McGuffie is up to 4.3 YPC (I believe)after todays monster performance. Hopefully he can build on this and possibly average 5+ YPC by years end.

This shows how good McGuffie can be playing for a bad team. I disagree with the poster(can't remember who it was) that said McGuffie will be a Reggie Bush type of player. He can be an excellent scat back in the NFL.;

I agree. Sam will be more of a Warrick Dunn type of RB in the NFL if he's allowed.

Cory McCaffrey
33 carries, 187 yards (5.7), 1TD

Cory sets a new career best in a losing effort against Sacramento State.
Of perhaps more importance, this performance puts him over 1,000 yards on the season (1,049).
I bet when he was wasting away on the bench as a third team slot receiver for Jerry Glanville, he thought he'd never reach this point.
Congrats to Cory.

I'm not a registered member of Bleacher Report, so I can't post there. If any of you are, I recommend you give this bigot an earful.
He clearly states, "The rankings are based on production this season, not on a player's NFL potential."
He has 25 players on his list, presumably the top rushers in D1A, but he completely omitted Zach Line, who is currently at #15 in the nation in rushing (#13 if you throw out the QBs).

What a fraud this article turned out to be.

Coach says race a factor for the future of some players

It seemed like it was going to be one of those "Black coach gains enlightenment" stories. Especially after the intro.
But there was no examination of the subject. Instead, what it actually reveals is a black coach who specializes in taking white runningbacks and converting them into other positions because he doesn't think they have a chance to succeed at runningback.

I'm not sure you are completly discribing the aritcle correctly. I think the coach just points out to the players the reality that is college D-1 football, which has been pointed out here many time on this site, that D-1 football coaches refuse to recruit and develop white running backs.

He said the white running back has the talent to play running back, but then he follows the very same thing he points out in the aritcle by recruiting and sterotyping the white running back and having him move to safety.

It's funny how the mainstream media who is always supposed to hate racism and discrimaination based on skin color does not do more stories on this stuff and put more pressure on D-1 programs to recruit based on talent alone and not skin color.

Oops. I forgot the mainstream cultural marxist media only goes after racism when it is applied to minorities. They don't care about racism when it is applied to the "white man".

Look for Sam McGuffie to jump a few spots higher after playing Tulane this week. He finally had his breakout game last week, they gave him the ball and he produced, 178 yards on 28 carries. They need to feed him the ball like that tomorrow, hoping for a 200+ yard from scrimmage game. Anyone going to the game?

snow, it would be really cool to sit in the Superdome and watch McGuffie run wild, but I'm not going to be there. This might end up being the first season since 1995 in which I haven't watched a college football game live and in person.

Southern Methodist is off today, phil. They play at home against Marshall on Nov. 20. I'm sure Zach will be fine, but I haven't seen any updates on him yet.

Brown is playing pretty tough defense, but Dartmouth RB Nick Schwieger is already piling up the yards against them, with 11 for 57 and a TD plus an 18 yard catch in the 2nd quarter. RBs Mark Kachmer and Zach Tronti are getting the bulk of carries for Brown. Dan Dierking is splitting carries with Henry so far as Purdue is down by a point to Michigan. Mike Trumpy also has 8 carries so far for Northwestern.

As always, Division 2 has a wealth of White running talent. Joe Glendening, Hillsdale College RB is one of them. Last week, the Sophomore was second in Division 2 in rushing
yardage, and third in rushing yards per game with 142.1. In 10 games he
has 297 carries for 1,421 yards and 15 TDs. 4.78 YPC. He also has 20
catches for 171 yards and 3 KR for 54 yards.

Another talented White back in Division 2 is Phil Milbrath, a Senior RB for Michigan Tech. Milbrath is currently third in rushing yardage and second in rushing yards per game, at 153.22. In 9 games, Phil has 192 carries for 1,379 yards and 10 TDs for a 7.18 yard per carry average. He is also a threat out of the backfield with 27 catches for 375 yards and 6 TDs.

Schwieger just threw a 62 yard TD pass to White WR Tanner Scott to pull ahead of Brown! Schwieger is the man for Dartmouth today. He is responsible for all their 3 TDs!

Several FCS RBs are having a great day, including Montana's Chase Reynolds who has 17 runs for 127 yards and 2 TDs plus 3 catches for 27 yards in the 3rd quarter!

Reynold's counterpart on the other side of the field is North Dakota's Mitch Sutton, who has 8 carries for 71 yards and 2 TDs!

Nate Eachus ran for 160 yards and 3 TDs in the Colgate win today!

Portland State RB Cory McCaffrey has 6 carries for 82 yards already in the first quarter! Cory might be able to gain some ground on Eachus this week in more ways than one, as Eachus was held to 6 yards less than his FCS leading YPG average.

Sam McGuffie has his first TD on his 7th carry. Just 16 yards running and an 11 yard catch so far though. Hopefully the line will get better as the game goes on.

Arkansas State's Derek Lawson had 38 yards rushing in the first half ... on just 3 carries. good job establishing the running game there, coach.

Wow. Some coaches baffle me. ASU should be running through Western Kentucky.

Dillon Romain had 185 yards rushing for U at Albany today against Wagner College in a FCS game. He has already been Rookie of the week twice in the Northeastern Conference.
