He is 10 pounds heavier than Pouncey and a few inchers shorter, which probably means more bulk. I didn't notice any dropoff when Pouncey left the game, but all of the sacks were blamed on him by the dwfs, even though the rest of the line isawful.Pounceywas severely overrated in the first place. How will he handle all of that blubber in BJ Raji. OH NO

Just to go through the NFL list here...

Doug Legurski: 6'1" 325lbs.

Maurkice Pouncey: 6'4" 305lbs
Eric Wood: 6'4" 304lbs
Joe Berger: 6'5" 315lbs
Dan Koppen: 6'2" 295lbs(One of THE best Centers in the NFL)
Nick Mangold: 6'4" 307lbs
Andre Gurode: 6'4" 318lbs
Shaun O'Hare: 6'3" 303lbs
Jamaal Jackson: 6'4" 330lbs
Casey Rabach: 6'4" 295lbs
Matt Birk: 6'4" 309lbs
Kyle Cook: 6'2" 312lbs
Alex Mack: 6'4" 311lbs
Olin Kreutz: 6'2" 292lbs(Another really good center)
Dylan Gandy: 6'3" 290lbs
Scott Wells: 6'2" 295lbs
John Sullivan: 6'4" 300lbs
Chris Myers: 6'4" 292lbs
Jeff Saturday: 6'2" 290lbs(The best center in the NFL for years)
Brad Meester: 6'3" 302lbs
Eugene Amano: 6'3" 310lbs
Todd McClure: 6'1" 295lbs
Ryan Kalil: 6'2" 295lbs
Jeff Faine: 6'3" 291lbs
J.D. Walton: 6'3" 305lbs
Casey Weigmann: 6'2" 285lbs
Samson Satele: 6'3" 300lbs
Nick Hardwick: 6'4" 305lbs
Lyle Sendlein: 6'3" 305lbs
Jason Brown: 6'3" 328lbs
Eric Heitman: 6'3" 312lbs
Chris Spencer: 6'3" 309lbs

Looks to me like he's on the larger side for a center. As i'm sure everyone else is already aware but height isn't that big of a deal when it comes to Center, you're not going up against edgerushers like a tackle and your job is to contain the nose tackle with aid from the guard positions. Strength is the name of the game. As you can see from the list of starting centers in the NFL, most of the better centers are around 6'2". That's right, a lower center of gravity? Helps, not hinders.

It is amusing at least, one of the affletic linemen they're hot and heavy over citing an ability to play Center OR Guard at elite levels, Rodney Hudson is 6'1" and 290lbs. A little consistency would be great with these guys.

From NFL.com...

Backup Doug Legursky could fill in for Pouncey, and veteran offensive tackle Flozell Adams said he has confidence in the second-year pro.

"I don't think it's going to affect us at all, personally, because we have a lot of guys on this team, let alone offensive line, that can come up and step up if one of the starters goes down," Adams said. "So I have no doubt about that Doug is just as good, if not better than Pouncey."

Wow. I just had to do a double take. Can't believe Flozell Adams would say that.

Yeah, but hey, maybe Flozell realizes that his line is crap and he's sick of it.

I don't know if hes sick of it.Probably more of himself sickof looking bad. If the Center is getting pushed around (which has happened to Pouncey quite a bit) then the guards are having to help more, leaving poor old Flozell out there on an island to get beaten, plus if Pouncey is getting pushed back Big Ben can't step up in the pocket to extend a play if the tackle doesn't push the ends back far enough. If theinterior doestheir job there are plenty of situations where the tackle can do a mediocre job but lookbetter than they actually arebecause the qb steps up. Interior linemen are underrated these days.

but he has said recently during the playoffs that hes sick of losing, and about the 5 playoff losses with Dallas, so probably a combo of both.Edited by: snow

The supremely arrogant, pudgy mega-twerp, Hines Ward (Hiney Wart), exited the Steelers' team airplane, which arrived in Dallas yesterday. Ward was wearing his trademark, decade-long, oh-so irksome "watermelon grin,"Â￾ along with a cowboy hat, a long trench coat, leather cowboy boots, and two large diamond earrings. Yeah, that's right, a "man"Â￾ who wears expensive jewelry and dresses up in cute little costumes.

