFers on that one!
Yes Davis is
Isn't UC Davis the White kid pothead branch of that system?
UC Davis has a about 15 players that went to the NFL. Rolf Benirschke, Ken O'Brien, and Mike Moroski among others. But none since JT O'Sullivan in 2002 that I could find anyway.

A lot of usual types inhabit the town. Some years ago a guy who had lived there told me that his neighbor had called the police because the guy was smoking a cigarette in his own front yard.

Yes sir ! I see Big Unreal has new thread up ...thinking about chiming in the DB situation coming out of the SEC that cannot be understated
5 Starting White DBs....Most since the 80's?? 4 were WALK ONs.

If the NFL is truly a "Copy Cat" league ; do they notice the ONLY TEAM that "Started TWO White DB's" Won the Super Bowl?
....This could Finally be the Year the 4 White DB's Drafted " Barrier" would be broken! Too many years ( recently) it has been ZERO; that should never happen!

I thought of "Touchdown Tommy" Mellott as the Big Sky Version of Swiss Army Knife John Rhys Plumlee
Kind of like Troy Andersen being the Big Sky version of Taysom Hill.

It would be nice to hear RB Lan Larison's named called sometime on Day 3. Doing the Weekly Stats; his name was always first one i looked for in the FCS. And thought Larison could have gone the Cam Skattebo FCS Sacramento St/ FBS Arizona St route. Even if it was Mountain West.
....if Larison does not taken in the Draft ; he could find himself in a more favorable position like Carson Steele (minus the fumbles)

Sleeper running back catches the Saints' eye at UC Davis pro day workout

AND ....Check out some of these Under the Radar names ( not here on CF)

6. Raiders: Lan Larison, RB, UC Davis

The Raiders could also use a wide receiver here as well, so why not get them a player who can excel at both in Larison. He's the best small college running back prospect in the class whose game and style are very similar to 49ers star Christian McCaffrey.

PFF has some new NFL Draft Rankings....Would be nice to see WR Bech & RB Skattebo hear their names called in Round 2

WR Jack Bech #42
.....at his best, has the makings of an impact WR2 at the NFL level, but he needs to continue to grow to win consistently in his releases against press and in his routes. His sure hands and playmaker mentality won't be an issue.

RB Cam Skattebo # 50
....plays the game in a manner that is easy to love: with a massive chip on his shoulder. NFL teams will gravitate toward his mentality, balance, tackle-breaking ability and after-contact consistency. He has the physical makeup of a three-down back.

Other WRs who would get drafted according to PFF.....
#74 Xavier Restrepo(3rd Round) ; #111 Isaac TeSlaa (4th Round); #223 Efton Chism (7th Round?)
#304 Joey Hobert (UDFA)

Did not see a White DB until #249 Hunter Wohler (7th Round)....Dan Jackson just missed out at #274
#153 Sabastian Castro (Hispanic?/White?)

Also TE continues to Flex it's muscle
# 8 Tyler Warren & #25 Colston Loveland...both 1st Round

Was checking out my Cody Schrader feed and found this article: "Rams Named Best Fit for Draft's Top Receiver, The Los Angeles Rams Could Have a Star on Their Hands."

The receiver is Luther Burden, who played for Missouri. Calling him the draft's "top receiver" seems to be a stretch, but Lance Zierlein -- who reliably downgrades White WRs and RBs while ritually drooling over Black ones, has Burden pegged as a second round pick. Writes ol' Lance:

"Former five-star recruit who offers five-star athleticism and playmaking ability. Burden is a natural on the field with above-average speed and exciting ball skills to win at a high rate. He takes snaps off and short-circuits routes if he’s not the primary option, but he can separate and succeed on all three levels when it’s his time. Missouri exploited Burden’s yards-after-catch talent with a barrage of short throws, but NFL teams are much more likely to diversify his usage, activating his complete skill set and big-play potential. The production against top teams was uneven at times but so was Missouri’s quarterback play. Burden checks several priority boxes that typically foreshadow an impressive NFL career."

The article from the headline above writes: "The Los Angeles Rams could have the best receiver in the 2025 NFL Draft on their hands. Missouri's Luther Burden was considered one of the best pass catchers in college football entering last season but his stock has slightly decreased due to incorrect assumptions about his play. Some believe he regressed last season, which is not true. He played great; his quarterback Brady Cook regressed due to not having his reliable running back in the backfield anymore, current Rams running back Cody Schrader."

Intrigued, I checked out Burden's stats. In three seasons for Missouri he recorded 45 catches for 375 yards in 2022, for an awful average of 8.3 yards per reception; 86/1212 in '23 with an average catch of 14.1 yards; and then in '24 he dropped to 61/676 for a paltry 11.1 yards per catch.

So this former five star recruit who "offers five-star athleticism and playmaking ability" averaged less than 10 yards per catch when combining his 2022 and 2024 output, yet last season "played great," with his regression attributed solely to his quarterback no longer having Cody Schrader as the engine of the offense.

So Burden remains a superstar prospect despite poor production his final season without Schrader being there to open the offense. That Schrader must be something special then, right? Well, yes, he easily led the hallowed SEC with 1,627 yards rushing in 2023, yet not a single "scout" deemed him to offer "five-star athleticism and playmaking ability." In fact as we know he wasn't drafted at all, and now languishes at the very bottom of the Rams roster with the odds now greatly in favor of him never getting an opportunity to establish himself as a ball carrier in the NFL. Basic Caste System/DEI racist methodology at work, ad infinitum.

The hoops these idiots run through to try and convince themselves of their arguments is peak absurdity. Brady Cook is actually a sleeper QB on top of that. As for Burden's supposed athleticism comes down to him running a 4.41 40. He took part of no other drills of athletic measurement. He also opted out of participating in his pro day. Another player to root heavily against.
