Pekovic, 17/8

Love, 9/9/3

Rubio, 10/1/4 ast.

Minnesota loses another close one to OKC 115-111, CRAP! They were up 4 with 2:30 to play, but couldn't close the deal. Somehow they can't get over .500. 16-17.

I'm still too angry to discuss this game. No way in hell they should have lost. It makes you wonders sometimes if more of the games
aren't fixed to hold whitey down. They are 0-9 in games under 4 points. Explain that. What are the flipping odds of a team losing
every single close game. I'm starting to call bullsh** on this one. Damn they are not gonna make the playoffs with these close losses. It's still
early and that is the only bright spot. No way they should lose everyone of these game. Uuuuggghhhh!!!!!!!

Yeah WL, hard to explain yet another close loss by the Wolves. Rubio was playing well early, but seemed to disappear scoring wise down the stretch. I believe Love even missed 4 free throws during the last 2 minutes, very uncharacteristic of him.

In tonight's action.... Lee and Bogut continue to play well for Golden State, beating Washington, 112-96.

Lee, 21/11/6 ast.
Bogut, 15/11/4 blks.

Memphis destroyed Detroit 112-84 as Jon Leuer led Memphis with 23 points and 8 rebounds in just 21 minutes of play! Nice game Jon, you should be starting!

Dirk in action tonight against the Knicks. He has 11 points and 6 boards with 1:30 left in the first half.

Yes Love did miss some free throws and that hurt. The whole team just had a let down on defense in the 4th quarter. They had a really
good lead heading into and they seemed to relax and it ended up costing them the game.

Glad to see Lee and Bogut putting on a clinic for the Warriors. David Lee doesn't get near the respect he should. I also think he should have made the all star game more than he has. He really is a clutch player. Bogut gets better all the time and the guy is tough as nails.

Even Jimmer has played a little more. He had 15 points last night. I still can't wait for him to get out of that cess pool town. Why Utah or another team didn't make a trade for him yet boggles my mind. I think most teams are just cheap and they will just wait until next summer when he is a free agent.

Injuries continue to mount for white players. Tiago Splitter, SA., will miss 4-5 weeks with a sprained right shoulder sustained in a game Saturday night. Splitter, certainly not an all-star quite yet, but like many white players, seems to play well when given minutes. Splitter had scored 22 points and had 5 rebounds at the time of his injury!

Other injuries of note:

J.J. Redick among the top 45 in scoring, 15.1/game.
Steve Blake, top 10 in ast, 7.7/game

Mark Gasol, MEM. avg. 16/7
Nikola Vucevic, ORL. top 6 in reb. at 11.1/game

Ryan Anderson was in the top 20 in scoring, 19.8, before injuring his spine and is still in a Boston Hospital!

Hopefully, these guys will get back soon, being are numbers are low, we can't afford too many more injuries to our leaders.

Last night.....
Nowitzki, 18/9
Gasol, 25/10
Mozgov, DEN. 20/7... as Denver beat LAL.

The Timberwolves are the best "bad" team I've ever seen. They need to stop choking away these close games. They have a +4 point differential on the season. That should be good enough to be 4-5 games over .500. Unreal!

The Twolves are up by around 20 early in the 3rd quarter. I think you are getting your wish my friend. Pek has been incredible lately. I hope Love can get close to his season averages before they pull him for good.

Quick update. Now the Twolves are up by 31 points heading into the fourth quarter. The sixers had won 4 in a row until they met the wolves. Kevin Love has 24 points so far but he is probably done for the game.

There are 2 decent games worth watching tonight on BSPN if anyone is interested. Dallas at San Antonio 7 P.M. and Phoenix at Minnesota at 9:30. You'll probably see more white athletes by percentage on the court tonight than in most NFL games!

Well almost, 1 white starter will be out for SA. I forgot Splitter is out for 4 weeks, sprained shoulder. The second game Phoenix at Minnesota will be better.

Tonight is the night carolina speed. The Twolves will finally get over the hump tonight. Phoenix has been outstanding and I do like watching both Dragic and Plumlee but I have to root for Minnesota. They need the win more. The Suns are easily in the playoffs as of right now so it's the lesser of two evils. I heard rumors that Chase could play but I won't believe it unless I see it. He is close regardless of if he suits up tonight or not. Kevin Love has to take control of this game early and help lead his team above 500.

Here is a great article from nba.com talking about how good the Minnesota Timberwolves are despite their record. Have a read guys.

I like your optimism and yes white lightning great article and many great points, too many to mention just now, however, I will say with all of the points mentioned, I see this as a sort of toughening up process and will only help the Timberwolves when they get into the playoffs.

