Question? When was the last time the top 50 NBA scoring leaders had 10 white players in it? Although 5 are in the bottom 46-51, it's not great, but is it a little progress?

Rebounds:
2. Love 14.2
4. Vucevic, 11.8
8. Hawes, 10.6
8. Gasol, 10.6
12. Gortat, 9.8
14. Plumlee, 9.6
17. Lee, 9.4
21. Pekovic, 9.0

...Or 8 white players in the top 21 rebounders. Am I wrong or how long has it been? I haven't kept up with the NBA in years, but lately as you can tell, I have been!

I can see the rebounding but I only counted 8 or so whites in the top 50 in scoring right now. Love, Hayward, Lee, Nowitzki, Kanter, Redick, Parsons and Hawes. Maybe you included Lin and Lopez?

Yeah wa33, I counted Lin but not Lopez. Gasol in a tie for 50 with Hawes. Vucevic at 53. OK 9,10, or 11 in the top 53, depending on how you look at some.

Trying to be positive, to find a reason to watch the NBA.

NBA Points:

2. Kevin Love 27.1
19. Hayward 20.3
30. Nowitzki 18.3
31. Lee 18.2
46. Parsons 16.7
47. Kanter 16.4
49. Redick 16.1
50. Hawes 16.0
50. Gasol 16.0
53. Vucevic 15.8
56. Bargnani 15.0

Bargnani jumped from like number 68 to 56 with his 24 point performance last night!

Parsons 22 points
Lee 20 points.......last night

Again, this isn't great, but it may be a little progress from previous seasons. The players in the 16.0 point range just need to step up and score consistently every night to get into the 20-22 point/game range and maybe it would
give us a few more all-stars.

And the rebounders I thought looked like a lot of progress over the last few years. Almost 40% (8); of the top 21 are white. Not bad considering the NBA is 85% black, right?

I hope I not putting a jinx on the our young men tonight in the NBA, but it's been a pretty good evening so far. If your bored, check out tonight's games and stats. It's already been good for our regular stars and first time activated New Orleans Pelican, I hate that name, Ryan Anderson has 20 points in about 23 minutes.

Does anyone know how many games/ minutes, etc. an NBA player has to play to be included on the stats leader board? Goran Dragic should be listed as in a tie for 46 in NBA scoring, but he's not listed despite playing in 8 games this season, Derrick Rose is listed while playing in only 8 games.

Update on leading white scorers:

4. Love 25.4, has moved from 2nd down to 4th.
11. Ryan Anderson 22.5, but has only played in 2 games.
20. Nowitzki 20.6 up 10 spots.
30. Hayward 18.2, He and Nowitzki have traded places.
32. Lee 17.4, has moved down 1 spot
34. Gasol 17.2, big move up 16 places.
36. Parsons 16.8, up 10 spots.
37. Redick 16.5, up 12 spots
42. Hawes 16.2, up 8
46. Dragic 15.9, should be here, but not listed on the NBA stats yet? He has played in 8 games.
51. Kanter 15.0 down 4
53. Vucevic 14.9 stayed the same
57. Bargnani 14.5 down 1
59. Pekovic 14.2 was previously not in the top 60.

6 players have moved up and 5 have moved down and 1 has stayed the same and 2 more will be added as soon as they have played the required games and or minutes.

The Suns and the Bobcats just tipped off. The Bobcats have Josh McRobert starting with Cody Zeller coming off the bench? Zeller should be in the starting lineup. He was a very high draft pick in first round who some said could have went 1st overall. He has too much talent to not be starting every night. It should be a good game. The Suns start both Plumlee and Dragic. Goran Dragic is coming off a 31 point game the last time out.

The Timberwolves have a tough game in around a half hour against the Brooklyn Nets. They have to quit losing these really close games. They have lost two in a row and have around 5 losses that they could and should have won all if not most of those games. Hope they get back on
track tonight. Man do they ever need Chase Budinger back soon. They need his shooting and defense.

There are rumors of a Sved/Williams trade to the Kings for Fredette/and another player or draft pick. We shall see but I doubt it will happen.

McRoberts had a decent game, 10/6/5
Zeller did well coming off the bench 6 points, but had 9 boards in around 20 mins.!

Dragic followed up his big night with 14/5/8 assists. They still haven't got him in the NBA stats. I'm not sure why?

Anyway, top rebounders as of last night...
2. Love, 13.5
6. Vucevic, 10.9
8. Gasol, 10.6
9. Hawes, 10.3
16. Gortat, 9.2
16. Bogut, 9.2
16. Lee, 9.2
22. Plumlee, 9.0
26. Pekovic, 8.5
30. Pachulia, 8.2
32. Valanciunas, 7.8

It is surprising seeing a small bump in the number of white players in the league. Anyone have an idea what the actual % increase has been over the past 5 or so years?

I wish I knew. I haven't paid much attention to the NBA over the last 4-5 years, but I'm really following now because of the increase. I could be wrong, but I think the % of white players overall counting the Europeans is around 25%.

