MostDangerous I consider Salas mixed Hawaian\white, but I cheer for him b\c he will most likely get the caste treat, ment in the NFL. For an example scouts and columnists are already pigeon holeing him as a "possesion" receiver. Scouts were also surprised at how well he ran at his pro day(Ibeleive ToughJ posted the exact time a while back in another post). I'm not so blind that I ignore talent when I see it.

It doesn't matter if he gets treated white or not, he's not white since he's mixed.Source for those who don't know:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_drop_rule

read the "About Us" section. CF isn't intended to be a racist site. it's geared more to busting up a caste system that propagates the idea that blacks are superior athletes. you're going to find a lot of posters here who might consider the "one drop rule" draconian, or at the very least impractical. and a lot of guys don't fear all jews and root for Jon Scheyer.

i for one don't put too much stock in things like the one drop rule. DNA tests are expensive and i find character is a more effecient barometer for judging people. also, i have no fear of jewish boogeymen. truth be told i've never met a jew i've felt i couldn't take in a fight

anyhow, welcome to CF.

i caught my first glimpse of Middle Tennessee State wide receiver Garrett Andrews during MTSU's bowl game, and I think he is a sleeper to have a long NFL career. the guy can play.

at 6-3, 206-pounds and possessing 4.5 speed, he certainly has the physical tools that NFL scouts allegedly covet. combine that with the fact that he's been MTSU's most consistent wideout for the past two seasons, and you know that he can play. he hasn't put up big numbers playing in an offense with scattershot-armed black quarterback Dwight Dasher (6 touchdowns and 18 interceptions this year, 4 in the bowl game), but that shouldn't hamper his evaluation by so-called "talent" evaluators. at least, it wouldn't if Andrews were black.

below is a highlight video of his sophomore year in ju-co (where he was named all-everything after catching 65 balls for 1,097 yards and 14 touchdowns). it is a low-qualityrecording of a high-quality player.

i'm going to re-post this in the early 2011 NFL Draft thread, as well.

I have previously mentioned Northern Iowa (TE) - Schuylar Oordt. Adding up the stats from his '10 gamelog (http://espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=196274)..

it adds up to 24 catches for 405 yards -- which is roughly a 16.9 YPC average.

If that was his production, congrats to him! How do these athletes' - and many of them are tall - slip through the cracks?

This article on ESPN about Jeff Maehl has some pretty good quotes. This one is interesting:

Maehl is 6-foot-1, 184 pounds, with narrow shoulders and a narrower waist. This is not news to him. He hears about it when he steps onto the field.

"Guys are going to say what they want to say, and I'm going to say something back," Maehl said. "They might call you skinny. I can't really say. It gets a little graphic out there."

I wonder what smack hehears that he doesn't want to talk about? Maybe "cracka" or "white boy?" Hmm...One wonders...

The writer gives Jeff Maehl the Danny Woodhead treatment AKA he was ignored by every other D1 team because he was too skinny and small. As a person points out in the comment section, Jeff has ideal size for a deep threat WR. I wonder what else it could've been that prevented this playmaking CB/WR/basketball star (that even racist Rivals had ranked in the Top 45 amongst CBs) from getting more D1 offers?

Scotty McKnight ignored because he lacks the "physical tools" of "real" receivers. Change the name and this article could be written aboutalmost any White receiver:

Proving people wrong has become second nature to Scotty McKnight. It`s just what he does, especially on the football field.

So while several of his former Colorado teammates are being mentioned as possible first-day picks in the annual National Football League draft in April, McKnight is on the opposite end of the spectrum gearing up to overcome another round of doubters.

He has built a football success story at the high school and college levels despite plenty of people and coaches who didn`t believe he had it in him. During his five years as a Buff in Boulder, he became the all-time leading pass catcher in the program`s history and also set the mark for receiving touchdowns (22). He caught at least one pass in all 49 games in his career.

