I agree 100% with your logic. However we have seen the draft and NFL decision makers lack logic. Remember how the Tunsil video was leaked of him with a weed gas mask on - he only dropped to 13th and is now somehow considered the top LT in the league. The NFL misses on so many draft picks every year yet these same idiots never learn from their mistakes. I do hope that some of these overrated projected 1st round sumos do drop and we see some white OL get picked higher than projected.

Very true the Caste System definitely defies logic! I'll also agree with you there. Hoping some of the hyped WR and Sumo OL prospects drop like stones .

I just want to add four fliers. Basically a flier is an upside athlete who is well worth taking in the 7th round. I would draft them without hesitation. While there may be some draft surprises this draft as mentioned above I suspect they will revolve around "unknown" black players. So the chances of any of the four below getting drafted is beyond slim.

QBs Tom Flacco and Tommy Stevens--Taysom Hill prototypes.

Athlete Nathan Cottrell--Special teams gunner and offensive gadget outlet. Tremendous speed.

CB David Jones-- Out of Cornell a true shut down corner who has off the charts athletic ability. If he gets drafted then just wait for a while until you finally wake up and realize it was just a dream.

My way too White Friendly Mock Draft For Green Bay.

30: R1P30

OT EZRA CLEVELAND
BOISE STATE

*Most athletic OL(6'5 300) In The Draft, yet still seen as a fringe 1st rounder in a Sumo centric Draft Class. This makes sense I'd have him as backup Swing tackle. Potential to replace Bulaga along the Right side and Bakhtiari is a FA next season. Keep ARod standing.

62: R2P30

C TYLER BIADASZ
WISCONSIN

Too good to pass up another Mauler(6'3 325) along OL. Linsley is a FA next season as well. BIADASZ provides insurance along interior OL, could slide to guard to replace Billy Turner/Lane Taylor.

94: R3P30

DL LEKI FOTU
UTAH

Pretty much a space eater inside. 6'5 335 should secure backup NT.

136: R4P30

TE THADDEUS MOSS
LSU

Packers fans recognize this last name well, the son of the notorious Mooner Randy. He'll provide depth for Green Bay behind Stoneburner and Tonyan.

175: R5P29

CB LAVERT HILL
MICHIGAN

A very hyped prep player recorded 6INTS and 2for TDs. 5'10 190. Much needed depth for Packers, replace old man Tramon Williams who hasn't wanted to make a tackle in last 4years.

192: R6P13

OT JACK DRISCOLL
AUBURN

Versatile OL that started his career at UMass and on to Auburn to start at RT. 4year starter. 6'5 305lbs and a 5 second 40yd dash to top off his stellar resume. Absolute STEAL in 6th RD!

208: R6P29

LB CLAY JOHNSTON
BAYLOR

6'1 227 so a little undersized, but is the son of an NFL strength coach in Kent Johnson and was a tackling machine at Baylor in Big12. Some injury concerns, but should round out MLB chart nicely for GB.

209: R6P30

S ALOHI GILMAN
NOTRE DAME

5'11 203 May be an Average athlete, great agility though. Good resume at Notre Dame. Much needed depth at Safety and Special Teams.

236: R7P22

WR CHRIS FINKE
NOTRE DAME

He's been discussed here a lot. Gives the Pack a much needed route runner in the slot with great hands.

242: R7P28

S AUSTIN LEE
BYU

Lanky and tough safety. Could very well be next Daniel Sorensen. Both Lee and Gilman are high IQ safeties, think they'd be a solid backup crew.

UDFA:

QB Brian Lewerke(MSU), or Shea Patterson (UM), or Kevin Davidson(Princeton)

RB:Bronson Rechsteiner (Kennesaw St)or your pick of generic Afflete backs.

WR/TE: Giovanni Ricci(WMU)

DL: Jonah Williams(Weber St.)

LB: Chris Orr(Wis), Tyler Johnson(Wis)

CB: Myles Bryant(Washington)

The draft is right around the corner and it looks grim. But I'm sucking a few down right now and given the state of the world---uh not too good--- what the hell time to get a little nuts. Why not inject a little sugar rush before the draft? Why not dream if only for a spell before the grim reality cones crashing down?

