Wow! What a game for white players! Robbie Hummel comes off the bench in the 4th quarter with 10 points and 3 boards in about 11 minutes to help give Minnesota the win over Philadelphia, 106-99.

Four white players in this game with 20 or more points. First, Spencer Hawes tried to keep the Sixers in it with..
20 points/6 rebs./3 ast./3 blks.

For Minnesota...

Love, 26/15/5
Pekovic, 20/10/3
Rubio!!!, 21/5/7 ast.

and again Hummel great off the bench with 10 points in the 4th!

The Kings just traded a bunch of players to the Raptors including starting pt guard Greivis Vasquez. That might mean some playing time for Jimmer Fredette behind Isiah Thomas who will become the new starting pt guard. Let's hope so .... at least until he gets traded.

Fredette, 13 points in 11 minutes last night.

Hayward, 17/4/4

Nowitzki, 21/7

Lee, 15/11
Bogut 18 rebounds, Warriors defeat Mavs.

I'm hoping the Wolves can at least make the playoffs. They started the season well last year only to play terribly the second half of the season. I notice 6 whites out of thirteen players on the Wolves. Sad that the whitest team is still majority negro at least until Budinger gets back.

Going into the 4th quarter, the Twolves lead the Spurs by 8 points. Kevin Love had 19 points in the 3rd quarter alone. He has 35 points and 12 rebounds with one quarter left! The Spurs were in the World Championship against the Miami Heat last year and this game is in Texas so this is a great performance so far by the Timberwolves. Hoping they can hang on and get the win with Love leading the way!

It's all tied up at 102 a piece. Five minutes to go. Kevin Love is 8 out of 9 from three point range. I don't think even the Legendary Larry Bird was ever that hot from behind the line. Incredible long range shooting from the mvp of the nba in my opinion. He won't win it but he deserves to. The sad thing is that other than Pekovic, most of the Twolves have gone cold. Love needs some help or they will lose.

Another close loss. This is what can keep the Twolves out of the playoffs. They are now 0-6 in close games this year. It's painful to watch becuse I know Chase could make a difference. I can't believe how bad Martin played tonight. He is usually a good shooter. Love was sensational but didn't get enough help. What a shame. They have to find a way to close out these kinds of games of they will be sitting at home come playoff time like the last decade or longer.

Yes WL, just when Rubio seems to be coming around. He's averaging over 17 points/game over the last 3! They can't get enough consistency off the bench either.

Love, 42/14/2
Pekovic, 18/11
Rubio, 15/4/8...

Could be another good night for white players. Dragic 28 points, still in the 3rd quarter.

I agree that Rubio is playing alot better. He had a 3 go in and out with around a minute to go. He didn't hesitate and it should have went in. Ginobli was fun to watch on the Spurs as usual. His shooting, dribbling, cutting ability and athletecism never ceases to amaze me. Despite his age he is something special. The big 3 of San Antonio refuse to ever go down with out a fight and that is why they are still one of the top 3 teams in the nba.

Dragic is lighting it up again. Hope the Suns can win and he can put in around 35 or more. I want to see him get his scoring average up to 20 points a game. He is not too far away. I would like to see them get Plumlee more involved in the offense. He was a key factor early in the season in some of their wins but he has not been involved as much the last month or so. I wish Len could get healthy and also get some playing time as he needs to grow and mature as a player.

I'm interested to see what kinds of trades go down in the next month or two. Many teams need to make moves to improve including Minnesota. It should be fun to watch. I still can't wait for Fredette to get out of Sacramento!

Tonight's stats leaders. Probably as big of an overall night in a while. White players really stepping up lately, especially when healthy. A lot of white players injured: Redick, Blake, Pachulia, M. Gasol, etc.

Love, MN. 42/14/2
Hayward, UT. 30/13/5
Dragic, PHX. 29/4/3 in 3 quarters!
Bargnani, NY. 22
Leuer, MEM. 19/8
Pekovic, MN. 18/11
Anderson, NO. 18/7
Teletovic, BRK. 17
Korver, ATL. 16/4/3
Singler, DET. 16
Rubio, MN. 15/4/8 ast.
Hawes, PHI. 15/ 4 blks.
P. Gasol, LAL. 14/7
Valanciunas, TOR. 12/13
Vucevic, ORL. 13 boards
Hinrich, CHI. 13/8 ast.
Gortat, WAS. 12/10/6

Jimmer Fredette was rewarded for his 13 point in 11 minute performance the other evening with a whopping 5 minutes tonight. I hope he gets traded to a team that will let him play!

