Richard Crawford didn't do much covering of either of those players so his opinion should not matter much. He is just made he got consistently beat by a white WR.

This helps to counter yesterday's bad news about Sean Lee:

Fantasy football fiends, brace yourselves. Danny Amendola could be back much sooner than expected.

The top target in the St. Louis Rams passing game suffered a potentially life-threatening shoulder injury during the team’s Oct. 4 win against Arizona. On Wednesday, he was back on the field with his teammates in London where they’re preparing to “hostâ€￾ New England on Sunday at New Wembley Stadium.

Rams Coach Jeff Fisher said Amendola practice in a limited capacity, but his progress could put him ahead of the initial six-week time table St. Louis anticipated.

Danny's finally getting some long overdue praise from Caste System gatekeepers. It always works that way with the rare White WR who "breaks through" all the barriers of the Caste System -- they continue to use all the obligatory pejorative stereotypes even after the White WR is doing very well, then finally give him begruding praise after it becomes undeniable that he's a star. Nelson, Decker and Hartline were all typecast as possession receivers even after they showed they were outside playmakers. We all know Wes Welker's story. It took years before Kevin Walter was accepted as a legitimate starter for the Texans (and he's still starting all these years later). Riley Cooper will be another "surprise" star if he ever gets an opportunity to start.

After Amendola caught a ton of passes in 2010 but had a poor yards per catch average, every single football writer had the same appraisal of him -- good possession receiver but no ability after the catch. This even though Amendola had been a great kick returner at Texas Tech and showed well returning punts and kickoffs in the NFL in '09 and '10.

Now that it's become undeniable that Amendola is the total package as a receiver, Caste clowns like Mike Lombardi are becoming masters of the obvious and finally praising Danny, albeit still as a slot receiver even though Amendola also plays outside. From Weenieworld:

Tony Softli, formerly the Rams VP of player personnel and Panthers director of college scouting, believes Rams WR Danny Amendola has emerged as a "Blue" player this season. "Blue means play maker and difference maker; an impact player each and every time they touch the field," explained Softli. "It is a future Pro Bowler that can take over a game with great production." NFL Network's Michael Lombardi agrees, telling Rotoworld "the slot receiver is a position all to it self -- and in that category, he is a blue -- with an arrow up." If the Rams agree with the evaluation, Amendola will be a candidate for the franchise tag in 2013. His Dynasty value has been steadily rising as he's shown increased playmaking ability this season.

Due to Danny missing 20 of 32 games the past two seasons with injuries, looks like the Rams are going to let him test the free agent market. I hope the Patriots do everything possible to sign Wes Welker and let him finish his career with New England (which should ensure his eventual election to the Hall of Fame), but if they let Wes go, Amendola would be a fantastic fit.

Danny Amendola Offers Patriots Reliable, Productive Slot Receiver if Wes Welker Doesn't Return

Wes Welker
is in the midst of yet another contract stalemate with the Patriots this offseason, only this dispute could bring about change.

The two sides tangoed once last year with the franchise tag ultimately being slapped on the perennial Pro Bowl wideout. The Patriots seem uninterested in paying Welker the 20 percent markup over last year’s $9.5 million — about $11.4 million — with another tag and no real progress made on an extension, making free agency look more likely every day.

Fortunately for Tom Brady, there are a number of premier wide receivers set to hit the market and among them is a Welker clone.

Danny Amendola
has long been compared to Welker. From his college career at Texas Tech — also Welker’s alma meter — to his undersized frame (5-foot-11, 185 pounds) and his primary role as a possession receiver, the comparisons are endless. Now, with Welker headed for the exit, Amendola could draw another parallel as Brady’s new favorite target.

Brady has relied on Welker more than any other Patriots receiver over the past five seasons, targeting him 156 times per season, and will likely continue focusing the passing attack around whoever is manning the slot. Amendola has proven he’s more than capable of handling such responsibilities, first with 85 catches on 123 targets in 2010 and again with 63 grabs on 101 targets in 2012. It’s also important to note that was done with Sam Bradford in the forever forsaken Rams offense.

So, production shouldn’t be an issue in switching over to Amendola in the slot. His addition would also add value for the Patriots, as that similar production would come at around $4-to-$5 million per year instead of the near $10 million Welker made last season.

