sophomore wideout River Cracraft was the only Washington State receiver who could get open against a talented Stanford secondary in the Cougars loss. he finished the contest with game-highs of 14 catches and 100 yards and 1 touchdown, a clutch 4th down grab that brought WSU back to within a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

when will he begin to receive the credit he deserves as a talented athlete?

Senior Wr Adam Humphries had a beautiful punt return for a Td vs Louisville this past weekend. He showcased great agility and breakaway speed. He isn't a top option in clemsons coal black offense but
it was nice to see him flash his athleticism as a punt return man.

Definitely a bummer but maybe Boroughs will get more targets now.

That catch and run by Switzer was a thing of beauty.

I do believe that some strides have been made at the WR position at the college level. There seems to be an uptick in the number of white WRs.

With that said two of the best RBs in the country are Tyler Varga and Zach Zenner. It's a shame they didn't get recruited to be RBs at division 1 schools.
I beleive Varga was offered by Baylor. Varga is from Canada and I cannot recall one white rb from Texas being offered by Baylor let alone U. of T or schools like Texas Tech.

He got married less than a year ago and just had a baby a little over a month or two ago. Family is very important but he will be back. I guarantee that. He is very passionate about sports and the cause in general outside of sports. I love his posts too. Hope your enjoying life Mr. Chitwood. We look forward to seeing you back here again soon.

I was not sure where to post this and as dismal as the U. of Kansas football has been, super athletic wr , Colin Spencer, has been moved back to corner/nickelback where he should be. We have tons of great wr's but not nearly enough corners in my opinion. He has 6 tackles on the year but it is unclear if they are using him as a special teams demon for the moment.

Don't sleep on true freshman WR Trey Quinn (LSU)...Last Saturday vs. #3 Ole Miss he lead all Tiger WR's w 2 catches for 42 yards...not eye popping numbers; however LSU is a VERY run oriented team with a struggling young QB who ONLY completed 8 of 16 passes in a 10-7 victory.

One can only wonder how impressive the numbers would be for Quinn with NFL/Titans-rookie QB Zach Mettenberger? LSU's QB last season...Trey is a tremendous route runner w 4.4 speed & already knows ALL 3 WR positions...

An NFL Scout has compared Trey Quinn(6'-0" 194) as a faster version of Brandon Stokley who was in the NFL for 15 years!

Just my 2 cents but comparing Quinn to Stokely is crazy. Quinn is faster, taller , has better hands, can jump out of the gym, has great body control and can run after the catch with the best. I forgot that LSU was so run orientated. If he was playing for Florida State or a pass orientated team he would almost be a household name right now. Not to knock on Stokley but he was mostly a posession receiver with decent speed.

Some bad news as Purdue WR Danny Anthrop tore his ACL and is out for the rest of the year. He was a pleasant surprise this year.

thanks for the vote of confidence, white lightning. your math is a little off (i was married 2 1/2 years ago), but you are spot on with the rest of your post. my wife and i have a happy, healthy baby girl who is keeping me VERY busy. my time at CF is limited and sporadic at the moment, but i will be around as often as possible.

*****************************

here are some performances from the weekend of October 25th, the last time i had a chance to compile information:

samrogers_zps68f7f177.jpg

Sam Rogers (fullback) - game-high 47 yards on 3 catches for VA Tech. he also had 3 carries for 18 yards.

Drew Morgan (Arkansas) - game-high 44 yards on 1 catch (and only 1 target)

thomassperbeck_zps9040ffd9.jpg

Thomas Sperbeck (Boise State) - game-and-career-highs of 6 catches, 148 yards, and 1 touchdown (a 78-yard catch-and-run). just think, he was wasting away on the bench until Matt Miller (arguably Boise State's all-time best wideout) was injured. i guess even Boise State can't have two dominant White wideouts on the field at the same time ...

colbypearson_zps29a4b5ef.jpg

Colby Pearson (BYU) - the walk-on had team-highs of 5 catches for 109 yards and 1 touchdown (an 81-yard catch-and-run)

isaacfruechte_zpsd3cdaea4.jpg

Isaac Fruechte (Minnesota) - a team-high 3 catches for a game-high 105 yards and 1 touchdown (a beautiful 52-yard sprint). at 6-foot-3 and a former standout track and field athlete, it will be interesting to see if he gets a shot at the NFL.

mikedudek_zps58be5468.jpg

Mike Dudek (Illinois) - game-high 5 catches for a team-high 41 yards. the freshman also completed 1 pass for 22 yards.

alexerickson_zps769786bc.jpg

Alex Erickson (Wisconsin) - team-high 5 catches for a game-high 121 yards and 1 touchdown (from 47 yards)

jordantaylor_zps9635eb58.jpg

Jordan Taylor (Rice) - team-high 4 catches for game-high 137 yards and 1 touchdown (an 88-yard bomb)

chasecochran_zps1fdc6fb0.jpg

Chase Cochran (Ohio) - team-highs of 4 catches, 110 yards, and 1 touchdown (a 66-yard stroll)