I didn't catch a glimpse of "Saint"Â￾ Troy Polomalu, the perpetually-injured china doll and the newly minted "Defensive Player of the Year."Â￾ God, the intense, nut-hugging glorification of this puny, cherry-picking fur-ball may even exceed the undeserving praise heaped upon Ed Reed and Bob Sanders (back before they would annually miss 10+ games per season, that is).

Pat Tillman, a player who was barely even drafted (unlike the 1st and high 2nd round picks mentioned above) out of Arizona State, would smash the lame statistics of these wimpy runts, and every other starting NFL safety, to proverbial pieces. His tackle total for a single season is likely 4-5 years of work for Polomalu, an entire career for Reed, and probably two careers for Sanders.

Tillman was viscous, fearless, fast, strong, dynamic, explosive, consistent, etc. I wonder how many "Pat Tillman types"Â￾ have been, and are still being overlooked by the NFL due exclusively to their albinism.

Since you brought Tillman up, I decided to check his stats. In 2000 he had 144 tackles which is insane for a safety. Pretty good stuff from a guy that played linebacker in college and was actually moved to a caste position in the Nfl.

Wasn't sure to make a new thread, but Jordy Nelson just caught the first touchdown in this year's Superbowl, a 29 yard reception.

Doug Legursky has had no problem with the sumo Raji. Ridiculous that this was talked about at least 100 times on ESPN leading up to the game.

Jesus, no kidding. I never in my wildest dreams could have seen some overrated rookie center being talked about as the entire difference of a Superbowl.

In either case: woooooo 14-0

Jordy, Jordy, Jordy!......3 catches, 47 yards, 1 TD

He also missed a semi-tough catch early that would have been BIG!

Also, fat Flozell injuring himself just by being the in the way of the action was somehow satisfying. Does that make me a bad person?

That was a sweet catch by Nelson. The guy can fly and he is also very physical. Jordy doesn't back down to anyone!

Man, don't buy into the announcers "blame the white guy" BS. Jordy was totally layed out and never put a finger on the ball but to them "he dropped it".......LMAO. If it had been a black receiver we would have heard how "Jennings was open, beat his man, but Rodgers just overthrew him".....

That was a catch Jordy Nelson can make. Most receivers aren't Jordy Nelson. I have seen him make some catches that seemed impossible, but of course they replay it over and over. No other receiver on the team would have had that and the announcers wouldnt have mentioned it. Even if it was catchable, hes made up for it.

Hopefully Jordy can go over the 100 yard mark for this game. He better get as many yards as possible because it won't be long before someone like Driver or Jennings starts whining. Hopefully they won't do that. Driver got to start, he made a nice catch. Let it be and let the young guys shine. Notice how the Steelers are keying in on Heath Miller, they know hes the main threat. What an underrated player, one of the best blockers on the team (including linemen) and the best receiving threat.

What a shame......Jordy Nelson was soooooo open in the endzone on that last Pack TD...but Rodgers threw underneath....I'll take the TD but another TD by Jordy would have been sweet.

Its for the best, that way hes less likely to go into the locker room whining about not enough targets, even though he has 5 targets, 1 less than Nelson.

I was so happy when Jordy caught the 1st TD pass.

Anyone else notice that when Ward caught his TD pass the camera followed him for FAR longer than it followed Nelson?

I guess Wards TD was more special and more important than Nelsons.

I'm glad someone else noticed that......I even expressed the same sentiment to my wife when it happened.....

Honestly, I don't care what team wins. I just wanted both teams to do bad and there to be a lot of Injuries and poor play and I am not disappointed as of yet. Possibly one of the most boring superbowls ever. Honestly football is boring to me unless the patriots or colts are playing

This halftime show is godawful.

Everything about it is terrible.

This is a hate-crime on the senses.

New Guy Here: Enjoying this so far Jordy is doing great work, would like to see kuhn get in on the action.<div>
</div><div>The halftime show is the worst thing I have ever seen, the male singer is incredible horrible, even with auto tuning he hardly sounds like he is even trying to sing. I have no idea if the rest of the act was a horrible listening to black keys instead.</div>