Looking forward to the game tonight against Phoenix. Let's keep our fellow CF brothers updated for those that are unable to watch.

It's 36-35 after one quarter. The Twolves and Suns are in a very tight game. I was right. Chase Budinger is back. They probably will only play him sparingly since he is coming off back to back knee injuries but he has already hit his first three pointer of the year. I'm so happy to see this kid back. Minnesota is not good from three point range. They are one of the worst teams in the league. Chase can help to boost their numbers dramatically with his shooting and he is also a great defender. When healthy, Chase can jump out of the gym too.

It's beyond unbelievable that the T-wolves choked this game away. Something happens to this team in the final minutes of close games. Poor execution, bad shots, turnovers, tentativeness, you name it, it starts to go wrong.

There's no excuse for this, and makes you wonder if it's now in their heads. These are the games that will haunt this team in March and April and cost them a playoff spot. Very disappointing loss.

I agree foobar and on national tv(espn) which makes it even worse. Kevin Love probably had the worst game of his life. Rubio just doesn't understand how to finish at the rim. JJ Barrera has been also making bad choices and taking wild shots this year.

The only bright side for me was to hear the announcers say that Goran Dragic of the Suns deserves to make the all star game. They question whether he will but admit if any Sun should be there, it's Dragic easily. Goran took over the game in the 4th quarter. That is the kind of leadership Minnesota needs. The turnover by Ricky with around 25 seconds to go was inexcusable. They had the game and again found a way to lose. Doesn't make any sense. The team is in turmoil right now. I'm just glad Chase is back to at least help with some more scoring.

One last thing. I've said it before and I will say it again. Why did Minnesota get rid of all their shot blockers and best defenders from last year? Those guys would have helped to have won at least half of these games with their interior defense. They didn't realise that guys like Kirelenko, and Stiemsma were the difference makers. They won 32 games last year because of defense. All the scorers were hurt. They should have never let these guys get away.

You are right about the lack of interior defensive presence. They should have kept Stiemsma or Amundson. Kirelenko choose to opt out, nothing they could do there. He chased bigger money in free agency, didn't find a market and then probably took some "under the table" Russian money after signing for cheap in Brooklyn. The only hope for Minny improving this area this season is the return of Ronny Turiaf. Turiaf, who was hurt, is the do-it-all, blue collar, high motor, lunch pail carrying defender / rebounder / physical defender type. He NEEDS to stay healthy and be a bruiser for the WhiteWolves.

The end result was disappointing but overall I enjoyed watching the whole 2nd half. When was the last time so many Whites were allowed to shine on an NBA on ESPN national game? Phoenix mostly had Dragic and Plumlee / Len on the court and the TWolves usually had 3 or 4 Whites depending on the rotation. Dragic looked like the best player on the court most of the night so it wasn't a total lost effort.

Thanks for bringing up Louis Amundson. This guy is such an underrated player. He played for the Suns before he came to the Timberwolves. The guy would ride his bike to practice and to the games at home in Phoenix. Amundson was in better shape than anyone on the team. When ever he did play in Phoenix he was very exciting to watch. The kid could dunk on anyone and was tough as nails. His ability to jump off the floor was amazing. He was like a human pogo stick. He could jump over and over without rest. The guy rebounded and blocked shots with ease. The Suns rarely played him despite him being a fan favorite and how good of a player he could have been. The same exact treatment he faced in Phoenix happened again in Minnesota. When he played he was very, very good. So athletically gifted. It's such a shame that neither team gave him a fair look. He could have been even better than Chris "the birdman" Anderson for Miami. Amundson is an even better jumper in my honest opinion and will not back down to anyone.

Then you couple that with Stiemsma who was the Twolves enforcer all last year. He blocked countless shots and got the tough rebounds. Many shots he didn't block he changed and oppenents many times shot air balls. The guy was almost always in the middle of a fight and many other teams hated the guy. He was not afraid of anyone. The Twolves need that toughness and interior defense that both of these guys and Kirelenko brought night after night. If I was the G.M. in Minnesota, I would pursue a trade to get some of these guys back. Other than Kirelenko, the other two could be aquired for next to nothing in a trade. I don't even know where either of them are playing for at this point. Maybe they are even free agents. Bring them back and you will see the wins go up quite quickly.

I just read that Amundson was waved from the Pelicans on New Years Eve. Despite him being 30 years of age, I would love to see Minnesota sign him for the minimum amount for the rest of the year. The guy could really help out down in the paint. I also saw the Greg Stiemsma plays for the Pelicans as well. Interesting but he is still under contract.
