great back-to-back defensive stands by BYU, after giving up the offensive rebound put them under a LOT of pressure.
bonus basketball, baby!

Jackson Emery started the game off hot. I think he needs to knock down a couple shots for BYU

this could be said about everyone on BYU's team. they are all cold, including Fredette who likely hasn't had a poor shooting night like this in months. BYU has to knock down some shots or this game is over.

unless there's a miracle, that's the ball game. damn. it was a nice run by BYU, and i couldn't be prouder of them. but ultimately, cold shooting tonight cost them.

good job, Cougars. you've nothing to hang your heads about.

also, a terrific game by Parsons.

I havent seen much of Fredette this year, if I judged by this game I would think he is horrible. What a stage to lay an egg on!!!

Brigham Young just got tired and ran out of gas in OT.

Pity though, Collinsworth could have won it for BYU if he made both free throws with under a minute left. Jimmer also took some awful shots from 3 point range in the last 2 minutes when he should have just drove it to the basket. It was a tough loss. . ..

True not to mention he's taken a beating.Florida was just too much. Parsons and Tyus combined for 26 rebounds

I just got in from work and hate to hear that BYU lost. Hopefully Duke beats Arizona tonight and we'll still have two decently White teams in the Elite 8.

I don't know if anybody mentioned this already. CBS has four people in the studio and they are all black. There seems to be more and more black ananlysts during the games too.

life goes on ...

Kyle Singler is dominating in the early going for Duke. also, each of the Plumlee brothers has had high-flying blocked shots.

i wasn't aware of that, Europe. to add to this, though, all three of the announcers for the BYU-Florida game were black.

what an "athletic" team of announcers. with some amazingly room-brightening smiles, i might add.

one last comment on the Florida game ... Kyle Collinsworth ended the game with 15 rebounds for BYU. yet, the announcers didn't comment on hisperformance a single time that i recall, much less crediting the 6-foot-6 guard for any athleticism. he's got a bright future ahead of him when he gets back from his two-year mission.

it never ceases to amaze me how well Duke plays man-to-man defense, when i'm repeatedly told that every White player who leaves Duke is a poor defender. "weird" ...

not only is Kyle Singler incredibly gifted and versatile, i don't know if there is a tougher, more competitive player in college basketball. he is fearless, and it seems like he plays even more aggressively when black opponents try to get physical with him. if i were picking a basketball team of current collegiate players, he'd be one of my five. without a doubt.

It doesn't look good for Duke, they're down 73-63 with 8 minutes to go.

Duke exiting early is a big disappointment to me. Hopefully Butler or Wisconsin will be able to get into the Final Four.

there is only one word to describe Butler's defense: stifling.

Well, I hope we all enjoyed last season's aberration. Back to normal now. Duke getting blown out was totally unexpected; I thought they were our only hope in regards to the Final Four.

Anyone who watched the BYU game should understand what white players at this level are up against. Yes, it is possible for a white team to win it all, but the odds are strongly stacked against them. The referees clearly had an agenda, and they enforced it throughout the game. Time after time, Jimmer would drive to the basket, which was a great strategy, seeing as how he was blanketed outside. He made some layups, but failed to draw the "and one" calls that EVERY black star gets EVERY time they drive inside. If Kemba Walker had done exactly what Jimmer did, he'd have attempted at least 20 free throws.

So we are left now with what, Butler? The odds will be stacked against them when they play Florids, although they obviously are not as "dangerous" to tptb as a BYU would be. I think it's pretty likely that we'll be treated to yet another blackfest Final Four, with no team having more than one white starter. Most importantly, the jock sniffers won't have to figure out new, creative ways to denigrate the only white nationally recognized star, Jimmer Fredette. Instead, they can lust over U-Conn's lovely affletic bunch, led by "star" Kemba Walker and his evil mobster coach.

The post of the night goes to bigunreal. Very true. That is what made last year so shocking with the final being between Duke and Butler. It was historic and very rare.

Why didn't tptb prevent last year's Duke-Butler final?

Duke, courtesy of their affletic guards, turned into a ghetto ball team in the second half. Singler rarely touched the ball in the 2nd half after a good first half.

By far one of the worst officiated games ever! There were several moments that Fredette or a teammate should've gotten a 3-point play or to the line. The refs really gave a gift to the Gators, and if not for BYU's tenacity, this could've been one sided affair in favor of Florida. The announcers (especially Reggie Miller) were some of the most bias ever.

The loss is painful thanks to the brilliant all around efforts by he multi-dimensional Parsons.

The game was (unless your truly dumb) rigged to make a white team and it's superstar lose. I'll say this pure and simple... Jimmer is BETTER than Kemba.

Duke's defense also suffered. After all, great and balanced offense often translates to good and determined defense. Good to Singler though, it's off to the NBA.

Singler played great. Duke didn't go inside enough. The Plumlee brothers are great. Kyrie got his and Nolan Smith disappeared. However, Derrick Williams was ON FIRE. 25 in the first half, then his teammates stepped up in the second half. Singler played great but he got in foul trouble. He also had a cut from a great dive on the floor. Singler helped his draft stock.

Jimmer played great, but he didn't have enough help. Parsons played a great game. Florida was too big inside.
Kemba played great too but he had more help. I think that is the difference in why BYU lost and why UCONN won.
Also, I think Florida is better than San Diego State. I would have liked to see Jimmer versus Kemba to see who is better one on one.Guess we have to wait until they get to the NBA.

In the BYU-Florida game Jimmer was the best player on the court, but Florida had the better team.
Florida versus Butler features a good match up between Matt Howard and Chandler Parsons. Whoever wins this matchup will win the game.