So far in tonight's action....

Redick 19 points in about 24 minutes or 1 half!

Goran Dragic of Phoenix starting to heat up! 23 points and 13 assists!

Vucevic led Orlando tonight with 20 points and 10 boards.

Not a whole lot to say about tonight's NBA,
Kevin Love's 17 rebound performance last night vaulted him back into the league lead with 13.8/game

Ryan Anderson of New Orleans continues to play well. 21/12 tonight. After 5 games he's avg. 19.2/game.

David Lee 19/7

P. Gasol 17/6/8 assists

Vucevic 12/15

Gortat 15/8

Tonights numbers:

G. Dragic: 31 points/5/10 assists, Phoenix wins.

N.Vucevic is a beast at barely 23 years old for Orlando. 21/16/5 assists and 3 blocks!

M. Gortat: 25/8

P. Gasol: 21/8

Lee: 20/12

Dirk: 22/6

Minnesota's trio,

Love: 19/15
Pekovic: 21/10

Pretty decent night so far, Bargnani has 16/7 at the half for the Knicks.

Great updates guys. Like I've said before, I really want to see Dirk reach 30,000 points eventually. It would be as historic as Jim
Thome in Baseball when he hit his 600th home run. I think he can get there as long as he can stay healthy. I may not agree with
everything Dirk does off the court but he is a legend on it. Keep it up Dirk!

I can't watch a minute of this ghetto, thug ball any more. How is Fredette doing? Still on the same team, stuck to the bench because of his thoroughly racist black coach?

Yeah bigunreal, I don't watch much either, unless Minnesota or Utah is playing, and maybe Golden State or Phoenix. I really didn't pay it much attention until Freethinker did the write up on NBA teams to support and I also noticed there are around a dozen or so white players in the top 50 in scoring and around 12 white players in the top 40 in rebounding! I know that's not much, but when I quit watching the NBA in the early 90's, I don't think there were 12 white players in the whole league, kind of like the NFL in the 90's, right?

I think someone here, maybe Freethinker, said there were 99 white players now in the NBA. That's 25.4% if my calculations are correct! Heck, I thought the NBA was 95% black! Again, 25% isn't great, but that's got to be up from recent years. Also, with Love, Pekovic, Rubio, Dragic, Hawes, Lee, Parsons, Anderson, Vucevic, Hayward, etc. and other white players playing well, it has become a little more interesting.

No, I don't watch much, but I do keep track of the white friendly teams on their website.

Yes, Fredette is still rotting on the Sacramento bench, but there are several other white players doing well, more than I had expected or have seen in recent years.

"I think someone here, maybe Freethinker, said there were 99 white players now in the NBA. That's 25.4% if my calculations are correct" Given that the average pro football team starts 5 whites out of 22, it is about the same as the NFL (minus the kickers).

I want to thank Carolina Speed for doing such a great job with keeping us updated with the scoing and rebounding numbers of our white brothers in the nba. We have quite a few guys who are really turning up their game a notch this year. I'll bet Kirelenko wished he stayed in Minnesota. He only left because he wanted a long term contract. Minnesota offered him a year or two less if I remember right but he was happy there unlike his current situation. Whites just like blacks want to be in a friendly environment where they have a chance to succeed and build friendships at the same time.

Minnesota is still the best team to watch in my opinion. It's very important that they make the playoffs. My two biggest concerns are their lack of shot blocking and lack of outside shooters as I've said before. They let Stiemsma, Kirelenko and Amundsen leave. All of these guys did the dirty work and played hard nosed defense. All three also were some of the best shot blockers in the league. Love and Pekovic are amazing players but they are not great shot blockers and neither are any of the new guys they signed. Hope Chase is back soon because Love, Pek, and Martin need help scoring points. It will be interesting to see where this team is by around the all star break.

Gordon Hayward is really impressing me along with Vucevic and Dragic. Even Chandler Parsons is scoring more but there are so many shots to go around in Houston. Houston is still a good team from our perspective. I hear Osik wants to be traded. Maybe Minnesota might make a move for him. I still am really waiting and hoping for Fredette to get out of Sacramento. He deserves so much better. At least in the worst case scenario, he is free this summer.

One last thing. I agree with Carolina Speed that it is a little more watchable now than it was in the 1990's. We still need to get the number of white players alot high though just like in football.

Not the greatest night so far in the NBA, but a couple of huge nights for white players who finally get minutes!

Anyone remember for Wisconsin player Jon Leuer? 23 points/9 rebs/3 blocks in Memphis' win over Phoenix.

Kosta Koufos, 14/12

Phoenix's Dragic, 16/5 ast.

Denver's Timofey Mozgov 17 points/ career high 20 boards! Denver beats Brooklyn.

Spencer Hawes, 17/7

Kyle Singler, 18/5,

Dallas/Charlotte still playing, with Toronto at Golden State just starting, maybe someone on the west coast can give those finals.

The Kings now have a thoroughly racist White coach, Mike Malone. He plays Jimmer as much as the last bum, that is to say, very little.
