Backrow-The Steelers need a replacement for Dan Kreider and it most certainly isn`t the talent-challenged Carey Davis.

Of course I think Schmitt could run the ball quite a bit in the NFL, but, if it`s necessary in living with the Caste System, I`d be happy to see him on the Steelers as the White Blocking Demon FB, instead of the useless black guy they had last season.

Do you think he`d be anything other than a blocker for any NFL team? Hillis won`t be anything other than a lead back, either.

I`m more interested in the second day of the draft than the first. With the time difference I have to stay up overnight to watch it, but it`s worth it. I didn`t bother to do it last night.

By the way, I wouldn`t be surprised to see Danny Woodhead go as Mr. Irrelevant in the 7th round. He`s never gotten the respect he`s deserved thus far, so it would be par for the course.

The chargers will use Hester to back up Ladanian. They are becoming a real favorite of mine as far as white freindly teams. They are now my 2nd favorite team. They must have faith in him if they traded a 2nd round pick next year for him. The only down side is how much playing will he get backing up LT.

well turner had about 300-400 yards per years, but LT is getting older, and a little less effective last year, so he could maybe get more. I just hope he will not be forgotten like Leonard last year, put at FB and getting no offensives touches even though he was supposed to be the backup RB

Zbikowski analysis from nfl.com:

"A hard-nosed safety who can hit and play strong in run support. Also a special teams return man who can be a valuable contributor in the kicking game, something new coach John Harbaugh will love in Baltimore. Not extremely fast, but has a good sense of the game."

The Ravens have improved in regards to utilizing white players since the start of the decade. Kelly Gregg and Jarrett Johnson (who replaced Thomas when he went to NE) both were productive last year. And, Harbaugh should be a clear upgrade over Billick in terms of incorporating white players into his system.

A growing number of Ravens fans are getting tired of Ray Lewis' antics as the "unquestioned team leader".

I can see Tom Z seeing a lot of time. Aside from Reed, the Ravens are weak at safety, and really lack depth.

i am kind of also worried about more ol being black, we have one white lineman on the saints, stinchcomb, and the whole line does terrible, and who gets singled out as the worst lineman we have? stinchcomb? when reggie bush can't be patient enough to follow a block, who gets blamed, stinchcomb, but then the rest of the line gets praised because brees is infrequently sacked, but thats more do to quick descion making and getting the ball off quick, but its also made him make a few bad ones, imagine if he had a line like manning or brady has

Patriots draft Kevin O'Connell who ran a 4.61 and is 6'5", 225 pounds. O'Connell is a great athlete who runs really well with the ball.

Speculation on my part, but I'd love to see Belichick use him at WR. Drew Bennett was a QB at UCLA who made the move to receiver in the NFL, and O'Connell's faster.

Norv turner on interview said that jacob was " a runner, a complete player who can help us in various ways" " a versatile runner who can help ladanian"

he didn't mention fullback one time in the interview, it's great!

San Diego traded up to get Jacob, just like they did for Weddle last year. Weddle played a lot as a rookie, and will be a starter at safety this season.

San Diego needs a runner like Hester, a back who has always shown a propensity to gain additional yardage after being hit.

This is a great fit for both parties involved.

From SDBoltReport.com:

San Diego filled its need for depth at running back and fullback with a single pick. The Chargers traded into the third round to tab LSU runner Jacob Hester, a do-it-all back who can run, block and catch. In exchange, San Diego shipped its fifth-round pick in 2008 and a second-round pick in 2009 to the New England Patriots.

Hester will be the power back the Chargers need. Hester (5'10", 226 pounds) earned his keep by toting the rock last season. In 2007, he carried 225 times for 1,103 yards (4.9 avg).

Hester also provides depth at fullback, where incumbent Andrew Pinnock is coming off microfracture knee surgery. Hester and Pinnock are both hybrid backs who excel working out of one-back sets, a formation the Chargers will deploy more often in 2008.
