2011 NCAA Tournament

I think Kentucky could have used Jon Hood tonight?..

Like I said previously, Brandon Knight has some ability, but he ISN'T "NBA-ready" right now. And, Doron Lamb is a frosh that has been "annointed" for them.. over Jon Hood I think.

EDIT: I reckon that Lamb comes off the bench and gets solid PT, where he shoots 3s, so, of course he's getting "preference" over Jon Hood.. who doesn't get PT. Edited by: Deadlift

He also appears to be a closet homosexual, judging from that open-palmed grab of that UConn player's junk. He easily could have made a fist. He's going to have some explaining to do in the locker room if his teammates see that "highlight".

I'm surprised that no one mentioned that the "mid-major" contest between Butler/VCU was MORE EXCITING than the "big game" between UCONN/Kentucky.... and my analysis is not based on the racial-makeup of either game, but the actual content of the games.

Weird..

Last year Butler was seen as the sentimental favorite when Duke was their opponent. Are they seen that way this year?

I think so, most of the country will be rooting for Butler. I also think UCONN coach Jim Calhoun's ethical problems and suspension make him sort of a villian while the Butler coach is as clean as it gets. Butler 79 UConn 77 is my prediction.

Hopefully Howard is a beast on the boards and can get his shot going early. Im predicting a 20 point 10 rebound effort along with 5assists anda block. Hahn needs to hit some threes and Andrew Smith needs to control the post and get his rebounds. I like Van Zant and Shelvin Mack at the guard spots too and I think they'll be able to muscle up Kemba.

Butler is starting off the game in a terrible shooting slump. theyhave hitonly 2 of their first 15 shots. ouch. despite the poor shooting, though, they are only down 2 points.

secondly, is this the first time all season that UConn has had both White freshmen on the court at the same time? they've both played well in the very limited minutes they've received.

Butler can't throw it in the ocean ... yet they have a 3 point lead at halftime. wow. go Butler!

@Chitwood, I was wondering that myself about the two white men on the team. That is the first time I have seen them on the floor this tourney.

Ha ha! I'm heading to the living room right now to watch.

If I remember, I think Giffey and Olander both played a little together back in the Maui Tourney at the start of the year.

Butler's shooting is still absolutely abyssmal.

I've never seen a team shoot so bad. Butler is just playing dumb basketball. UConn isn't playing all that good, but Butler is having the worst of bad nights.

sometimes the shots just don't fall ... it's hard to win when there's a lid on the goal. hopefully, Butler can find a way to start knocking down some shots. their time is running out, if they don't.

Wow- what a shocker. Guess things are back to normal, with the most odious team, the most corrupt coach and the most overrated black player winning it all.

I'm not able to watch the game- been following the score on the internet. Can someone explain to me how any college basketball team can only have 30 points with five minutes left in the game?

I've coached 8 year old girl teams who could score more points.

bigunreal,

Butler simply can't make a shot. i don't know that i've ever seen a good-shooting team have such an abysmal stretch. but other than the referees completely swallowing their whistles, i don't see how a conspiracy could account for the performance. after all, Butler held UConn to 19 points in the first half. that has to be the lowest output for the Huskies all year.

it's just been a very ugly game.

The establishment will say it was a great defensive game, especially by Uconn. They'll say that Kemba Walker played great defense, despite his ugly shooting night (5-21 FG's).

Even Fredette plays better at his worst.

it was a nice run, but it's impossible to win when you can't knock down shots. congratulations to Butler for a wonderful Tourney run, though! i couldn't be prouder of them, even though they came up short tonight. good job, Bulldogs!

This has to be a record for lowest combined points in a championship game. And 41 certainly must be an all-time low.

I'm glad I missed this game. Edited by: bigunreal

Just looked at the shooting stats for Butler. 12-67 for the game? That's just unbelievable. Howard was only 1-14; how does a big man shoot that poorly? I guess what little chance he had for an NBA career disappeared with that effort.

I didn't see the game, and I really like Butler, but it's hard to give any team credit for this kind of play.

Hey, on the positive side, making the Finals back-to-back for a mid-level program like Butler is amazing itself. Nothing to be ashamed of that, they just increased Matt Howard's NBA stock ten-fold. Butler might become a serious destination for high school talent graduates (white & black alike). Let's just hope Brad Stevens remains the coach for years to come.

Unless there's an NBA lockout (very likely), Howard, Fredette, and Singler are all headed to the big (but racist) league. Only the expected Caste System will prevent them.

Damn, Butler laid enough bricks to build a 15 bedroom mansion tonight. UCONN Women 39 Butler Men 26.< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" =""><div id="ref"></div>

bigunreal,

Jim Calhoun has easily offered more Whites' scholies than Calipari.. I'm just glad that it isn't Kentucky Blue that's celebrating right now.

Matt Howard just had an off-night, and he can definitely ball in the NBA, like Matt Bonner perhaps! Andrew Smith was more of a clutz in this game.

Butler knocked-out Florida and VCU, and I'll be forever indebted to them for that. Good run, Butler.
