I agree with what's being said about Nick Fitzgerald. He needs a shot. How that chimp Lamar Jackson got drafted in the first round is beyond me. I hope that ****** loses in the first round.

As far as I can tell Nick Fitzgerald has yet to receive an invite to the Senior Bowl or Shrine Game. It looks like they are just trying to write him off and not give him a shot. Fitzgerald has his limitations as a passer but so does Lamar Jackson who is being celebrated as a "game changer". If more teams are deciding to once again take it back to 2012 and run that same offense then Fitzgerald should be considered a draft worthy pick. For as productive as he was in the supposed best conference against the supposed best athletes he should for sure be getting shown more respect during the all star bowl game process/combine.
I’ve not followed college football for a few seasons now so I ask out of ignorance. How does Fitzgerald compare to Dak Prescott? They both are mobile QBs who I assume played in a similar system at the same school against similar competition? Thanks.

Is it really necessary to refer to him this way? Seems like a genuine down-to-earth nice guy.

Lamar Jackson will have to continue improving as a passer if he wants to stick as a Starter in the NFL.... The running ability alone will only take him so far. His frame will not allow too much punishment. That style won't sneak up on anybody next season.

Fitzgerald must improve as a Passer...might bounce around Practice Squads for a while; then land a Taysom Hill -type role or not. Fitzgerald is taller than Dak & Taysom. Not as low to the ground to take those shots.

Why is Tim Tebow not still in the NFL?? If Dak is starting in the NFL...He's comparable to Tebow...Dak is avg. at Best...he needs a excellent supporting cast to thrive.

He was informed about the prohibition against racial slurs by Football Dad regarding a post he made right after the post he wrote about Jackson and said he wouldn't do it anymore. Hopefully that's case.

22 is spot on. If Jackson doesn't improve as a passer, which many of us believe he won't, then he will eventually be moved aside. And as with all running QBs they have to be careful otherwise they will constantly be banged up. That is what happened to the previous black running QB savior RG3. Eventually RG3 suffered a bad knee injury.

As for Fitzgerald he basically grades out as a tall RB. He has the instincts of a good RB. The natural inclination is to consider a position change to TE. But I doubt Fitzgerald will ever to be able to block and since he has never caught a pass or run receiver patterns that is a huge stretch to say the least.

You have to line him up in the back field as a QB/RB. It will take an imaginative offensive mind but there is a place in the NFL for Fitzgerald. The problem is he doesn't fit into the usual categories. Still I would line him up on a lot of swing run pass option plays and let him do his thing. Also draw variations. He could help a team if given a chance. Sadly teams will likely not go out of their way to fit a white player like Fitzgerald into their offense even after Taysom Hill has shown it can work.

While there has been some buzz regarding athletic QB Eric Dungey as a Taysom Hill type I would be shocked if he gets drafted.

The QB that best fits the Taysom Hill mold is Trace McSorley. I have Trace graded out as high as a fifth round pick but because he is injured and may not be able to show off his athleticism before the draft I am worried teams will let him fall by the wayside. It would depend on the circumstances, draft needs and team set up but I would be more likely to draft Trace because I like the options a Taysom Hill type player can bring to the table.

I've never liked the idea bringing in a player in certain situations as the Saints do with Taysom Hill. It never seems to work long term. Everyone in the place knows when Hill comes in, the play will be centered around him. It should be easy to defend. Taysom Hill is good enough to be a full time RB in the NFL. If the Saints can't use him for that, trade him and let some team who has overrated RB's under performing and make him a 1-2 RB option!
I know, I know.... that will never happen.
BTW, that's ONE of the reasons McCaffrey didn't flourish last year. He was coming into obvious situations where everyone in the stadium knew he would be involved in the play. This year, being made the number 1 RB, he showed what he could do!

I think a good way to use Fitzgerald would be as a goal line/short yardage option. He can run and throw on option or play action plays near the goal line and if he can block and catch maybe use him in an H-back type role. He definitely has the frame to play tight end but teaching someone to block for the first time against NFL linemen and linebackers is not very ideal.

Junior Clemson S Tanner Muse will be in the spotlight Monday night. A starting white DB in the championship game. I have to think which was the last college champ to feature a white DB. In fact which was the last Super Bowl winner to feature one? Have to think about that.

