**Durham was 1 yard out of the top 75 so I included him.

South Florida's Evan Landi just made aterrific 23-yard catch on a very poorly thrown ball by the Bulls black quarterback, skywalking over an affletic defensive back in order to do so. the announcers eventually mentioned Landi's name, but only as they transitioned to another, "more important"topic.

it was Landi's second catch of the game thus far; his first was the game's first touchdown. furthermore, it was Landi drawing a double team from the secondary that allowed the black quarterback to find an open receiver on the second touchdown pass ... to Dontavia (that's his real name) Bogan. nothing at all was mentioned of Landi's ability, but the announcers made sure to point out that Dontavia (that's his real name) Bogan is "the team's best receiver." this label being given despite Landi being taller (and likely faster), playing in his first full season ever as a wide receiver, and possessing both better leaping ability and better hands.

oh, and Dontavia (that's his real name) Bogan is a senior who, coming into tonight's game, had already set a season-high in receiving yardage with just 402 yards. yep, "clearly" he's "the team's best receiver."

here's a nice BYU recap mentioning Luke Ashworth's HUGE first half today against Colorado State.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (Nov. 13, 2010) â€" Senior receiver Luke Ashworth had a record-setting day to help BYU drum Colorado State 49-10 Saturday at Hughes Stadium in Fort Collins, Colo.

The senior from Provo, Utah, became the first player in the history of the Provo-based school to score four touchdowns in a single half while equaling the team record for the most scoring receptions in a game. His four touchdown grabs also tied a Mountain West Conference record and set a new Hughes Stadium mark.

Ashworth's four TD grabs were his only receptions of the game, finishing with a career-high 113 yards. On the other end of the touchdowns was freshman quarterback Jake Heaps, who went 15-of-20 for 242 yards and a career-high four touchdowns in three quarters of play.

The Cougars opened the scoring with their longest drive of the year, highlighted by their longest play of the season. Culminating a four-play, 89-yard drive, the Cougars successfully executed a flea-flicker with Ashworth on the receiving end of a 62-yard bomb. Heaps handed off to Di Luigi on the play, who returned the ball to the freshman quarterback to deliver the long scoring strike down the right sideline ...

After going up 14-0 on a 7-yard pass to Ashworth ...

Following Rich's interception, Heaps teamed with Ashworth for the third time in the first half, this time on a 36-yard throw that Ashworth leaped up to catch over the defender at the goal line. Ashworth's third touchdown catch also put him over 100 receiving yards for the day, the first 100-yard outing by a Cougar receiver this season.

But with BYU leading 28-0 Ashworth was not done yet. After the BYU defense forced a punt, Heaps and the offense drove 82 yards to paydirt, with Heaps finding Ashworth for an 8-yard score to make the senior receiver the first Cougar since Kirk Pendleton in 1983 to equal the school record of four touchdowns catches in a game. John VanDerWouden is the only other Cougar to catch four passes for touchdowns in a game, doing so, ironically, against Colorado State in 1976.

on 3rd-and-17, Gerogia "possession" receiver Kris Durham leaped over an affletic db to literally rip away a would-be interception and turned it into a 28-yard gain and a first down. afterwards, the announcer offered up a backhanded compliment.

i wonder if the 6-5 Kris Durham is ever not open on a deep ball ...

**Jeff Maehl is tied for 4th in the country with 11 touchdowns. He's having the senior year he needed to boost his draft stock.
***It's very positive that 4 of our top receivers are only sophomores. We can really expect to see even bigger things in years to come.

Well, I found another white WR that could emerge in the coming years, True Frosh WR Alex Amidon for Boston College. He had 2 rec. for 57 yards and a TD today.

Sanzenbacher has been impressive this season with plenty of long catches.
Seems like he'll continue the legacy of Anthony Gonzalez and Brian Hartline. I've scene draft boards with him anywhere from 4th round to 7th. I except him to move up draft boards when he "shocks" scouts, GMs, and DWFs with better than expected combine numbers.

Some draft boards had him as a free agent before this season started. His stock has certainly gone up, how much remains to be seen. He looks like a lock to be drafted at this point but the 4th round is the earliest I see him going.

A combine invite for Sanzenbacher is no sure thing, either. How many white receivers have received invites in the past decade or so? Not many. He'll be pigeonholed as a "slot receiver possibility" having "no long speed" and "lacking explosion", and if he really is fast, it's just "sneaky speed". Not having a "room-brightening smile" is the killer, though.

