2022 World Outdoor Season

I was looking at the World Top Lists for the Mens 100 Meters and then the US Top Lists for the Mens 100 meters. Not sure how I missed this result?

Zachary Jewell ran a 10.15 wind legal on March 26th at the Mike Sanders Track & Field Complex. Amazing time for is first 100 meters race of the year!

Aiden Murphy's mom, Tania Van Heer is from Sri Lanka. The demographics of that place look kind of mixed up. Just sayin.

Here's Abby Steiner winning the 100m in 11.10 on a wet track at the Florida Relays.
It was her first 100m in 3 years.
The announcer talks about the injuries Abby has overcome in the past few years.

Jake Doran does it again just a week after being crowned national champion in the 100 meters for Australia. Today in Brisbane he ran a 10.28 to take the win on a
very soaked wet track against a stacked competition. He also ran this time into a -1.5 head wind. He is in fine form this year and after last years struggles I'm happy
for him. This is the type of performances I was expecting from Hale this year. Regardless Jake Doran is a very talented sprinter and he is shocking everyone in 2022!

Impressive performance!
Now she is a threat to medal at the NCAAs and US Nationals in both the 100m and 200m.

Now this helped to cheer me up. Earlier I saw Devin Quinn get knocked out in the first round of another meet. Quinn looks like he has went backwards even worse than Hale.

Abby Steiner is setting the track on fire. How long has it been since we had a white american female sprinter who coud go sub 11 and potential to go sub 22 wind legal if ever? She is an incredible sprinter and very beautiful and feminine as well. A great role model for little white girls that apire to run track! Congrats to Abby Steiner!

In watching Steiner's race(very poor start) it was amazing to see her blowby the others like they were in slow motion. With a better start in that race she would have gone mid to high 10.8's. As I mentioned in another post she is lovely and very feminine. Here are her 100m and 20m races;

her adjusted time taking into consideration the wind etc would be around 21.65 with no wind. Interesting tidbit.

Here's a new name for everyone to keep an eye on . . . Marione Fourie of South Africa.
She is 19 yrs old and just lowered her personal best in the 100m hurdles from 13.47 last year, to 12.92! today.
That impressive time, is =7th fastest time in the world this year.

At the same meet, Jovan Van Vuuren, long jumped 8.16. That makes him the 4th longest jumper in the world this year.

Good finds jacknyc. That reminds me to mention another South African Sprinter I've been wanting to talk about briefly as another young
sprinter to keep a close eye on.

18 year old Henru Olivier already has personal best times of 10.30 and 21.02 outdoors. Oliviers 60 meters p.b. is 6.74 so he is very fast
for such a young age. One to watch and keep a close eye on. I think we've only see the tip of the iceberg. Here is his profile.

it's lovely to see people 18/19 make huge strides in performance. It's certainly a good year to do it internationlly.
One of the things they'll need to learn is how to cope through times of plateauing without losing interest.

Devon Allen has the chance of a lifetime to finally get a medal at a major championship. Hope he can finish in the top 3 as he has had a good career and this
might be his last chance. He signed an NFL contract so I believe he is gonna either try to do both or retire from track and play football a few more years.

Speaking of the Oregon Ducks. Freshman Ryan Mulholland just missed a new p.b. at the Mt. Sac Relays today. He ran a time of 10.20 +2.1 so it's
just barely over the wind legal limit. He finished in 2nd in heat 8 and won't make the finals despite having of the quicker times. He just was in a very
fast heat where the winner ran a 10.17 so he looked very strong for a freshman and didn't lose by that much. One to watch over the next 3 years.

A little while later Ryan Mulholland ran a wind legal 20.49 in heat 8. Again guys this kid is only
a freshman so he shows great potential already!

United Kingdom(English) Sprinter Charlie Dobson ran a 20.19 wind legal today at the Tom Jones Invitational. Amazing time and it's wind legal. Dobson is only 22 years
of age and missed last season with a major injury. I think we can say he is back and running faster than ever. His red hair is a rare thing to see on a sprinter. Love it! Here

Anytime my brother. Yes she is so pretty yet she is as strong as an ox. Sprintstar and some of us have discussed how she has to be one of the strongest women in the world
at her height if not the strongest. Mary Beth stands only 5'1 but is a Little Stick of Dynamite! She just explodes out of the blocks. 3rd fastest women in the world indoors this
year and she won the bronze medal. So happy for her after her injury struggles. Would love to see her continue to become a household name!