Wouldn't it be great if the caste playbook got thrown out and we end up with a wild draft with all sorts of unexpected white skill players getting selected? I'll rattle off some names that appear nowhere ( except here of course)--- S Austin Lee (see above post),WR John Hurst, WR Dalton Schoen, S/LB Austin Hall, WR Michael Dean, LB Drew Wiley and WR Kyle Haines. Add these names to all the players mentioned above today.

I just saw the most interesting and best mock seven round draft so far. By Chad Reuter. Downside no listing of WRs Chris Finke or Mason Kinsey.

But look at some of the names who do show up. TE Eli Wolf ( 4.4 speed) and Jordan Glasgow listed as a LB. A lot of the fringe players are listed before the 7th round including edge players Casey Toohill and Carter Coughlin. Tanner Muse is listed early in the 5th round. QB Shea Patterson, another fringe player is listed in the 6th.

But want a real mood booster? I am sure members Red raider and TwentyTwo will appreciate this one. Not yet discussed here mainly because strangely he was vaguely ignored his senior year when it looked like he was prepping for a big season. His stats at WR were 34-508 but he made a big mark on special teams. Reuter has him getting drafted in the 7th round. I speak of Eastern Michigan's Matthew Sexton. Long known as a speedy player for whatever reason his team ignored him his senior year which made zero sense.

He was timed Sexton at 4.38 on his pro day. No slower than a 4.44 but on film he flies. See below a write up on Sexton. And it is worth checking out Reuder's refreshing seven round mock draft.

I would love to see Sexton get drafted. He never had a big season but he was a consistent performer for years on offense and special teams. He’s good friends with Maxx Crosby, maybe the Raiders would give him a chance to be WR #5 and spell Renfrow when he is tired. At minimum he should be on a practice squad next season.

Thanks for posting the info about Reuter's draft. I counted 43 white players drafted so not really great news in terms of projections. I totally forgot about Matthew Sexton though - another name to keep an eye on. I do think Toohill is going to go earlier than people think. The Jalen Hurts to the Patriots pick is laughable but at the same time very possible - it would cement Bellichek's transformation into a full blown caste stooge. Parkinson out of Stanford is another guy who will go higher than round 7.

Another EMU product I have totally forgotten about is Safety Brody Hoying - another late round/UDFA player to keep an eye on.

I wanted to add an athlete similar to Jason Sehorn,

Marc-Antoine Dequoy CB University of Montreal Carabins( equiv. to avg. FCS Program)
6-2/203 4.33 40/ 6.65 ss/4.04 3c/38in vj/10-9 bj/25 rep bp

Long/ lean/ wing span 4in longer than height/ superior fluidity/agility/body control
Has the best Proprioception(6th sense) for a football player since Sehorn.

He has the ability to become the best corner in the nfl at this time. A relative novice for football, like Sehorn he played lots of different sports growing up. Is 25 yrs. old/ needs a year to become a starter and superstar. Ceiling in highest of any corner.

NICE FIND Yuri! Thanks ! OF COURSE the NFL wants to convert him to Safety. Maybe a black assistant coach (like Dennis Thurman did for Sehorn @ USC) will give Dequoy a chance at CORNER BACK! He needs to be on a 53 man roster...
https://www.thechronicleherald.ca/s...oine-dequoy-eyes-nfl-career-at-safety-439462/

Ohio U. QB Nathan Rourke is from Canada too...would be nice to see him go in Late Rounds/// he has that sneaky speed

How many White Rookie (Drafted or Undrafted?) WR's will be in Training Camps come August??

Yes sir Shadowlight...thought EMU WR Matthew Sexton may be CFL Bound ; but you never know. Hope he gets the opportunity in a Summer Camp! Always made sure to look at his Stat-line on Weekly Recaps

WR Dalton Schoen(K-St) 6'-1" 209... played in a Run Heavy Offense ; so his Stat-line doesn't stand out. A KC Chiefs publication list him as High Priority Free Agent
Here's his 82 yard TD vs Texas his Soph. year

Yeah Bucky ...during the season thought D-Line Eli Hanback would be at least a 5th Round pick ...but was surprised to see how low he was Rated on CBSSports

Looking forward seeing WHERE/WHEN D-Lineman James Lynch (Baylor) will end up?? He's a Future Starter in the NFL

Sleeper NG Garrett Marino (UAB) could be an NFL Starter; 41 reps @ 225!! at Pro Day; explosive; strong off the ball! comparable to La'Roi Glover from back in the day

Dean is a freak athlete too. Just can't believe he's that small. His testing numbers are elite and has good production. Going to watch some of his highlights tonight.