Sanzenbacher is one of the most underrated recievers in the country. He gives up his body to catch so many of Pryor's poorly thrown balls. Pryor should struggle some next year without him on the team.

That's very true FootballDad but the Ohio State pedigree is too much too ignore. NFL talent evaluator figure if a guy is good enough to start and star at OSU then they're worthy of a combine invite. Just ask OSU white skill position players Donnie Nickey, Dustin Fox, Hartline, and Gonzalez.

I see Dane going in the 5th Rd. Although if things were "fair" he's got the talent of a 2nd round pick. His 40 time (as always with whitey) will be a huge factor.

Also congrats to Sanzenbacher for being named 1st Team All Big 10!!Edited by: whiteCB

Leonardfan, you are dead right. I watched him hurl his body in midair and come up with catch after catch, most behind him, far above him (and with DBs waiting to hammer his legs as he came down), and in the dirt. He was a black QBs dream, maybe Vince Young or Troy Smith will lobby to get him

Just kidding, but if they were smart they would.

Ohio State white receivers have been picked fairly early compared to other schools, so he should be okay, if he runs well.

The regular season wrap up for our guys in the top 100 in receiving yards:

Greg Salas â€" Hawaii (Sr.) - 106 for 1,675 & 12 TDs (1st)
Was able to squeeze past OKST's Blackmon with an extra game. Hawaii's pass friendly attack should temper some enthusiasm for the gaudy numbers but scouts should take note of a guy who has over 3,000 yards over the last 2 seasons. CBSsports has him running a 4.57 and going in the 5th round.

Cody Wilson â€" Cent. Mich. (So.) â€" 83 for 1,137 & 5 TDs (12th)
Wilson had a break through season for a 3 win CMU team. He was also given 18 carries in which he averaged 5.3 ypc. Expect another big season next year and hopefully CMU can improve to get Cody some exposure.

Cole Beasley â€" SMU (Jr.) â€" 84 for 1,036 & 6 TDs (21st)
Great season for Cole. With leading receiver Robinson graduating, look for Cole to be "the man"Â next year along with Zach Line.

Conner Vernon â€" Duke (So.) â€" 73 for 973 & 4 TDs (25th)
A great talent hidden on an awful Duke team. He still has 2 years to distinguish himself and hopefully Duke can become a bowl team in one of these seasons. Conner has the size and speed numbers scouts normally love just not the right skin color.

Jeff Maehl â€" Oregon (Sr.) â€" 68 for 943 & 12 TDs (31st)
Maehl finally had a big season in his final year. black quarterbacks for his college career certainly did not help. CBS has him running a 4.56 and a 7th rounder and a prospect on the rise. A big game in the national championship would certainly help as well.

Jeremy Ebert â€" Northwestern (Jr.) â€" 59 for 919 & 8 TDs (32nd)
Has good size (6'-1"Â) and speed (4.54) but will have to have a big senior year to get a look based on the recent history of NW receivers getting screwed by the NFL.

T.J. Moe â€" Missouri (So.) â€" 77 for 893 & 6 TDs (40th)
T.J. is another exciting sophomore who should only get better next year. He also plays on a good team in a major conference.

Dane Sanzenbacher â€" Ohio St. (Sr.) â€" 52 for 889 & 10 TDs (41st)
As discussed many times on this board, Dane is vastly underrated. CBS has him at 4.58 and a 6-7 round pick but "rising"Â. I would agree that he will rise by lowering that 40 time shocking DWFs across the nation.

Ryan Swope â€" Texas A&M (So.) â€" 67 for 780 & 4 TDs (64th)
Superb athlete should have an expanded role next season. Was credited with 11 carries at a clip of 5.3 yards per.

Eric Greenwood â€" Idaho (Sr.) â€" 46 for 741 & 6 TDs (78th)
At 6'-7"Â he could generate interest from NFL camps. I didn't expect Max Komar, also from Idaho, to get a shot so maybe all is not lost for Eric.

Josh Cooper â€" Oklahoma St. (Jr.) â€"61 for 683 & 5 TDs (99th)
Cooper is a speedster who should be lock to get drafted with a big senior year.

*Jared Karstetter (Wash. St.), Danny Coale (Virginia Tech), Rob Housler (FAU), Scotty McKnight (Colorado) and Kris Durham (Georgia) all finished up within striking distance of the top 100.

**Matt Szczur (Villanova) and Ryan Whalen (Stanford) both had injury filled season but both are listed as draft-able prospects by CBSsports. They have Matt as a 5th rounder and Ryan as a 6th rounder.
