Recent BUSTS

Drafted early in the second round, Football Dad's favorite long-arm will have to find another team to finally realize his upside:

Chiefs released OT Jawaan Taylor. Taylor joined the Chiefs during the 2023 offseason, signing a four-year, $80 million deal. Taylor has started all 45 games he has appeared in for the Chiefs, but his 2025 season was cut short by a shoulder injury. The veteran tackle had one year left on his contract, but his release will free up $20 million in cap space for the Chiefs, who are trying to get under the cap before the start of free agency. The Chiefs have Jaylon Moore listed behind Taylor on the depth chart, and after signing him to a fairly large deal last offseason, he’d make sense as the replacement.

The Chiefs love big, long-armed, black sumo tackles. That fetish has effectively derailed Mahomes’ quest to become the GOAT.

Combine the predictable decline in play when the line goes sumo along with bad coaching and any QB is going to be beat to smithereens. Even with penalty-magnet Taylor being released the prognosis regarding the players does not look to improve this offseason. Moore is a slightly worse player than Taylor but without the voluminous pile of yellow laundry every game.

Needless to say, Tom Brady has no need to look over his shoulder, if he ever did.

Murray is a bust for sure given the expectations of being a first overall pick.

This bum was the 11th overall pick of the 2020 draft. Will Jimmy Harbaugh look for another "Joe Alt type" to add to the line or will the Chargers continue their tradition of the past decade-plus of having lousy sumo dominated lines?

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports the Chargers will release G Mekhi Becton. The move would save around $10 million against the salary cap for LA. Pro Football Focus graded Becton in 2025 as the ninth worst pass-blocking guard in the NFL. Only eight guards allowed more quarterback pressures than Becton and five guards gave up more QB hits than the veteran. Becton, 26, is likely to catch on with another team this offseason in need of offensive line depth. The Chargers’ offensive line is undergoing an overhaul this offseason.

I'm sure that he has the requisite long arms though. Some team will pick him up since it's obvious he wasn't coached properly! I've no time to peruse PFF today, but I wonder what skin tone the 8 guards worse than Becton have?

Long of arms slow of feets, it is funny to watch them get beat though with feet stuck in place and arms a flailing after the defensive player. Back in the day if memory serves me right Mike Wahle was drafted by GB and had not solidified a spot on the OL. So for a game he was put at left tackle and it did not go well for him or the team. As it was widely stated at that time he had bad footwork and got moved to guard where he did rather well for the rest of his career. But maybe it is me and my lack of sports media time but I don't believe I hear much about footwork and OL play.

Despite NFL teams squandering 35 to 40 draft picks a year on cornerbacks, or more than one rookie per year per team at the position, teams are still desperate for CB help, as the demand for this nobody illustrates, a six year backup. Maybe if more than one White per generation were allowed to play the position, the annual need wouldn't be nearly so great:

Senior NFL Insider Josina Anderson reports “eight to nine teams” are interested in impending free agent CB James Pierre. The six-year veteran has made only 13 professional starts with the Steelers but is expected to draw significant interest in the free agent market if not signed by Monday, Senior NFL Insider Josina Anderson reports. This comes on the heels of the expectation that numerous teams will be looking to the free agent pool for help at cornerback in the coming cycle, a notion that could spark rapid fire signings in the secondary. Pierre was a mainstay on special teams in Pittsburgh and contributed 614 defensive snaps the previous two seasons.

Confirmed the victim was a White woman.
Classic. Just saw a instagram video from a news segment on the incident and somebody made a “typical black behavior” type comment to which a random black replied “your daughter is next”. Great people

Another big bust gets to try and reach his upside with his 3rd team in 4 years.
I took the time to read the pre draft analysis for this bum and then compared it to the pre draft analysis of Alec Pierce. Pierce is bigger and was faster in every single drill ran at the combine yet you can see the stark difference in the “analysis” from the “experts”. Oh how wrong they were LOL.

Checkout the overview, strengths, weakness and the “what sources tell us” sections for some good laughs. It really is an insight into how stupid some of these scouts are.

Jahan Dotson:

Is it too early to say Anthony Richardson is a bust? I remember saying when he was drafted that he would never be a good nfl quarterback
