the Ravens completed 12 passes to their three Whight (trademark) ends (on 14 targets) for 151 yards and 2 touchdowns. the two black quarterbacks only completed 6 balls to their black receivers.

this is a legitimate strategy for young, inexperienced (and especially scattershot) passers.

you see a lot of Whight end targets with Mahomes, as well as most of the other young game changers. you saw it with Wentz for the Eagles, too, until “muh raycissm” was cried out in the locker room.

why do the coaching staffs of Trubisky, Fitzpatrick, Jones, and other White qbs not use a similar method for their inconsistent but highly mobile signal callers?

Uncle Chris for whatever reason has always been very complimentary of Sean Lee over the years, easily his favorite (possibly only) non-QB white player.

Another good thing today was KC losing helps the Pats seeding probably for homefield advantage come playoff time. Good thing the Pats can heal up on their bye today and tear it up next week.

Patrick Laird has 2 receptions now. It's a start but give him the ball. Let him run it. Their starting rb is averaging 2 yards per carry. That is horrible. Give Laird the ball. :)

He only got 2 carries while ballage got the majority of snaps and was ineffective. I am sure Laird could at least gotten 50 yards on the ground.

Same could be said in Chicago, Detroit and Arizona....
We have guys riding pine while less qualified ball carriers play.
They keep drafting backs in Foxboro, too.....
Are they really better than Rex?

So Baltimore beats a terrible team and Jackson's spin move "has everybody talking". I'm thinking this wouldn't even be a story if melanin were reversed.

Yeah I think Randall Cunningham and Michael Vick were doing spin moves before Lamar.

I didn't see this game but I got caught the drift of this approach in their game against the Pats.

Marquise Brown their speedster WR has been targeted 43 times this year with 24 catches. Not a good average. And in todays game just like the opener most all of his big plays are surprises. I believe today his huge chunk play was a deep shot on first down. Once defenses are properly set up Brown has not been effective at all.

Against the Bengals here are the "meat of the order" stats from their three tight ends:

Nick Boyle--4-78

Mark Andrews 6-53-2

Hayden Hurst-2-20

These tight ends run proper patterns and also serve as Lamar Jackson's security blanket. Without them as a crutch this team would be lost in an offense where the wide receivers are free lance run deep scattershot types and Jackson would struggle in a conventional set up anyway.

This scheme is working for now but it remains to be seen if this system will work when the going gets rough? I have my doubts but the Ravens do have a terrific fleet of tight ends.

Thielen is sitting this one out.

I'm so happy to see Kirk Cousins continue to play well. I will always say that the Redskins were dumb to give him up. The Vikings have a very talented team and
they just need to get healthy before the playoffs. Hope they can win this game. Up 28-21 in the 4th quarter at Dallas. Bring it home Vikings!

A big time bummer. Also notice S Jeff Heath hasn't played since an early series. I believe he injured his shoulder. Two important caste busting players missing in action.

Vikings Win. This game was so important. Hard fought victory with a depleted offense. Glad they got it done. Cousins was amazing under pressure and repeatedly rolled
out to buy time to find open receivers. He looked like Aaron Rogers tonight. Big Win! :)

Bears eek out a victory, fortunately it was because Mitch Trubisky looked competent and was allowed to throw the ball down field and not play handcuffed! Once again, Nick Kwitkowski proves that he is a starting Linebacker in this league as he has now come of the bench in two games in which he wasn't supposed to really see any defensive snaps and turned out to be one of the best defensive players on the field! DWFs and Chicago sports media cant hide this anymore. Hopefully Ryan Nall gets an opportunity to prove himself soon. Im not overly optimistic, but I didn't expect him to suit up in a bears uniform this season and he did so who knows!

No kidding! Nick Kwiatkowski filled the stat sheet:

10 tackles (9 solo and 1 for a loss)
1 sack
1 interception
1 pass defense

Fantastic game, but typical of what he’s shown anytime he’s allowed to start.

Targets? We probably don't mention them enough here at CF but yesterday was a master class lesson on what has been happening in the NFL and at the college level. And we wonder why white WR production is way down these days?

Much like basketball where the biggest shot takers are black and by a large margin mind you, in football blacks receivers receive on average a lot more targets. The discrepancy is wide and long. You can't catch balls unless you are targeted.

Cooper Kupp was targeted a measly 4 times yesterday. An unheard of total for a player of his talent. Coming off a gigantic game Kupp was not integrated into the Rams offense and lo and behold they lose.

Conversely take a look at that creepy Chiefs speedster T Hill's target and stat line yesterday. He was targeted 19 times and ended up with an 11 catch 157 yard 1 TD game. Since I watched the game at least 60 of those tack on yards could have been prevented if the Titans defensive backs could tackle. They were flummoxed by his little moves and took the worst angles trying to tackle him. Several times he was boxed in but the defenders were so bad they let him slip away.

Meanwhile TE Travis Kelce was targeted 7 times and ended up with a 7-75 stat line. Would have been a lot more but two big plays were called back. I can't recall one time this season where a Tyreek Hill catch and run has been called back.

Think about it. 19 targets in one game. Hell it will take Andy Isabella two full seasons to reach that number the rate he is being used.

Please correct me if I am wrong about receiver play. I think Hill's physical skills are rare that he can actually overcome the usual Blacks' version of route running which I call the "Worm" and produce. I mean most blacks cannot run a crisp route, the worst cases are some usual shakes and shimmies well done then up the field into some area at sometime during the play with sometimes an ability to catch the ball.

I love it! I loved the look of dejection from the magical moolie and fat bastard. That quick scoring offense hurts their defense more than it helps them.
Except in this game the Chiefs dominated time of possession and total number of plays. The quick-scoring offense in this game was the Titans! Fun fact, Fat Bastard is now 1-7 all time against the Titans.

Even Belichick knows the answer to that. Rex' problem is that he can't stay healthy.