Following posts above yes Michael Dean is a mighty mite.

I don't know how much of a realistic shot he has. But Michael Dean put up some impressive times at his pro day (4.30 40, and 40" vert). Yes he's small but with the Jojo Natson, Tarik Cohen, Taylor Gabriel and Deonte Harris of the world in he NFL, no reason he shouldn't get a shot with his blazing speed.

https://www.idahostatejournal.com/s...cle_b6a59d94-3a93-5e75-9fb2-ff4e29877ef2.html

He won't get drafted and I don't see a black locker room accepting a small white player who is not a kicker. They are willing to accept relatively tiny black return men. Just another example of the wicked double standard that envelopes the NFL.

Speaking of return men I watched the 1999 Super Bowl yesterday and Tim Dwight was easily the fastest player in the game. Supersonic jets on full display on his electrifying 94 yard TD kick return. The next year Tim led the NFL in yards per catch at 20.9. He was on the verge of stardom but for various reasons his career stalled a bit. He did catch 5o passes on one year with San Diego.

But Chris Finke isn't the only fool white player to run the 40 at a combine when injured though. Dwight a sprint track star with impressive speeds had a terrible groin injury but decided to run the 40 anyway. He ran it in I think 4.63 seconds which is a complete joke and had no correlation to his true speed. It hurt his draft stock. See below a nice appreciation of Dwight. One would hope a similar player like Andy Isabella gets a chance to explode his second year but it remains to be seen if the Cardinals will ever give him a chance. If they draft over his head I think we all will hit the roof.

Like Sehorn and Troy Apke and Tanner Muse Dequoy looks like a natural athlete unlike the many black defensive backs who look like they are on steroids. Below you can see some highlights. He sure does have freak athletic characteristics. He will turn 26 this September but unlike say the NBA or MLB who cares? It still gives him a 5-8 year career window. NFL players in general don't have long shelf lives. Taysom Hill entered at a late age. Although this happens to white players and rarely for black players who are targeted shortly after child birth. Funny looking at Dequoy it occurred to me he is built like a rangy wide receiver. Lo and behold I am not alone in that assessment. See below article and video clip of this tremendous looking athlete. Nice find before the strike of midnight by the way Yuri.

https://sportsmockery.com/2020/03/chicago-bears-once-again-showing-interest-in-canadian-standout/

Also mentioned in above posts WR Dalton Schoen. More upside than a lot of black wide receivers who will get drafted. Will have to sadly tunnel his way through the UDFA route.

Is there a box that the very smart Justin Herbert has not checked off? I'm not the only one who has compared him to Josh Allen. See Mel Kiper etc.. Both have that fluid natural athleticism you can't teach.

Watching the great DE Jared Allen the other day in a rebroadcast I was struck by how truly awesome he was back in the day. Up for the HOF next year many think he won't make the first ballot but Charles Woodson and Calvin Johnson are seen as worthy of that. Please Allen was as good if not better than both of those players. But the entire game on every snap it looked like Allen was shot out of cannon. His get off was so fast he was in the Green Bay backfield in the blink of an eye. He was one of the best ever athletes to play DE. Why am I brining this up?

Well I ran into an article that muses about the relevance of the 40 yard dash something I have done for a while now. The 40 time is to me completely useless for certain positions including OL and DL. That recorded speed has no bearing on play on the field. The only important number for DL especially DEs is the 10 yard split which means players should run a 20 or 30 yard dash just to get that 10 yard split reading and to ignore the rest.

The 40 is also not the best way to measure true speed. The 100 yard dash and 100 meter dash is a much more accurate measuring tool. And this article pretty much runs along those lines as well as track people will tell you the 40 is more of a semi gimmick than the media lets on. For example Jordy Nelson toasted black defensive backs throughout his career despite the fact that many of the DBs had better posted 40 times. He was the best deep threat in football for several years and one of the main reasons for that was because he would pull away from these hapless DBs who he left in the dust. Think of it another way. When Usain Bolt dominated the sprints he was often trailing after 40 yards per say but he eventually left the pack in the dust as he pulled away with ease.

