Tip of the iceberg for South Africa?

They just had a wonderful fellow run 19.8X at the Paris Diamond league meet and set pb after pb this season, I'm not saying they are the Yams of 08' to 16' but with their XY problem, racial quotas and possible doping the athletics federation is a hot mess.

This is gonna be a fun weekend guys. In the US Champs we have Boling in the 200 meters, Steiner in the womens 200 meters and MaryBeth Sant Price & Jenna Prandinni in the 100 meters along with many other men
and women we root for in other events.

Then worldwide it's gonna be epic. Some of the National Championships this weekend:

German Champs

United Kingdom (English) Champs

Spanish champs

Italian Champs

French Champs

I'm sure there are others. That's just off the top of my head. I'm really excited especially for the US Champs, Italisn, English and German Champs. I still think it's odd that the Polish Champs were 2 weeks ago. They do it so early every year.
I think we would see faster times with the men & the women if they had their nat'l champs this weekend like most countries do.

Hoping for a 10.05 for Julian Wagner of Germany this weekend but it will be tough with running multiple rounds against great competition. He is in good form so far though! :)

At the USATF Championships Mary Beth Sant-Price ran a great time in her heat - 10.99!
Jenna Prandini also qualified, running 11.18

Just an fyi....Sha'carri Richardson didn't qualify.

Amazing opening heat time for Mary Beth. She should have saved more of that energy for the semifinals and finals. She will need that time again to make the final. Good luck to her.

I'd like to see Johnnie Blockburger win through to the men's 400 final - just because!:D

Mary Beth's 7.06/60 split is close to her indoor 60m PB - here's hoping she's got a little more left to match her 10.95 from earlier in June .
Whatever, none of her competitors will ever think of her as anything but top shelf competitive

2 takeaways from Sants heat: She eased off abit at 70m and the other sprinters ignored her after the race....

sprintstar, you are spot on, sir. Sant-Price clearly gears down around 70m, and her darker-hued competitors shunned her completely. you can see both in the video below. Marybeth is in heat 1. also, Jenna Prandini is in heat 3.

Marybeth Sant-Price and Jenna Prandini both narrowly missed out on making the final of the 100-meters.

Sant-Price got a good start, typical for her, and was strong through the first 60m but was tracked down over the final 40, finishing in 11.01.

Prandini, on the other hand, closed like a freight train but had too much ground to make up. this bodes well for her stronger event, the 200m. she finished in 11.00.

the women’s 100m was unsurprisingly VERY strong (pun and peds intended), with 10.96 being the slowest qualifier for the final and media-favorite Sha’carri Richardson not even advancing past the opening round.

in the men’s 100, the top times of the semifinal heats were eye-popping. there’s no telling what the athletes are popping, either, because there’s NO WAY they’re running clean.

perhaps Boling will now listen to critics who tell him to forget the long jump. He was nowhere near qualifying - a long jumper with his speed needs 8.50m to show he's not just a sprinter who jumps.
Will he have legs for the 200? Can't see why not. If he doesn't go sub 20 somewhere in the rounds it'll be a disappointment

I'm as hard on Boling as many here but at the end of the day this year will be a success no matter what happens in the 200 meters. He ran 6.55, 9.98 and 19.92 all legal when he was a 21 year old kid similar to Lemaitre and Guliyev. It's amazing to
even think about with the weight of the world on his shoulders. That being said this running so many relays and the long jumps must stop. I also don't see him as a 400 meters guy. He was born to run the 100 & 200 meters. His training and focus
for next year should be primarily that and I'm sure it will be. Let's just still enjoy watching such an incredibly talented kid who just turned 22 a less than a week ago. THE BEST IS YET TO COME! :) We just have to be patient as Rome was not
built in a day and every sprinter is different. I have no doubt this kid will shock and amaze people around the world!

On Saturday July 25th it's gonna be a crazy day for Track Fans from around the World. There are so many nat'l championships going on everywhere that I only listed a few above. There are many, many more!

For Mastermulti and any Australian Fans or Rohan Browning Fans. He is entered in the 2022 Italian National Championships tommorow and has both Jacobs and Tortu to hopefully push him to new heights! :)

Browning will be in tough against PED Jacobs...having said that he is capable of sub 10 when in top shape with no injuries or niggles. Tortu not so sure of right now, hopefully he can turn a corner here and go sub 10(again) as well!

I don't like how at the 2022 German National Championships they run all 3 races of the 100 meters for the mens & the womens on the same day. The sprinters had to run the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals and I think
it's better to have just the semifinals and finals on the 2nd day. Oh well. Regardless it was not what I had hoped for coming into the championships.

Julian Wagner for the 3rd time in a row ran a 10.12 +0.1 in the finals to finish in 2nd place. so frustrating as the winner Owen Answah won in a time of 10.09. So Wagner doesn't go faster yet. I was hoping for a 10.05 or better
today but 3 races in one day is tough on all of the sprinters. Kevin Kranz finished in 4th running a on time of 10.21 but he underperfomed as well. I still believe Julian Wager can dip below 10 seconds this year. He has had
no help from a legal tail wind in an of his 3 races where he ran the same time of 10.12 each time on the track. He shows amazing consistancy but just hasn't got over the hump yet. He is close and it has to hurt to just miss winning
the german natinal championship by 3/100th and to be stuck on that same time over and over again for the third time now. Oh well we will see what the rest of the summer brings.

On the Womens side we had some great news!

Gina Luckenkemper won the national championship winning in an incredible time of 10.99 +0.8! Glad to see her back to her prime and today has to show her she is ready for the World Champs. Rebekka Haase took 2nd in a time of 11.20!

At the Italian Champs it was more bad news. The races were run into a negative wind. Rohan Browning is stuck in reverse as he only ran a 10.32! I wonder if he is hurt or the move to train was a bad decision. Can't blame him
for trying something new but he just has lost his form for now. Sad to see.

Filippo Tortu has also had a very bad season. All he could do was to finish in third place in the finals running a 10.24 -0.9 wind. Not a good performance and he has also looked just as bad over 200 meters. He isn't even entered
in the 200 at the Italian National Championships this weekend so it's gonna be a long summer for him too. Lorenzo Patta finished in 4th with a slow 10.28 as well.

It's nice to see a guy that's flying under the radar all year make the 200 meters semifinals. David Dunlap who runs for the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks(NAU) ran a 20.47 to advance. He has no chance after
this but he did good at the NCAA National Championships and he did good today. He is a very good sprinter but he is just up against the best of the best. Still glad he made the semifinals as he must be so pumped up!

Steiner’s time was the fastest overall in the opening round, and she was also in BY FAR the fastest women’s heat with 6 runners in her heat advancing (the top 3 automatically and finishers 4-6 on time). hopefully, she has plenty of gas left in the tank.

Prandini cruised to win her heat.

Boling finished with Bednarek neck-and-neck, although the negative is that Bednarek closed out the race better ... hopefully Boling was just saving a bit of energy, but time will tell.