Lee, GS. 17/5, at the half
Bogut, GS. 6/7 "
Parsons, HOU. 14/ 3 ast., at the half

For a number of games last year the Houston Rockets actually started Lin, Parsons, Montiejunas and Asik. At the moment, they only have Parsons with the Israeli Casspi getting minutes off the bench. They have taken a disappointing turn.

On the positive side, the Phoenix Suns are the surprise team in the NBA. Lead by all-star worthy Goran Dragic, they sit in the #6 spot at 14-9. Many experts expected them to be a bottom 5 team. Miles Plumlee went from a bench warmer on the Pacers to an above average stater, providing consistent rebounding and blocked shots. Now if Alex Len could get himself healthy, he'd be a pretty solid bench guy.

Minnesota still handling Portland. End of the third, 97-78. Love, 23/14/9. Really going to need Rubio, Pekovic and the bench to close this out!

That has to be the best game of the year by Minnesota. I still can't wait to see Chase join them very soon. They are going to go on a real tear once this team gets a little more chemistry going. Love has missed so many triple doubles by a whisker. I really hope he gets one soon as he leads in nba in double/doubles just like he does every year. Can you say MVP? For him to get any serious consideration they will have to make the playoffs and make a run at the nba finals. I don't think this team is ready yet but I hope I'm wrong. They still need to go out and get a shot blocker. Their interior defense is very vulnerable where it was a strength last year.

Scoring and Rebounding leaders going into this Friday's games.

Points/Game

3. Love, MN. 25.2, up from no. 7 last week, 42,30, and 29 point performances!
12. Anderson, NO. 21.4, continues to score well.
13. Nowitzki, DAL. 21.1, still has some left in the tank.
24. Dragic, PHX. 19.0, up from 18.4 last week
29. Lee, GS. 17.8, had 32/13 last night.
34. Parsons, HOU. 17.1
35. Hayward, UT. 16.8
36. Pekovic, MN. 16.6, playing well beside Love.
42. M. Gasol, MEM. 16.0, injured
44. Redick, LAC. 15.8, also injured
52. Bargnani, NY. 14.8
52. Hawes, PHI. 14.8, Really need Spencer and Bargnani to step up their game again.

Rebounding...

1. Love, MN. 13.7, MVP !!!!
5. Vucevic, ORL. 11.5, continues to be a rebounding beast!
8. Bogut, GS. 10.2, he and Lee great rebounding combo.
9. Lee, GS. 9.9, now top 10 rebounder.
13. Gasol, LAL. 9.3
18. Hawes, PHI. 9.0
18. Gortat, WAS.9.0
22. Pekovic,MN. 8.7
23. Plumlee, PHX. 8.6
34. Valanciunas, TOR. 7.8
38. M. Gasol, MEM. 7.1

With 5 of our guys in the top 30 in scoring and 9 in the top 25 in rebounding, (4 in top 10), continues to be a good season for white players.

I see at least 5 All-Stars, maybe 6! Been awhile since we had 6 in the All-Star game.

Fredette scored 9 points in Sacramento's loss, in 9 minutes of action.

Correct me if Im wrong, because I havent followed hoops closely this year, but dosent this happen often? I mean Jimmer seems to get lots of buckets for a guy who barely plays? Imagine what he could do if he got 24 minutes a game.

WW, you are kind of correct. If you google Fredette's stats, there's a stat that track's what a player would score per 36 minutes's; it's an estimate, but last year Jimmer's was over 18 points/game, which would put him in the top 30 in scoring, however, this year he's a little over 15 and it would still put him in the top 50. Sadly, he's just not getting consistent minutes.

I think he scored 12 or 13 in about 12 minutes a few nights ago and then he was rewarded with a poultry 5 minutes in the next game where he had a 3 pointer. If given the minutes, he would be at least a J.J. Redick type scorer.
