2008 NFL Draft Scorecard

From nfldraft.rivals.com:

"Murphy: Steltz is a throwback. Teams love this guy's mentality. He was much more athletic at his workouts than most expected. His instincts and savvy should allow him to play as a rookie if Mike Brown goes down again."

I sure am glad to know he`s a highly-regarded throwback with a loveable mentality.

It's funny to listen to Cris Carter on ESPN bash the Viking wide receivers as he attempts to deflect criticism from Jackson.

At least on the NFL Network Charles Davis is honest and impartial enough to say that Jackson had better prepare himself for the upcoming season as Booty presents a very legitimate threat to his starting job.

I wouldn't bash Carter too much. He did tell the city of Atlanta to get over the white/black issue that has lead to some of the anger over picking Brohm. I think his issue with the Vikings wideouts has more to do with him not being there anymore.

I had a lot of favorite players coming to the NFL in this draft. I'm really happy where a lot of them turned up.

Tommy Z. in Baltimore. He'll get to play there

JD Booty at Minnesota, Hester at SD (I'm sure he'll take over as Michael Turners replacement).

I'm a little dissapointed that Steltz had to go to Chicago. I still kind of like the Bears, but I don't imagine he'll get as much time there as he would in other places.

Let's hope the rest of the white class find good homes where they can be effectively used!

Earlier he was comparing someone to welker. Saying he is way ahead of where welker was at this stage and all the guys were like yeah...um welker is pretty dam good and carter was ..he's a complimentary receiver...he wasn't any good before Moss got there. Carter is a f**kin loser.Edited by: Bearly Sane

is felton white or black? not familiar with him

Mulatto I think.

Overall, by my count there have been only 31 or so white players taken, almost halfway thru the 5th round. Last year had about 65 total whites taken, so things are not looking good.
Positives are no black QB's taken, and several white Tight ends taken.

Well Mike, since I make sure that I limit my exposure to Cris Carter as much as possible (since he's proven to be a continued nuisance for a long time now), I probably won't be bashing him much in the future.

Feel free to love the guy as much as you want, buddy.

Referendum: You`re right. The numbers don`t look good at all so far.

It bothers me that whites are hardly picked for anything on the O-Line other than interior positions, and on the D-Line the ethnic cleansing is almost complete.

MIKE: I don`t get the relevance of this statement in 2008 about long-since retired Cris Carter:

Kory Biermen DE just went to the falcons im sure he is white

Yes Biermann is a very good white defensive player from Montana. By my count, he is the 32nd white player selected.

Roy Schuening just selected by the Rams.Edited by: Sean

Yeah, Mike Tomlin gets Dennis Dixon to be the Steelers` 3rd stringer. We`ll hear nothing but how great an athlete he is for the next few years. The Steelers were probably shocked that Blacksonville didn`t select him the pick before.

This should workout good for Schmitt since the whole Shaun Alexander fiasco, it's good timing for him.
