2.10 meters

Yaroslava Mahuchikh erased a mark that had stood for 37 years at a Diamond League meet in Paris, jumping 2.10 meters (6.88 feet) in one of the last big tuneups leading into the Olympics. The previous record of 2.09 was set by Bulgaria's Stefka Kostadinova in Rome in 1987.

We just had the greatest 800m race ever in France today:
1. Djamel Sedjati 1:41.56 Algeria
2. Emmanuel Wanyonyi 1:41.58 Kenya
3. Gabriel Tual 1:41.61 France

All three men ran all time top ten times.
Sedjati is European/Berber
Wanyonyi is 19 and a superstar
Tual broke Sebastian Coe’s 1.41.73 which was a 14 yr World Record set in 1981 and was still the fastest White Athletes Time till today.

Better than Dave, Me and Mike I have to admit.

Plus Yaroslava setting the WR in the HJ from my home city of Dnepropetrovsk(yes Russian name and spelling and soon to be cleared out of nato scum). We also had the Women’s Triple Jump Record until recently. Not bad for a city of about 1 million.

Adam Gemili is white?

This is from his own words.

Gemili — who has a personal best of 9.97s in the 100m and 19.98s in the 200m — "is of Moroccan and Iranian heritage and said people did not expect he would be fast because of his ethnic background.
“I’m a weird mix. I’ve never heard of a sprinter with Iranian and Moroccan heritage in them,” he said".

Dnipro is a city on the Dnieper River in central Ukraine. Missiles in Rocket Park mark the city's role in the Soviet-era space and defense industries. The Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine Museum is part of the Menorah Center, a Jewish cultural and business complex. The Art Museum includes paintings and sculptures. Nearby, the D.I. Yavornytsky National History Museum explores archaeology and Cossack history.

Any wonder why nato will fight to the last Ukrainian? The clue is above

My mistake on Gemili. I was going by a picture of his parents. Didn't take time to see where they were from.

Patrizia Van der Weken of Belgium just won the Paris Diamond League 100m in 11.06 with Swoboda in 3rd.
She has run 11.10 or under now 8 times in less than a year. She's 24 years old.
Better still, her 11.06 run tonight was into a 2.0m wind - better than her PB 11.00 which had a 2m following wind.
That's seriously good running so it will be good to see her in Paris again in a month.

Meanwhile 23 year old Yaroslava Mahutchikh from Ukraine just broke the world high jump record of August 1987 with 2.10 or 6'10.5".
Given her age she may be first female to break the 7 foot mark (213.5cms)

Patrizia Van Der Weken 11.06 -2.0 translates into a time of 10.92 with no wind and a 10.82 +2.0 wind.

Amazing Talent! :campeon:

Patrizia is so good to watch. Good knee lift so she exerts quite some force onto the ground. Great leg cycling - compare her with Swoboda

Could we be looking at another Italian Stallion like Filippo Tortu?

21 year old Italian Sprinter Matteo Melluzzo breaks his p.b. in the 100 meters for the 2nd time. He ran a time of 10.12 +1.0 on June 29th!
For this young an age he is right on track so far. Tortu was faster at the same age but not by alot. He also ran a time of 10.13 wind legal along with a 10.21 earlier this summer. Exciting young sprinter to keep a close eye on!

I used to train with the female announcer when she was an up and coming junior, better athlete than her commentary

impressive bow work. If we still had to go to war with them as our weapons today I imagine they'd be quite a bit better than 800 years ago

In other good news, Germany's Alica Schmidt made their Olympic team. I believe she will be running in the 4X400.........she is very easy on the eyes!