Just one example of many. When Ryan Switzer returned a punt against the Redskins in his rookie year Switzer pulled away from the defense. One of those players chasing him had a 4.34 time at the combine. Switzer had a 4.51 time. Not only did the 4.3 guy not even keep pace Switzer pulled away from him.

So yes the 40 has some value but it is a much overrated tool that over the years has favored black players. See below interesting article that parcels out different sprint lengths. Baseball uses the 60 yard dash as a speed measurement so why would football rely on a shorter distance especially when you consider the football field is bigger than baseball fields?

Note both burners Jordy Nelson and Tim Dwight make the speed list.

I guess I shouldn't be paying attention to pre draft rumors but it appears some teams are finally realizing that the hyped up black first round types aren't all that they cracked up to be. The 49ers who don't have picks in the 2,3 or 4th round are thinking of even trading their two first round picks too. The Giants need OL help so why blow their fourth pick on a LB when they can slide down and address the OL?Daniel Jones is their most important player and they have a great need for OL help. Besides if they pick LB Simmons etc. they will be drafting over the head of the bevy of white LBs that are there now. My prediction is the Giants slide down.

The "surprises" we are hoping for fall into two or maybe categories in my mind.

First there is the "nice surprise" where a designated white ( preferably skill position) player is drafted higher than anticipated. For instance I am hearing rumors that TE Cole Kmet might sneak into the first round. I rate him just above underrated Harrison Bryant as the two best TEs in the class.

Then there is the "true surprise" which at the end of the day is more important because players like Cole Kmet were penciled in to get drafted anyway so it is just a matter of where when it comes to them. The true surprise would include say wide receivers like Chris Finke and Mason Kinsey. I just have very little confidence that we will see any true surprises when it comes to skilled white players who meet that criteria. Foolishly perhaps but I still hold out slim hopes a few picks will pleasantly surprise me.

I guess the third category would include fringe players like OLB Casey Toohill or QB Shea Patterson. These players are on the border line and may or may not get drafted. I am worried about this group as well.

I think a lot of members here at CF are anxiously awaiting where S Tanner Muse lands. If I was a GM I would elbow away any SOB that got in my way in getting him. We will have to wait until the third day but I keep asking myself what safety would I pick ahead of him? I come up with blanks. See below another highlight reel of Tanner. One word scouting report is all that is needed. Stud!

From the "Counsel of Doing the Right Thing." Since no one knows right now what will happen this fall there are multiple possibilities. The season could be canceled. Could be delayed to later months and or play with a shortened season. Will there be crowds? Maybe everything proceeds as normal but no one can guarantee that at this juncture.

Owners should play it safe. Instead of doling out multi million contracts to overrated black prospects why not settle for under the radar ( not our radar) white players who won't break the bank? Remember if they play the games without fans the revenue will shrink big time. Why blow their loads spending money in this atmosphere when the alternative ( drafting more white players than usual) seems like a wiser path.

Just saying.

As I've stated on this board before, I believe Tanner Muse is a first round talent. He's certainly the best strong safety prospect in this class. He could probably play linebacker too.

Where he'll go is another question. I'm thinking a team might take him in the third but we'll see.

I’m going to make the prediction that Tua Tagovailoa will be an even bigger quarterback bust than Jordan Love. I think it’s worth noting Tua’s injury history and lack of ideal height at 6’-0” but to me the most damning thing on his resume is his wonderlic test. The guy is as dumb as a coconut! His original score was 13 but now they are saying it was actually a 19. It’s the lowest out of the 2020 quarterback class and a very poor score for an intellectual position like QB. Jalen Hurts is also stupid (18 score than bumped to 21) and undersized but at least has running abilities.

Jordan Love is 6’-4” with a good arm and a 27 wonderlic score. He also played on a poor team. I can actually buy the argument that he has “upside” for a good coach to work with. Now before you guys kill me, I’m not saying he’s a 1st rounder. In fact I think he’s the ideal mid round developmental pick (4th or 5th). Hurts and Tagovailoa wouldn’t even be on my draft board if I was a GM.

