20 yr old Max Burgin of Britain, ran a world leading 1:43.52 800m in Finland today.
Max has been an 800m prodigy for a few years now, but injuries have shorten all his recent seasons.
If he can stay healthy, he is a potential Olympic and World Champion.

Portugal had Abrantes a good decade ago, he was more of a 200m specialist who dabbled in the 100m at the European level. Portugal tends to buy foreign talent with salaries and the athletes compete for track clubs, recently they had an Afro-Cuban triple jumper and an Afro-Latino triple jumper who won medals at the word level.

of course their biggest name import was Francis Obikwelu - who took the European record for them from Linford Christie

Rohan Browning is down for the Oslo 100m this Thursday evening - I don't have a clue what to expect but 10.20 would be a point to work from with 6 weeks till peaking

I thought he would run alot faster than that but that's what lack of activity does. There is a difference between practice runs and racing. He will be back for sure. That has to be Brownings slowest race in about 3 or 4 years probably.

In the Olso Diamond League Womens 400 Meters Hurdles Femke Bol won easily running a new meet record of 52.61! It's a seasons best and she won by over 2 seconds from Anna Ryzhykova of the Ukraine. Bol is simply on another level
and very similar to Karsten Warholm on the mens side. I do really believe that she will break the World Record sometime in the next several years. She is so young yet so dominant.

In the womens 200 meters we saw Ida Karstoff run a new meet record winning in a time of 22.73! It is also a new Denmark National Record. Beth Dobbins of the U.K. finished in 2nd with a seasons best time herself.
Karstoff is a new name we haven't talked about. Here is a picture of her.

Swoboda will be going in the 100 at the Paris Diamond League on Saturday against a tough field. Hope she can break 11.00.

I hope Browning's hammy injury is full healed and he will peak in 6 weeks - who knows with the sprints?

Ingerbrigtsen a great mile in 3.46.46 pushed hard by Oli Hoare (3.47.47 AR) till the last 150m

Jakob Ingerbrigtsen is similar to Warholm in his imense talent. He alread broke the world indoor record earlier this year. Can you break the legendary outdoor world records in the 1500 meters and the mile? It will be difficult but with his
age and his incredible desire to be the best miler that ever lived it's possbile. This was a Dream Mile and both of these young men looked great!

Lukenkemper did not give up track for a few years, she was dealing with injuries and a switch to a new coach. I am glad she ran well hopefully she stays healthy and runs even faster!

Simon Hansen of Denmark just missed a new p.b. in Finland today. Similar to what happened to Emile Erasmus a couple of days ago. The dreaded wind was barely over the limit. Such a shame as he looked great winning his heat easily.

Simon Hansen ran a time of 10.13 +2.2! It still shows he has the leg turnover to get those times in the future. Another sprinter to keep an eye out for.

Ewa Swoboda with a new p.b. today in Paris of 11.05. Zoe Hobbs looked great but Del Ponte still struggling in her return back from a bad injury.

I was watching the Oslo Diamond League meet and the broadcasters mentioned Benjamin might have injuries issues too, so with Warholm and Benjamin possibly being off form for the world champions. Somebody like Magi could hit the podium which could be a silver lining for this cloudy season.