Reading the tea leaves Tanner seems to be leaning on declaring for the draft. The problem? His draft report grade wasn't what he had hoped which means he could miss being drafted. From what I can gather they listed him from 6th round to UDFA.

In my mind another year in college will help solidify his standing. It is riskier for him to jump at this point.

Either way wouldn't it be great if he really shined Monday night. And S Nolan Turner will be in the spotlight too but he is just a sophomore.

I hope Muse stays for his senior season - will actually be fun to watch Clemson next year with two white DBs starting and Lawrence slinging the ball. Muse declaring early will probably be the Ryan Nall situation all over again so I would rather see him stay and improve his draft stock (I personally think he is a 3rd-4th rounder already but the caste NFL would probably disagree).

Every year it is mind boggling how many underclassmen declare - diluting the product at the next level but fooling the "experts" each year because of upside. If the NFL wanted to improve the product on the field they should make college graduation a requirement and set an age limit. Since that is the way it is I can only support the white athletes who declare early as well because they typically are going to be players who received a favorable draft grade at a not totally caste positon - OL, TE, QB etc to even out the numbers. Guys like Bosa are the exception - highly touted, skilled, athletic and productive - its rare for a white player to garner that praise and typically when they do they pan out as very good to good. As we saw last year though with Nall - a big, fast, productive RB who tested better than many black RBs was relegated to the PS all year and everyone wanted to change him from a RB to a FB/H-Back.

Once all the dust settles - I believe players can declare until January 15th I will get to work doing my positional rankings. This draft is hard to really gauge if it will be good (relatively speaking of course) or as bad as the 2015 draft. The Shrine game and Senior bowl are right around the corner so I will do my best to provide updates on our guys as the draft process moves ahead.

I am always encouraged and enjoy reading other members posts in this thread - looking forward to lots of contributions from board members as the 2019 draft approaches!

This is my favorite time of the year! I pretty much exclusively post about college football and the draft so I’m excited around this time. I think I’ll try to post my rankings of our top 5 guys at each position at some point. I’m pretty intrigued with the amount of defensive prospects this year. Where I’m very confused on is where our wide receivers stand. I don’t see many of them getting drafted but we have a lot of seniors who put up solid but not great numbers in their careers and there’s always a few that end up sticking around but never cracking the active roster (Nelson Spruce). Sills, Isabella, and Renfrow are pretty much locks to be drafted and I think we have at least 3-4 others who deserve to get picked like Scott Miller and maybe some FCS guys.

Duke QB Daniel Jones invited to the Senior Bowl. There are now 8 QBs participating in the Senior Bowl. Jones is getting whispers of a Wentz like buzz. Wentz crushed the Senior Bowl which led him to be a big time draft riser. We can only hope Jones enjoys a similar trajectory. He does cross off alot of the check marks Wentz did as well - Tall, athletic, mobile however Jones does not have the arm Wentz does. Wentz probably has a top 5 arm in the NFL - Jones has good arm strength but it is not eye popping. Jones does have the benefit of being coach by David Cutcliffe (he has coached both Peyton and Eli Manning) so that should help with questions about his pedigree and knowledge of the game. With the OSU black quarterback Haskins probably declaring it looks like he along with Jones will be the two highest rated QBs.

The 8 QBs with Senior Bowl invites are Drew Lock, Clayton Thorson, Trace McSorely, Will Grier, Daniel Jones, Gardner Minshew, Jarret Stidham, Ryan Finley. Not a bad group - I doubt McSorley is drafted (and if he is not as a QB), Thorson is a late round guy at this point and Finley who I liked coming into the season kind took a downward trajectory and my guess is his stock has done the same - he needs to answer questions about arm strength. Minshew is a wildcard at this point - could be a later round guy or be a riser - he was damn fun to watch this year playing at Washington St.

