Week 9 starts today

Not much going on in the week night games.

Tuesday
Kennesaw St vs FIU
Western Kentucky vs La Tech

Wednesday
Middle Tennessee vs Delaware
Missouri St vs New Mexico St

Thursday
South Alabama vs Ga State

Friday

North Texas vs Charlotte
- QB Drew Mestemaker continues his great season for the 6-1 Mean Green. WR Wyatt Young has emerged has his top target

Cal vs Va Tech - Trond Grizzell is about all that is interesting here. Needs to get more involved in the passing game to get some positive momentum heading into draft season.

Boise St vs Nevada - The Broncos have a great shot to win out and achieve a double digit win season. Nevada has been bad but DL Dylan Labarbera has had a very good season as has LB Stone Combs. They rank 1 and 2 in tackles on the team.

Saturday

UCLA vs Indiana
- UCLA has won three in a row. I don't think this will be a trap game for the Hoosiers who have looked like the most impressive, dominant team in the country. QB Fernando Mendoza continues his great season, his draft stock is surging as are his Heisman chances. The Hoosiers are not a perfect team but are one of the most palatable #2 ranked teams we have seen in some time.

Syracuse vs Ga Tech - The transfer portal gave the Orange QB Steve Angeli but also gave them the overrated Rickie Collins who has looked bad in relief. Freshman QB Luke Carney played some last week but did this did not help the Orange out. I'd rather see Carney sit this year to maintain 4 years of eligbility instead of lose eligibility on what looks to be a lost season. For the Yellow Jackets QB Haynes King is a heisman dark horse, his candidacy will very much be tied to whether or not Ga Tech remains undefeated.

Ole Miss vs Oklahoma - Seeing Lane Kiffin's odious team lose last week was great. Oklahoma bounced back in a trouncing of South Carolina a week after losing to Texas. Mateer is another week removed from surgery and will hopefully be at 100% for this game. The Sooners have a tough upcoming schedule so this is a must win. On defense LBs Owen Heinecke and Taylor Heim are contributing along with DL Taylor Wein. The Sooners defense is much improved this year.

Virginia vs UNC - Chandler Morris will hopefully lead a high octane offense and the "genius" will get embarrassed once again.

Northwestern vs Nebraska - The Cornhuskers were dominated up front last week against the Gophers. A repeat by the upstart Wildcats this week would be nice. The Wildcats are one of the better stories in college football this year. White athletes all over their defense and WR Griffin Wilde is one of the better WRs in recent history for the program. QB Preston Stone has been another solid get in the transfer portal. A great example of how to build a team through recruiting and the transfer portal.

Rutgers vs Purdue - Rutgers was embarrassed last week. Purdue has lost 5 straight.

App St vs Old Dominion - Just here for QB Colton Joseph

Bowling Green vs Kent St - Frankly I have lost interest in the MAC this year, just a real sad downturn in the conference. Have not watched any MAC football, I will take in some MACtion and plan to at least watch Kent St once mostly for the curious case of RB Cade Wolford - he has not done much rushing but has 13 receptions for 329 yards and 5 TDs. A really under the radar player.

Auburn vs Arkansas - One coach has been fired this season and Hugh Freeze has started with splitting QB reps to make Jackson Arnold the scapegoat. Don't bother with this game.

UCONN vs Rice - QB Joe Fagnano has thrown for 1918 yards, 15 TDs and 0 INTs but no one in the national media has given him any sort of recognition. He's been in college way too long but so was Tyler Shough. I think he has developed into a draftable QB prospect for a league in dire need of QBs.

Utah St vs New Mexico - WR Braden Pegan has a good shot at 1k yards this year. QB Bryson Barnes will hopefully target him alot going down the stretch.

Alabama vs South Carolina - QB Ty Simpson has simply been elite this season. He is on the ever shortening list of Heisman candidates. LaNorris Sellers not so much.

Missouri vs Vanderbilt - Should be a good match up between two good QBs. Pavia's antics are bit over the top for my liking so I am going with Pribula in this one.

BYU vs Iowa St - The Cyclones started off the year 5-0 but have dropped their last 2. RB Carson Hansen is not being treated as the bellcow RB. WR Chase Roberts has been very good, another WR that needs to get more targets down the stretch to try and hit 1k receiving yards.

Illinois vs Washington - The Illini brand of football travels well. Let's hope Laughery's injury issues are behind him and he can finish the season strong.

Minnesota vs Iowa - CF game of the week. Teams that are very similar both in scheme and roster composition. Hoping for a tough fought game with the Hawkeyes coming out on top.

Toledo vs Washington St - The Cougars have had an up and down year. 4 of their last 5 games are winnable. They play the awful Oregon State Beavers twice this season.

NC State vs Pitt - QB Mason Heintschel continues to have a hot hand for the Panthers. I'll eat crow on this decision by Narduzzi.

FAU vs Navy - White skill position players all over the field in this one. Should be a good game and fun to check the box score once it is over.

