Jones dropped a fairly easy one that had 6 or a deep bomb written all over it. Nelson really only dropped one easy one and one that was the equivalent of a line drive straight at the third baseman's head.

Jones' inconsistent hands made a reappearance with a mind-numbing drop that could have gone for a 75-yard touchdown. While he did come down with two key grabs in the fourth quarter, Jones spent the majority of the game watching Jordy Nelson pass him in the pecking order. Under the old CBA, Jones would be a restricted free agent this offseason. We suspect he'll return to Green Bay for another year, but it's no certainty.

I'll make an optimistic prediction. Jones will get a high offer from a team loving his "potential" and Green Bay will decline to offer. Donald Driver will go out on top and retire. Green Bay will draft a receiver with a mid round pick. 1- Jennings 2- Nelson 3- Swain/Rookie or FA. With a healthy Jermichael Finley, he will be the 2nd or 3rd receiving option anyway.

Zombo wasn't shown as one of the starters by Fox was he?  I thought they only showed Hawk and Matthews but I could be wrong.

If my memory serves me correctly, they did show Zombo. They showed the starters for the 3-4 defense. Each player hung on a banner, first they showed the D-Line, then the 4 LBs and I remember them showing Hawk, Matthews, and Zombo on the banners.

Yes, they did. The Packers started 3 White LBs on defense, and they had 7 starters on offense, giving them a whopping 10 White starters, which is basically double the league average of 4-5.

Interestingly, on the first play of their very first offensive series, they lined-up with a 4-WR formation, so technically, Nelson was the other White starter, not FB Corey Hall as shown on screen.

This happens quite a lot from what I've seen. On the prime-time games, they'll show the starters, then soon after play begins, an extra White or two will be out there on the field even though they weren't officially listed as starters.

It happens even more often in college ball. A lot of blacks are "ceremonial starters," apparently so as to not hurt their delicate feelings and negatively affect "the locker room."

I hope you're right about the starters next season. Would be great to see them draft Watt or Kerrigan as the line is the weakest part of their defense but both will likely be gone before Green Bay drafts at the end of the first round. They will have to trade up to get one of them. Would also be nice to see Barnett gone after his string of injuries and then pouting about not being in the team picture for the Super Bowl.

And the Patriots should be at least as White in '11 as they were this season. As disappointing as their playoff loss was, Belichick managed the admirable feat of rebuilding them as the season went on. Nobody expected the Pats to go 14-2. They should have a dynamic offense again and there could be upwards of three White starters on defense (Wright, Ninkovich, Fletcher) if things go well. Maybe Bill will even drafta White DE or LB in the early rounds this year.

In recent years, Belichick has passed on Paul Posluszny, Clay Matthews, Brian Cushing, Connor Barwin, Barrett Ruud, Matt Roth, Sean Lee, Dan Connor, Tim Shaw, etc. In most mock drafts, the "experts"Â believe that the Patriots will draft JJ Watt. I wouldn't be surprised if we were "let down"Â yet again.

Mike Wright's concussion must have been dreadful, as he missed the final 6 games (and the playoffs). Rob Ninkovich had a solid season, totaling 62 tackles, 4 sacks, and even 2 interceptions. For an undrafted, white rookie defender, Dane Fletcher had the very rare opportunity to actually play this season.

None of the aforementioned players were drafted by New England. Ninkovich was a 5th round pick of the Saints, and Wright and Fletcher weren't drafted at all.Edited by: Thrashen

Not to be forgotten are the Colts, who may also have double digit White starters.

The offense should be set with a minimum of 7 (Manning, Clark, Collie, and 4/5 OL). On defense, I'm hoping that Angerer will be earn a starting spot, but the rest of that coal-black squad is simply dreadful, save for Freeney/Mathis and the occasional big play by Brackett. The secondary is especially weak. So, a White DL and a White safety could re-wamp that unit, giving them 3, and there's your 10 starters for the Colts. A combination of the draft/FA signings could get that job done.

I may be too optimistic in that projection regarding the Colts defense, however.

foobar, I think we canhave high hopes for the Colts as well. The Colts run a two-TE offense, and with the emergence of Tamme he will start. Collie technichally didnt start, to the best of my knowledge, though he will next year.So with only Wayne, whichever subpar RB they have, and 1 black OLman, they should have 8 whites on offense. On D Angerer will definetly start, he was too good. Fransisco is their starting FS. So 10 white starters is probable.

Aaron Rodgers said that Jermichael Finley "is the best TE in the NFL."

I think Jason Witten (who always plays through pain) would have something to say about that..

Even young GRONK has more career TDs than Finley.. 10 to 7!

Isn't it interesting how the NFL Network rarely replays the Packers Super Bowl win. When it does, its a condensed NFL Replay type version compared to the last couple of years that had the full game including halftime as well. Last year it seemed like they replayed the Saints SB win around the clock and in its entirety.Edited by: toddelle

Interesting point, toddelle. I don't get the NFL network and would not have known about that. I wouldn't be surprised to see the double standard at work there.