The big 4 are Drew Lock, Daniel Jones, Will Grier and Jarrett Stidham. Prior to the college season Lock, Grier and Stidham all were getting first round projections. Stidham did have somewhat of a down year but I feel that was due more to the Auburn offense then his ability - he played very well as a freshman at Baylor and last year at Auburn. He has a good arm, mobility and size. Grier improved in every category and is suddenly facing questions about his size and arm strength (mind you the media is hyping up a 5'8 quarterback from Oklahoma with less arm strength than Grier as a 1st rounder). Lock is pretty much Jay Cutler 2.0 to me in terms of physical ability - they are both about the same size, same type of arm strength and good mobility. These 4 have a good shot at developing as next level starters and all should be drafted in rounds 1-3.

That upside laden Buffalo qb declared. Must realize he will be exposed since his one WR is off to the pros.

Next Logan Thomas!

I'm keeping my eye on Easton Stick. Wouldn't mind Green Bay selecting him mid rounds.

I am curious to see how Easton Stick does as well. He is a great athlete. Have to imagine a non-white dual threat qb from a dominant FCS program would be getting a lot more attention than Stick is currently.

No doubt. Stick deserves some hype starting right here and right now in this thread!

The latest buzz is all of the "Taysom Hill" types will be invited to the combine and that includes Nick Fitzgerald, Trace McSorley and Eric Dungey. Sounds great on the surface but..... McSorley might have a broken foot. My thinking is that both Fitzgerald and McSorley would open enough eyes at the combine and slip in as late round picks.

But as it stands despite the possible combine invite the buzz is none of the above get drafted. Even so if McSorley is healthy by combine time I think he could get drafted. Same goes for Fitzgerald. I would hope teams will look at these players with open eyes. Hell they gave Lamar Jackson the red carpet treatment and then some.

As for WR Andy Isabella I have him graded as a top ten pick. You heard it here first. None of this half ass middle round crap. He may be the best player in the draft. I see a lot of Julian Edelman in him. For the record Julian has two Super Bowl rings and to put a fine point on it, the Patriots would not have won either without his heroics.

Nelson, another Nordic Beast Iowa has stockpiled along the DL! Looking forward to him entering the league!

NYG DWFs want Haskins. I'm all for it.

You and me both. The Giants have been a caste team as far back as I can remember. Jim Fassel at least had Sehorn and Shockey. Since then it has been as rigidly caste as any team I can recall.

I'm going to have to disagree men. If Jerry Reese was still the Giants' GM I'd be all for Haskins going to Big Blue. However, after about 15 (plus) years of Reese and his mentor, Ernie Accorsi, going full-caste, the team has a chance to turn the corner and become watchable again. They took small steps last season, purging Reese's multiple bust OT's and signing Nate Solder to a huge deal. Also signed Josh Mauro, Nate Stupar and Connor Barwin who started some on defense. In addition, head coach Pat Schurmur is the goy that lobbied to keep Adam Theilen on Minnesota's roster and turned him into a starting Pro Bowler.

Let's not forget, Giants current GM came from Carolina. I believe he drafted Kuechly. He definitely stuck his neck out and drafted CMAC, a very rare white tailback/halfback from Stanford.

He might've also drafted Cam Newton, but that was with the first pick and Cam was declared the undisputed and "consensus #1" by the media. Is there any way a GM of a quarterback needy team could've shunned Newton and kept his job?

Personally, I would love it if Haskins went to the most Caste team of the last 30 plus years, the Arizona Cardinals. But the presence of Abner Rosenstein (White Shadow reference) makes that very unlikely. I also expect that once the Kosher media "hype-train" gets into full gear, Haskins will be seen as the "franchise quarterback", worthy of the first overall pick. Once that happens, clueless teams will be lining up to trade up for that #1 overall from the Cards. I doubt the Giants will mortgage their future for Haskins, but who knows?

If not the Cardinals, I'd love to see Tampa or Oakland trade up for Haskins. Tampa, like the Giants, seemed to be trending less-caste last off-season, but the Arians hire has me concerned. Also, Haskins would merely be pushing out Winston. It will be quite the conundrum for former first round bust Byron Leftwich, now running the offense in Tampa. Does he go out and get himself a new quota in Haskins or does he stick with "Brother Jameis"?

The woefully undersized Oklahoma black quarterback is going to be declaring for the draft now. Going to be a tough draft to follow. Can’t wait to see who drafts a 5’8 franchise qb in the first round that cannot make all the required nfl throws :risas3:. How many nfl geniuses watch the Ravens anemicn offensive performance? Will any of them learn?