Just a snapshot look at a past draft but I swear it feels like things are getting worse. Based on what is coming the next few days it will be hard to shake that impression.

Tomorrow morning ESPN2 will rebroadcast the first round of the 2005 draft. There were a solid amount of white defensive ends and linebackers chosen and I will only point out just a couple. But there were other picks that go against the grain of today.

Aaron Rogers dropped here and that was a shock. He managed to still land in the first round though. The first pick was QB Alex Smith. Alex was disliked by the media from the get go. A very mobile fluid athletic QB who could run he was also very smart. He scored a 40 on his Wonderlic test see post above. Throughout his career the media always downplayed his achievements despite leading teams to playoffs.

Yes there was a time Oklahoma had key white players and I liked Dan Cody a quicksilver star DE. He was chosen in the 2nd round but an early injury ruined his NFL career. LB Brady Poppinga was a 4th round pick. There were quite a few other front seven white players chosen too including in the first round.

But two things stand out most. Ex QB Matt Jones a favorite here who ran a 4.37 40 at the combine to go along with a 39 1/2 vertical. He was the best athlete in the draft and he was drafted as a WR and was the 21st pick in the first round. Quick quiz? Name a fairly recent white WR chosen in the first round? Jones I believe was black balled out of the NFL. Coming off his best season in 2008 he was suspended for drug abuse and unlike the countless black players of today who have nine lives they cut the cord on Matt for good.

Then I remember this player in the back of my mind. Chase Lyman was a 6'4" WR from Cal. He was a fantastic 4.4 athlete. His stats his junior year read 12-236. Senior year? 14-414 which is nearly 30 yards per catch. But look at that? Would the NFL ever draft a white WR these days with those limited catches? How about a big fat no.

The second thing that stares at one is the DB situation. Three white players were chosen. Trying to get one white DB drafted these days is like pulling teeth. Two safeties chosen in the 4th round Matt Giordano and Sean Considine.

Then the real cherry on top was third round pick Dustin Fox drafted as a CB. He was switched to S in the NFL which was absurd but he was the last white CB drafted that I can recall. 15 years later and nothing. Caste slotting practice at it's best.

That 2005 draft looks like the good ole days compared to the caste by the numbers we will see this go around.

Anthony Gonzalez was drafted in the first round.

My memory of the '05 draft is different than yours. Lyman was injury prone but averaged over 21 yards a catch as a junior and just under an incredible 30 yards a reception as a senior at Cal. He was an unbelievable talent and should have been drafted early based on his upside lol. Being selected by the Saints automatically meant he would get no opportunity in the NFL.

The big controversy over Matt Jones going into the draft was whether he should play wide receiver or tight end. As I've written several times before, my lasting memory from that draft is Jones being selected by Jacksonville and ESPN running a graphic that said "Matt Jones, tight end." The same absurdity that surrounded whether Toby Gerhart and Brian Leonard were running backs or fullbacks, not to mention many other tall and fast White receivers who were pigeon-holed as tight end prospects for the NFL no matter that their metabolisms made it impossible for them to beef up to tight end proportions even if they wanted to.

Fox, Giordano and Considine were all greatly shortchanged by the NFL in addition to Jones. Giordano was super fast and should have been a cornerback at Cal and drafted as such by the NFL. Also, Fox was drafted as a safety not a CB and never got a shot at his natural position.

Just 5 Whites taken in the first round in '05, it was a business as usual draft with a few anomalies.

Now before you guys kill me, I’m not saying he’s a 1st rounder. In fact I think he’s the ideal mid round developmental pick (4th or 5th). Hurts and Tagovailoa wouldn’t even be on my draft board if I was a GM.

I disagree. I've heard both Tua and Jordan Love speak. Tua sounds way more intelligent. Love sounds like your typical street thug. Love also makes stupid decisions off the field as well. While marijuan in and of itself isn't really a big deal, getting busted for it is monumentally stupid. Also, as for their play on the field. Tua is a much more accurate passer and played against better competition. If I have to choose between the two of them, it's Tua and it's not even close.
