The rules have been rigged to make the game easier for quarterbacks in general, not just black ones. Dwfs want to see high scoring games with lots of offense. I am assuming that the powers to be thought that making the qb position easier to play would lead to an increase in black quarterbacks, but it hasn't, they all fail eventually. The refs have great influence over the game and do not always call penalties on an equal scale, usually favoring teams with black qbs, or blacker teams in general. The Steelers get away with dirty play, although they did make the new rule up for the way Hines Ward plays.

I mean you could say there are 5 elite quarterbacks in the league, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning, with many on the cusp. There shouldn't be that many elite quarterbacks. We had 3 guys throw for over 5,000 yards last year, Brees, Brady and Stafford. That should not be possible. I think this shows that it is more than the rules, it is the lack of talent on defense. If you can't look like a decent qb then that says alot.

Of course there are many teams with no offensive weapons and or terrible offensive lines as well as coaching but Newton wasn't put into that situation, RGIII has less talent around him, but more than someone like Blaine Gabbert. I mean we are at the point that if it weren't for drops, guys like Brees would have a 90 percent completion ratio.

Looking at Brees this year, it shows how great Peyton Manning truly is, and maybe why he struggled in the post season so much. He was basically his own play caller as Tony Dungy was a Tampa 2 defensive specialist. Teams throw their best at you in the post season and it would be extremely hard for just a qb alone to make all the adjustments while the game is going on, it helps to have input from several guys while the defense is on the field. Drew Brees is without Sean Payton and down to an interim interim head coach, and it is showing, although the line is not giving him time and injuries to his receivers are affecting him, this would not be as big of a deal if Sean Payton were calling the plays. He has the ability to know how to call the right play at the right time. Brees threw for 5k without one guy getting 1k and his number 1 target at the time out with an injury.

We will see if Bellicheck continues this run heavy offense focusing on Lloyd in the passing game or going more pass heavy with Welker being the main guy which has helped them put up such huge numbers since 2007.

Scam will end up like Vince Young. After 6 years of futility he will be cut and broke.

Nice post Dwid...I agree with you completely. I don't think an outright conspiracy exists for fixed games but the game has changed and position is a lot easier to play due to the rule changes.

Whether it's easier, mediocre or tougher, the White guys will play better...

Collie is active, although he will split snaps with Avery for this game.

Maybe I should have started Dalton today instead of supa afflete RG3 in fantasy. First play of the game he throws a 73 yard touchdown. He's going to be very good!

TD Rudolph! Peterson is not running well, hoping to see Toby soon.

Chiefs are passing to McCluster, Hillis has 1 carry so far.

Dalton didn't throw the TD and why would you even have Griffin on your fantasy team?

Ponder with a TD, he runs better than Peterson! :)
Edit: that was a 23 yard rushing TD for Ponder, a beauty.

That fake field goal by Cincy was one of the worst designed plays I've ever seen.
Run it from the 1 yard line, maybe. But not way out there. Geez.

I kind of disagree, Cincy has shut down Washington completely. That fake FG was basically a F*k you to them. Now Cincy has the ball back again in prime field position.

But you're taking the game situation into consideration.
Consider the play itself on paper. It's just a bad design (which is what I claimed).
