Sam Dekker had a career-defining night, Koenig's passing was incredible, Kaminsky kept grinding amidst constant attention, and Gasser was fantastic on defense.

Let's hope that somehow, someway, this team hoists the title on April 6th...

We now have Gonzaga, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Notre Dame in the Elite 8. Let's see if the Irish can slay the Kentucky beast tomorrow. They will need to get very hot from the 3-point line and play a tough 2-3 zone, but stranger things have happened. If they pull off this win it will be one of the biggest college basketball upsets of all time.

Pretty good results so far. Arizona is good but they will fall short again to Wisconsin. I expect Dekker to shut down Stanley Johnson just like he did to Tokoto! Btw congrats to Sam on his first double double this year nonetheless in Sweet 16!

Karnowski came up big for Gonzaga near the basket while their field goal shooters were cold.

Bill Raftery, who was one of the three announcers along with Jim Nantz and Grant Hill, said something idiotic after a Karnowski score to the effect of "he'll never make the Olympics as a speed runner." True, there aren't a lot of 7' 1" 300 pound sprinters. A-hole.

One of the announcers also said Karnowski couldn't jump over the Sunday edition of the New York Times (or some such nonsense) after talking about how many points he had keeping Gonzaga in the game........it never ends.

The commentators went on , and on, all game about Karnowskis lack of athleticism. Every time he scored, or got a rebound they would snap off an anti White talking point. Several times when UCLA would score they would blame Karnowski for his lack of quickness. They probably hinted at his lack of REAL athleticism 30 times last night!

Yep, Notre Dame vs. Kentucky will be a huge caste matchup..........and if ND wins it will be talked about for a long time.........not to mention my brackets are done without a ND win........LOL

To be fair, Karnowski looked completely gassed in the final minutes. To my admittedly non-expert eyes, Sabonis looked like the better player.

That was the comment that irked me a bit as well. I don't think he would ever say that about say Georgetown's fat center, 6-10 350 lb Josh Smith. Oh wait, he didn't. Raftery was one of the announcers during the Big East Tournament, actually praised him for his "nimble quickness." :icon_eek: He also literally pointed out every small thing he did right, even though Smith couldn't stay in the game for long stretches. Even the people I was watching the game with began to get tired of it.

Anyway, nice to see Gonzaga back in the Elite Eight!! How great would it be if there was a Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Gonzaga, and Michigan State Final Four? There would be no all black teams!

Karnowski had 18 points, 9 boards, 2 great assists (to Sabonis) and 2 blocks yesterday. He is huge at 7-1, 300 pounds, has excellent touch and patience in the low post, and can find the open man out of the low post. Sabonis is very good for a freshman, is an aggressive offensive rebounder with effective low post moves, but Karnowski is the better player right now. If Gonzaga gets to the final game against Kentucky they are going to need both of them to come up big against Kentucky's 7 foot suppa affletes.

I think it would be a crime if Pangos doesn't make the nba. The same could be said for McConnell with AZ. Both of thees kids can shoot, play strong defense, are athletic and the can pass as good as anyone in college. Both kids deserve a shot and if they get legitiamate playing time could eventually be stars in the nba. They talked crap about Steve Nash coming out of college. We know why? These guys just have to keep proving themselves.

Tight game. I think turnovers and fouls will benefit Wisconsin. As Arizona tires Wisconsin will take advantage with their experience and mental edge.

This is just an impression, but it just seems like through the regular season, one is faced with a surfeit of interchangeable all-black teams, but when you get deep in the tournament, you see a disproportionate number of teams with white contributors.

That Caliperi and his program are so hinky. I really don't want to see them win it all.