Nelson Spruce (Colorado) - team-highs of 6 catches for 63 yards

ronwilloughby_zps2ec9f8bc.jpg

Ron Willoughby (Buffalo) - team-highs of 4 catches for 90 yards and 1 touchdown

Christian McCaffrey (Stanford tailback) - 2 catches for 52 yards, including a spectacular 42-yard touchdown catch-and-run

Tanner Gentry (Wyoming) - game-high 6 catches for team-high 96 yards and 1 touchdown

joehansley_zpsa1f5410c.jpg

Joe Hansley (Colorado State) - 4 catches for 97 yards and 1 touchdown

Jake Wieneke (South Dakota State freshman) - game-highs of 10 catches for 178 yards and 1 touchdown

and a quick recap of last week (i probably missed some guys) …

MaxMorrison_zpsdc8b2029.jpg

Max Morrison (Cincinnati) - team-high 5 catches for 57 yards and 1 touchdown. he looks to have impressive physical tools, so i am curious as to why he isn't more of a focal point for their passing game ...

Matt Vandeberg (Iowa) - game-highs of 5 catches for 90 yards

JesseJames_zpsee9f6851.jpg

Jesse James (Penn State) the tight end finished with 5 catches for 48 yards and 1 touchdown

Jordan Taylor (Rice) - game-highs of 6 catches for 115 yards and 1 touchdown, a 63-yard strike. since returning from injury, Taylor has been unstoppable.

JJWorton_zps5c2e5f66.jpg

J.J. Worton (Central Florida) - game-highs of 11 catches for 178 yards and 1 touchdown, a 73-yard bomb for the "possession" receiver

Ryan Switzer (North Carolina) - a game-high 9 catches for the Tarheel lightning strike, but for only 44 yards. he added 1 carry for 6 yards and 2 punt returns for 24

Sam Rogers (Va Tech fullback) - catches for 70 yards. the big plays keep piling up for the "blue collar overachiever"

Willie Byrn (Va Tech) - 6 catches for 68 yards. i think he is a VERY good player, but he is VASTLY under-utilized.

NelsonSpruce_zps9f4b7fa8.jpg

Nelson Spruce (Colorado) - game-highs of 13 catches for 138 yards. is he the best wideout to ever play at Colorado?

TrentTaylor_zps2de00567.jpg

Trent Taylor (Louisiana Tech) - game-highs of 9 catches for 113 yards and 3 touchdowns

Bo Hines (NC State) - game-high 6 catches but for just 21 yards

Mitch Matthews (BYU) - game-highs 6 catches for 60 yards. i feel he is mis-used by the offensive coordinator.

Colby Pearson (BYU) - 3 catches for 45 yards and 1 touchdown, a nice follow-up performance by the former walk-on who couldn't get on the field until the "real" wideouts were injured

Jordan Westerkamp (Nebraska) - team-highs of 3 catches and 58 yards

Danny Anthrop (Purdue) - game-highs of 4 catches and 80 yards before going down with a seson-ending injury

Michael Bennett (Georgia) - game-highs of 6 catches for 60 yards

Tyler Baker (Washington State) - game-high 9 catches for a team-high 89 yards for the walk-on, filling in for River Cracraft who was out with an injury

HunterHenry_zps7ab7c113.jpg

Hunter Henry (Arkansas) - game-high 7 catches for a game-and-career-high 110 yards for the sophomore tight end

Devon Cajuste (Stanford) - game-highs of 5 catches for 116 yards

CurrySexton_zps8e1211f7.jpg

Curry Sexton (Kansas State) - game-highs of 9 catches for 159 yards and 1 touchdown for the former walk-on

Mike Dudek (Illinois) - team-highs of 3 acthces and 68 yards

Adam Drake (Eastern Illinois) - game-highs of 6 catches, 115 yards, and 3 touchdowns

Cooper Kupp (Eastern Washington) - game-highs of 9 catches, 111 yards, and 1 touchdown

only because he had a wide known highlight video of him hurdling multiple guys in a tough division for Houston football (I think it was Houston area right?). They threw him in as a true freshman and when he didn't automatically look like barry. sanders they called him a bust even though he did well as an undersized true freshman. Then he got a concussion going across the middle where his qb left him out to dry, for a should be game winning catch that set up the fg If i recall correctly, but they missed and lost to Toledo. Then while recovering from a concussion they put him on kickoff returns against the OSU, the biggest rivarly game in college sports, or one of them, and everyone is looking for a killshot on the internet sensation. He had 1200 yards from scrimmage one of his years at Rice but the hype died

They loved how that turned out so next time there is any hype with a White rb they can bring him up "see what happens? "

If you go on his twitter page his parents are the first pick, and it is pretty clear his parents are white.
