Don is correct, barring an injury to the Bears rookie 3rd round pick, who Nall clearly outplayed during the pre-season and is bigger, faster and more athletic than, it's doubtful he get's any carries. Perhaps an absolute blowout that leads to extended "garbage time" could be another scenario were Nall gets some carries?

Although I think it's very possible Nall replaces Mike Davis in kick coverage. Davis was relegated to special teams a year after having his best pro season with Seattle. Besides special teams, Davis only had 11 carries for 25 yards and 7 receptions for 22 yards as the Bears #3 running back. That does not portend a lot of carries for Nall, who takes over as the Bears #3 running back. In addition to being let go for a lack of performance at running back, Davis was cut by Rodent Nagy because Chicago expects to gain an extra 4th round compensation pick because he was cut before week 10 -- same thing happened to Andrew Sendejo and Donte Moncrief this week.

Some bad news, sort of, the Oakland Raiders released linebacker Quentin Poling, who made his NFL debut Thursday night against the Chargers. Poling a 2018 Miami Dolphins 7th round pick is expected to go back to the Raiders practice squad.

It was also mentioned in another thread that Tennessee has activated wide receiver Cody Hollister from their practice squad. Hopefully get's a chance to make an impact this season.

For once procedural bull s#$t helps a white skilled player, I recall mostly fullbacks getting a one week fantasy camp promotion on the first week of the season because vested veterans won't have their contracts guaranteed after the second week. Mostly these players have been cut and passed over by NFL teams.

PS, Danny Woodhead had this treatment too but had a decent career as a passing down back, so Nall in theory could take this bone and run with it if given the chance, a big if with Nagy.

Glad to hear Ryan Nall is active and that Patrick Laird will get some carries today:

With Nall being active this week, it will mark the 5th time this season a White RB is active for a game. Christian McCaffrey, Rex Burkhead, Zach Zenner, Patrick Laird and Ryan Nall.

I believe from the span of 2010-2012, we normally had 5 White RBs active for a game: Danny Woodhead, Peyton Hillis, Toby Gerhart, Brian Leonard and Chase Reynolds.

It's a real shame that Burkhead once again is battling injury problems as he could be having a huge year to go along with Christian's McCaffrey season for the ages. Sony Michel was okay as a rookie last year but has been a big-time bust this season. His yards per carry is poor (3.3) and he's the worst or second worst RB in the entire league in avoiding tackles. And he also has just seven receptions, showing how one-dimensional he is. Once his ace blocking fullback James Devlin went down, Michel was exposed as the mediocrity he is. And the running back New England drafted this year in the third round out of Alabama, Damien Harris, has been inactive almost all season, which means he hasn't shown much at all thus far.

But there's still time for Rex to salvage 2019 and be a key cog in the Patriots' offense for the rest of the regular season and into the playoffs. It's really now or never for him as it's hard to see the Patriots continuing to stick with him after 2019 if he simply can't stay healthy for more than a game or two at a time.

Speaking of great fullbacks, there's a good chance Kyle Juszczyk -- Booger McFarland's favorite White player, in fact maybe the only White player he likes -- returns for the 49ers this week. Like James Devlin, he's a tremendously important cog for his team's offense, even more so given his receiving skills and underused running ability.

I am really looking forward to today. Haven’t posted much lately. My wife and I are enjoying a long weekend getaway on the coast. I will be playing a round of golf this morning and coming back to enjoy the Panthers game. I look forward to everyone of CF members posts on the games today.
Thank y’all,
CS

Matt Stafford is as tough as they come but even he can't play through this:

Matthew Stafford (hip, back) is out for Week 10 against the Bears.
Stafford went for an MRI Friday, which revealed fractured bones in his back. The veteran wanted to play through it, but couldn't get the green light from Detroit's medical staff. Sunday's absence will spell the end of Stafford's streak of 136 consecutive regular-season starts, the sixth-longest run by an NFL quarterback.

Chiefs gifted a "fumble". Tannehill was down, had his hand on the ball and gave himself up.

Two TD catches for Mark Andrews. Kelce has one and lost another due to a holding penalty.

By the way LB Drue Tranquill has been all over the field. Looks like a future star.

Good young crop of backers out of this draft..

Tranquill, Holcomb, Cashman, and Connolly all made immediate impact on their teams, and should all go into 2020 as starters..

As predicted on here, Nall has yet to see the field. They have had two 3rd and 1 plays. They decided to put their TE in the backfield ( i **** you not) on one play and empty backfield on the other. Rodent Nagy clearly has no plans for him barring massive injuries.

Even then he would bring over 2 WR’s and a black center first.

Young QBs Daniel Jones and Sam Darnold both playing well so far in the Battle of New York.

That Ryan Tannehill guy is a rather massive upgrade over great-Poly-hope Mariota. Beautiful TD pass to Anthony Firkser.

Bears offense scoreless near the end of the first half. Rodent Nagy and Adam Gase have to be the two most over-rated "offensive geniuses" since Brian Billick.

Yea they both look sharp - these seasons are not lost - experience counts for alot. Both organizations need to build around them and give them weapons to be successful.

Nice to hear Charles Davis just call Taysom Hill "a tailback playing quarterback."

Another big catch and run by Andy -- 51 yards! Is his ridiculous racial apprenticeship finally ending?

According to the box score it was actually a 55 yard catch & run. Andy Isabella now has 2 catches for 72 yards. it's about damn time the Cardinals play this kid. He is so explosive!

So happy to see the kid finally playing and doing what he was born to do!

Now on the other side of the field we need to see the Tampa Bay Bucs start throwing to Scotty Miller more. He as around 3 catches all year and they never
let the kid go deep. He is just about as fast as Isabella and they are the same height. I want to see "Miller Time" making some big plays. Throw this kid the damn ball. :)