McKnight understands he doesn`t have some of the physical tools and abilities that other receivers have, but he hopes his college résumé -catching 215 passes over four years mostly in the Big 12 Conference - will merit some consideration as a late-round pick or a free-agent contract.

"For me, the biggest thing now is training and putting up good numbers, and then when I put up good numbers, if a team wants to talk to me, I think that`s also going to benefit me to where they will say, 'OK, he has football knowledge and he`s able to translate what he sees in the film room on the board to the field.` "

McKnight is co-represented by Nick Sanchez -- older brother of New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez -- and Andrew Kessler with Athletes First.

He left Boulder in December to begin workouts back home in Orange County hoping to improve his speed and strength in advance of the draft. He is working out at a facility provided by AthletesFirst along with other prospects from programs around the nation, including former Buffs left tackle Nate Solder, former Washington quarterback Jake Locker, former Texas A&amp;M linebacker Von Miller, former Connecticutrunning back Jordan Todman and former Oregon State defensive tackle Stephen Paea.

His roommate in an apartment about 10 minutes from the beach and the Pacific Ocean is former Boise State wideout Austin Pettis.

McKnight wasn`t invited to the Senior Bowl, East-West Shrine game or the Texas vs. The Nation game, contests which provide draft hopefuls a chance to perform for scouts against other NFL prospects. He said he doesn`t know why he wasn`t invited to any of those games and his representatives are baffled as well. But he hasn`t allowed it to bother him.

McKnight is pouring all his energy into preparing for Colorado`s pro day in Boulder on March 9. He knows pretty much every NFL franchise will be on-hand because Solder and former cornerbacks Jimmy Smith and Jalil Brown are all expected to be taken in the draft. Solder and Smith could be first or second-round selections.

It will be his best opportunity to make an impression. He says he is taking the approach that all he has to do is convince one team to give him a shot.

"If I can come out there and surprise people with how hard I`ve been working then I think that is going to open some eyes," he said.

McKnight`s trainers have put together a program aimed at making him more explosive, improving his speed and allowing him to add a little strength, too.

His week is regimented with designed workouts that begin in the morning and continue throughout the day. He has two days off, but even on those days he is involved in lighter workouts such as pool work or games of beach volleyball. He is provided a diet of three meals and several snacks each day and when he isn`t working out, mapping out plays, schemes and responsibilities on a board with the other athletes or eating, he sleeps.

"So for me, it`s just all about getting explosive," McKnight said. 'Everybody is different. Everyone has their own designed workout. ... Things have gone really, really well for me. I`ve seen a ton of improvement, which is awesome. And I knew I would because the training is really top-notch."<BR style="CLEAR: both">http://www.dailycamera.com/ci_17381350

Did he actually say this, or did the author "read between the melanin" and assume this?

It's no different than the media always writing in stories about black college QBs, "Jamal understands that he doesn't have some of the mental tools and abilities other quarterbacks have." Or, "Jamal's not the smartest guy on the team, but tries to compensate by. . ." The prejudicial and racist nature of it would be blatant and obvious and would be denounced and ended, but when applied to White "skill players"the vast majority of DWFsdon't even noticeit because they've been trained to think that way through endless repetition, and there's no one to call out the media on it, except CFers.

How unusual -- not.

NFL combine: Outlook hazy for two Buckeyes

Even after four years of a can-you-top-this thrill ride, Dane Sanzenbacher still can't fathom how far he has come.

Yesterday at the NFL combine, the Ohio State receiver stood at a lectern and shook his head in amazement.

"Look at this microphone," he said. "It says 'NFL' on it. It's still weird to me."

Sanzenbacher is considered a late-round pick, and Ohio State running back Brandon Saine is rated as an undrafted free agent. It's interesting that their careers have met at this juncture after beginning so differently.

Saine went to Ohio State as a star - a state sprint champion and Mr. Football. His days as a Buckeye were marked by bursts of production, interspersed with injuries and supporting roles.

Sanzenbacher was unheralded, almost an afterthought, who worked his way up step by step until he capped his career by being voted team MVP.