Oklahoma St vs Texas Tech - Texas Tech is coming off a huge defeat last week. I'd expect them to bounce back in a big way this week against the lowly Cowboys. WR Coy Eakin needs to get more involved in the offense. Not sure if Morton or Hammond will be playing QB this week either.

Baylor vs Cincinnati - A matchup of two of the better QBs not just in the Big 12 but the country in Bears QB Sawyer Robertson and Bearcats QB Brendan Sorsby.

Texas vs Mississippi St - A definite trap game for the Longhorns who underperformed badly against a bad Kentucky team last week. Manning needs to continue to improve. I don't know if Taaffe will suit up for this one.

TCU vs WVU - A lost season for Rich Rod in Morgantown. TCU should win this game easily, hopefully with a little more involvement from their White WRs.

Wisconsin vs Oregon - If the Badgers are absolutely embarrassed in the game could it be the end for Dickell?

Stanford vs Miami - The Hurricanes and Beck laid a turd last week. The Cardinal are coming off a nice upset win of FSU.

Texas A&M vs LSU - Brian Kelly has underwhelmed once again as head coach for the Tigers. This game will determine whether or not LSU remains on the periphery of the playoff conversation. Rooting for QB Garrett Nussmeier to have a big time performance.

Boston College vs Louisville - Bill O'Brien's first season has been bad. QB Dylan Lonergan came out of the gates looking great but was benched last week. Might be wise to let him sit out this lost season at this point. QB Miller Moss has been another very good transfer portal get.

Houston vs Arizona St - Last week QB Sam Leavitt showed the caliber of QB he was leading the Sun Devils to an upset of Texas Tech. This week he plays a decently palatable Houston team with solid QB Connor Weigman and RB Dean Connors.

Colorado vs Utah - Another week of Ryan Davis getting a lot of targets and the White Utes defenders making plays.

Thanks for the write up. It is an FCS game, but the SDSU vs. NDSU game is also this week. Both programs have tons of Whites and they are also the top two teams in the FCS this season. No one did a writeup on either team this year, but I think North Dakota State started like 16 last year and South Dakota State was maybe 15? I would imagine both programs have similar numbers this year.

Not sure about NDSU, but SDSU starts 16 whites overall, depending on whether you consider this guy white or not

but by all means, he look white when he's on the field but if not counted, then it's 15 whites starting

There are several interviews with him on the Internet and he is definitely white. There is also good footage of him at defensive tackle. He's only 6' but weighs 280 and, yet, is fairly quick and aqile.

Mestemaker with 608 passing yards and 4 TDs in the win for North Texas!
and two White wideouts went over 100 yards for North Texas, as well.

sophomore Wyatt Young hauled in 9 receptions for 190 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown catch-and-run that was a thing of beauty.

the vastly underused Landon Sides had 5 catches for 114 yards, including a 60-yarder where he broke multiple tackles.

the fleet-footed Dalton Carnes added 2 catches for 41 yards.

in the loss, Sean Brown had 4 catches for 58 yards.

I did a mini-write up for South Dakota State, followed by a brief write-up for Sacramento State. The Hornets, who currently playing Montana on ESPN 2, not too long ago were a fairly White friendly program -- with some high profile stars like Skattebo, Jackson and Scudero. No more, after hiring a DEI staff.

Montana looks pretty bleak too. Poly QB, blacks all over the roster. Recruiting quite a bit outside of the upper midwest.

When's the last time 2 White WRs from the same team went over 100 yards in the same game? Maybe at Boise State during the Kellen Moore era. That's the first thing that comes to my mind.

Northwestern can actually complete a forward pass
watching the one-v-one matchup between Northwestern’s Griffin Wilde, the Wildcats’ best wideout, and Andrew Marshall, the Cornhuskers’ top cover guy, is a lot of fun.

Marshall is lining up across from Wilde regardless of where he goes, and it’s some high level stuff. Wilde has gotten the better of the matchup early (2 for 41, so far), but the Northwestern quarterback has missed him on a couple of other occasions.

North Texas in Denton, Texas is a hotbed of suburban Friday night lights football. They can make a living scooping up all the White boys that UT and A&M ignore.

Where did @footballenthusiast go? It was fun seeing his updates on the weekly college gameday threads.

Indiana was one again dominant. Mendoza wasn't his best but was certainly good enough. He has to be the Heisman front runner at this point.

It is either him, Ty Simpson, or Julian Sayin. I think Mendoza has had the best season among those three so far.

I know that Gronowski has not had the greatest season passing the ball, but his rushing ability has really benefitted Iowa's offense. He has 10 rushing TDs and like 300 yards on the season. The yardage total isn't anything crazy but Iowa traditionally not really had mobile QBs.

Agreed. He has brought stability to the position at the very least.

Yes. It's very much a QB award this year and on top of that it's three White QBs at the top of the list. The media will of course try to make cases for a black player down the stretch of the season. None of the hyped up black WRs from the preseason can really make a case.
