(I've compiled a list of all the potential White draftees and rookie free agents by taking the average ranking from all of the major draft/scouting sources and pulling off anyone who comes in near, at or under nfldraftscout.com's listed number likely to make an nfl camp at a given position. Feel free to suggest additions if I've made any glaring omissions or subtractions if someone mistakenly turns out to be non-White. You missed one on via Nfldraftscout.com; Nate Forse has a shot at making a camp according his Nfldraftscout.com rank. He's ranked at 125. Tommy Ellingworth has also been ranked in the top 100, I think, by Pro Football Weekly since he ran a 4.38 at his Pro Day. Brian Hernandez from Utah is also a good player, but I don't think he's getting much interest from teams.

Very nice work Reclaim. I figured I would go through a list and make my projections to where each of these players will probably be drafted. This is not indicative of how I feel about all these players but where I think they will actually go. I think I could make a good 53 man roster out of all the talent available in the draft. Judging by these numbers 78 out of 252 players draftedwill be white. So about 30% which seems to be the standard. OT, OG are very hard to project just because its difficult to see how different teams evaluate players. Im no expert but do follow the draft process closely and think I have a pretty good idea of where these players will end up.

how good are the defensive tackles coming out of this draft? there doesn't seem to many on your list for that position, but i hope the saints get one of them instead of losing picks to trade up for dorsey or ellis

None of the White DT's in this years draft class are expected to go higher then maybe mid 3rd (Hayden). Nick Hayden is a high motor guy who may project out to a 3-4 End position. He could beconsidered a poor man's Chris Hovan.


Lokey was solid at Texas, but much like Robison last year was overshadowded a bit by an underachieving Black counterpart.


Hout is probably a 3-4 End more then a pure DT. Norwell had good production as a Senior but never got the offseason push he needed to move up the board.


Defensive Tackle has probably become the 3rd Caste position in my opinion behind Cornerback and Tailback. All of the top White DT talent is shifted to the O-Line due to a percieved lack of quickness, that in actuality is probably one of the most backwards stereotypes held, as many of the Blacks left at the DT slot are simply slow fat slugs. This draft will not likely help the cause much, but a guy like Hayden certainly has the talent to become an elite player.

Probably depends on how badly he wants it. I think he gets a camp invite unless he decides its an easier road to go to the CFL. Once in camp, who knows. It depends on how much of a shot he is actually given. Admittedly, I haven't really seen the kid play, so I'm just going on what I've read on the various sites.

None of the White DT's in this years draft class are expected to go higher then maybe mid 3rd (Hayden). Nick Hayden is a high motor guy who may project out to a 3-4 End position. He could be considered a poor man's Chris Hovan.


Lokey was solid at Texas, but much like Robison last year was overshadowded a bit by an underachieving Black counterpart.


Hout is probably a 3-4 End more then a pure DT. Norwell had good production as a Senior but never got the offseason push he needed to move up the board.


Defensive Tackle has probably become the 3rd Caste position in my opinion behind Cornerback and Tailback. All of the top White DT talent is shifted to the O-Line due to a percieved lack of quickness, that in actuality is probably one of the most backwards stereotypes held, as many of the Blacks left at the DT slot are simply slow fat slugs. This draft will not likely help the cause much, but a guy like Hayden certainly has the talent to become an elite player.

The lack of white DT's is puzzling to me. At one time when the 3-4 defense was the rage of the NFL, virtually all of the nose tackles/nose guards were white. I also recall some huge white tackles in the early 80's Louie Kelcher was the "Fridge" before the "Fridge". Picture a Hell's Angel with a Chargers patch.....

Yeah, it really makes no sense considering that white DEs are known for their brute strength and ability against the run (ie. Kampman, Allen, J. Smith, Kerney)

I believe the "top DT tackler" in the AFC was white Kelly Gragg from the Ravens despite the fact that there are virtually no white DTs that play.

You would think the fact that whites notoriously win the worlds strongest man (we also have the squat and bench records) and the fact that whites are known for their burst, motor and heady play more so than speed would make DT the least caste position other than QB and OL. It just makes no sense. The caste system is what it is it doesn't make sense in how it discriminates.

Jake Long is the pick!

I'm glad Jake is the first pick of the draft, but he's now the highest paid o-lineman in the NFL before ever playing a down -- $30 million guaranteed. The NFL way overpays its draft picks. One of the reasons so many highly drafted black picks become busts is that, not being "high motor" guys to begin with, once they get their bonus money they losewhatevermotivation they had to become great at the pro level. But that's the NFL's problem, one of many that will eventually expose the Caste System for the long-standing sick joke that it is.

One thing I hate about the draft (at least the first round) is that room where they have all of the projected top picks sitting. Eery year it seems like one guy (usually white) gets left sitting in there long after he should have been picked. This happened to Big Ben when he was drafted. It happened to Matt Leinart as well.

Also, let's see who wins the Mike Hass award for being the white player who gets screwed over the most this year.

Sports Illustrated this week decided to mark the 10th anniversary of the famous 1998 draft (Peyton Manning vs. Ryan Leaf) by having a "re-do" of the first round, based on how the players in that draft eventually panned out in the NFL. Surprise, surprise (to everyone but us) -- SI's revisionist first round has 13 white players in it -- Peyton Manning (still first overall of course), Matt Hasselbeck (3rd overall), Alan Faneca (5th), Olin Kreutz (6th), Matt Birk (11th), Jeff Saturday (14th, originally undrafted), Keith Brooking (17th), Grant Wistrom (20th), Brian Griese (21st), Benji Olsen (25th), Jeremy Newberry (26th), Steve McKinney (28th), Jason Fabini (29th).


Only 7 white players were taken in the first round in '98. Gee, what would happen if the NFL would draft and develop white players at positions other than QB and the offensive line and the occasional defensive player. Why the league would become white dominated -- which is exactly why this year's draft, like every other one for the past 25 years, will be black dominated.

The Patriots pick has really been the only big disappointment so far. That should have been Dan Connor's spot in a colorblind world. Otherwise, things are going about as expected. I think another 5 yard apes or so and then we get into the range where a White may be selected.
