    Slavs? Germans?

I don't deny that many died of typhus at Dachau, but to say that a gas chamber did not exist there is stupid. I walked through the damn thing. It was obvious what the room was used for. It was right next to the crematorium where they took the bodies out and burned them. Have you ever been to...

    Slavs? Germans?

I visited the Dachau concentration camp last Fall and came away with this thought. The Nazis imprisoned and killed anyone, including Germans, that did not support the Nazi party. Of the prisoners killed there, only about 1/3 were Jews (according to camp records). The rest were political...

    John Mosure

Maybe he thinks that he is too small for a fullback;) I would say that 5'10" and 211 lbs is the prototype size for a running back.

    2009 Rice Owls

I think they should be poised for a bowl game this year. They did win the Texas Bowl last year over Western Michigan, 38-14.

    2009 Rice Owls

I mentioned this in the Miami thread. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/college/rice/6590328.html Miami QB heading to Rice By SAM KHAN JR. Copyright 2009 Houston Chronicle Aug. 27, 2009, 11:11PM The Rice Owls' quarterback situation has been the talk of fall camp. Now it...

    2009 Miami Hurricanes

I just heard from one of my inside sources that Taylor Cook will be transferring to Rice University, which is close to his hometown. Rice is quickly becoming one of my favorite teams. Cook is a stud at 6'7", 235 lbs and runs a 4.6. He was one of the top Texas HS QB recruits a couple of...

    2009 Texas A&M Aggies

It looks like I was wrong on Tannehill and he will be stuck as the backup QB. On an up note, Lucas Patterson will be moved to DL to lighten up the defense. http://www.aggieathletics.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/082409aad.html Texas A&M Football Daily Report Aug. 24, 2009 COLLEGE...

2009 World Championship of Track & Field

Wariner's performance in the past two years really is a head scratcher. He ran a 44.60, a full second slower than what he was running 2 years ago. Makes me think that he has been on top for so long that he is no longer motivated to train as hard.

2009 World Championship of Track & Field

Trey Hardee won the Decathlon with 8790 pts. A new PB and a World Championship. Great job Trey!! Once again, the World's Greatest Athlete is a white man. Unfortunately, Bolt will receive all of the press.

2009 World Championship of Track & Field

According to the U.S. sports media, Harting would be considered "soft", "hard working overachiever", or "competes with a high motor". Anything but athletic. You decide. Germany's Robert Harting roars as he rips his vest off his shoulders in exultation in winning the men's Discus Throw at...

2009 World Championship of Track & Field

I agree, lane 1 has to run the entire curve, which is also tighter. It takes a lot of upper body and core strength to maintain sprinting form to run a fast curve. Anyone who has run the 200m will agree with me. Centrifugal force is pushing your body outward, so your upper body must overcome...

2009 World Championship of Track & Field

Hardee sits in 3rd place (4511 pts) after day 1. Diaz from Cuba ran out of his mind to a 46.15 in the 400m to move him one point (4512 pts) above Hardee in 2nd place. Kasyanov of Ukraine is having a great meet and leads with 4555 pts. Trey's achilles heel has always been the pole vault. If...

2009 World Championship of Track & Field

Hardee is a stud and the most gifted athlete in the decathlon. He has had injury problems which has kept him from becoming a household name. If he can put it all together in one meet, he can break the world record, he's that good.

    Lance Armstrong

Armstrong finished the TDF in 3rd place today. A very good finish considering that he has been away from the sport for 3+ years and his competitors were more than 10 years younger than him. Armstrong says that he is going to compete next year with a new team. With a full year of training, I...

    Texas 2009 Watch List

Like you said, my focus has been on skill players, so I am not familiar with him. I follow some of the top linemen in the Houston area where I live because I have the opportunity to watch them in person. Unless you can watch them in person, it really hard to evaluate the line positions.

    Texas 2009 Watch List

Here are some of the top white players, at caste positions, in Texas for 2009 (class of 2010). I will add players as they come to my attention: Chad Moncure - S, Richmond Travis HS, 6'-1", 180 lbs, 4.49 40 time, 34" VJ, 4.28 shuttle. Dominated the Houston National Underclassmen Combine...

    2009 Texas A&M Aggies

Peterson also has the school record for vertical leap, 41 inches!! He will be the starter. He was hurt during spring practice and McQueen had a good spring, but doesn't have any game experience and is a former walk on. Tannehill will be a starting WR. He was a Freshman All-Big 12 last year.

    barefoot training?

There was a short lived fad about 10 or so years where some athletes were training either barefoot or with special shoes with little or no padding/support. The theory was that modern running shoes had too much support causing the foot and lower leg muscles to become weak, causing sprained...

    Aarrhon Flores - TX

Flores, although not 100% white (he's native/mexican/white mix), is worth mentioning from his performance in this past weekend's state championship meet. Flores runs in the 2A division for Floyada, which is a small town in the Panhandle of TX. At the state meet, his performance was impressive...

Hebert qualified for 4 events (LJ, TJ, 100m, 200m) in this weekends Texas State Track Championships. He competes at the 3A level for Poteet, which is a small town south of San Antonio. His championship meet was very impressive, 2nd in the 100m (10.65), 1st in the 200m (21.33), 1st in the LJ...

    Chance Imhoff - WR

There may be something to your calf observation, but what about the white guys that have smaller calves? Every race has a variety of body types and shapes, so I think that it hard to make generalizations like this.

    RB - Bo Snelson

Anyone who is questioning Bo's speed needs to only look at the fact that he is the lead off leg of one of the top 4x100m sprint relay teams in the state of Texas (as I mentioned in the Chance Imhoff thread). Here's a highlight video that I found of him, Bo Snelson Football Highlights Navy...