The big question mark associated in the change would be Amendola’s health. After two strong seasons to begin his career, playing in 30 of a possible 32 games, the 27-year-old receiver has fallen victim to the injuries. Over the past two seasons, Amendola has only managed to play in 12 of the possible 32 games for the Rams. Comparatively, the soon-to-be 32-year-old Welker has missed just three games in his entire eight-year NFL career. So, durability will be a definite concern.

Looking past the potential injured reserve visits, however, Amendola has all the makings of a capable and productive receiver in this offense. His reception-to-target ratio (63 percent) in 2012 wasn’t quite as high as Welker’s (69 percent), but in his four-year career he’s caught 67 percent of his targets which is closer in line with the 71 percent Welker’s hauled in over the past four seasons. So, with Brady, not Bradford, throwing him passes, Amendola should see a steady increase on that front, too.

Losing a player with the talent and passion of Welker isn’t easy for any franchise, but business is business and value is value. The Patriots don’t make emotional moves, and as much as Welker is emotionally attached to this franchise forever, they won’t compromise their future for an older receiver with double the salary.

Danny Amendola has reportedly been the "one bright spot" in the Patriots' receiver room so far.
Per the Boston Globe, Amendola is "clearly the most polished receiver on the field." Beat writer Ben Volin says that if the ex-Ram plays all 16 games, there's "little reason" to think he won't top 100 catches this season. Given Amendola's role in the slot, the inexperience at "X" and the Pats' troubles at tight end, the 112.0 catches per season Wes Welker averaged as a Patriot is an extremely realistic goal. Amendola has a WR1 ceiling.

more good news. stay healthy Danny! (and Julian...)

Coach Bill Belichick said Danny Amendola has "become a very dependable player for us."
Trust is a crucial part of the Patriots' fine-tuned passing scheme. Amendola has earned it by being the best receiver through both OTAs and training camp. "He doesn't make many mental errors," Belichick said. "He's a guy who is usually in the right spot and has a good understanding of defenses and what he's supposed to do. You can tell he's been in the league for four years." Amendola is shaping up as Tom Brady's go-to-guy, giving him a very serious shot at 100 catches.

Maybe it's mere coincidence that this rumor began to be floated right after the Patriots inexplicably hired long-time Caste whore Mike Lombardi

NFL Trade Rumors: Danny Amendola to Baltimore Ravens?

by Larry Seely

Things change quickly in the NFL, just ask the 2013 Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens. The team went through several roster changes after winning the big game and it showed last season as the team missed the playoffs.

The loss of several starters from the defense was a concern entering last season, but the offensive production was the ultimate decider in how the team performed. General Manager Ozzie Newsome is now looking to add more talent on that side of the ball and it all could start with a trade.

The New England patriots have already lost interest in Danny Amendola and reports are the team could release the wide receiver next month. Baltimore showed some interest in the 28 year-old last year and could acquire the sure handed wide out with a trade before the upcoming NFL Draft.

The good news for the Ravens, i would likely take just a late round pick to add a proven, yet often injured player to the roster. Amendola has 250 receptions over his five year career and would give Joe Flacco a solid target and the team some much needed depth at the position.

With the Ravens looking to get back as the best team in the AFC North, making a deal for a player that could lead the team in receptions is a good move and despite injury concerns, Amendola is a terrific team player and a receiver that can make that clutch catch in crucial situations, something this team lacked in 2013.

The media is hell-bent on seeing Amendola traded away after one injury-plagued season. I don’t buy it, as New England would still have to take a hit (to pay him his guaranteed money) for several more years after trading him, they’d have to give up draft picks in a trade, and they’d have to pay his replacement…

Plenty of teams will consider making a run at Amendola. The New York Jets are the first team to pop up on the radar. The team has been looking to rebuild their wide receivers corps. They plan on releasing Santonio Holmes and had both Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper on their radar. However, both receivers re-signed to Philadelphia, leaving the Jets to look elsewhere. Amendola's contract does not work with the team's salary cap, but they could be in play.

The Indianapolis Colts are another team that would greatly welcome Amendola. The team has been keeping their eye on players like Eric Decker and Edelman. They might be interested in Amendola, but will be unwilling to give up draft picks for him considering the team is already short-handed in that area.

Other teams to consider would be the Oakland Raiders and the New York Giants. Both teams are in need of big playmakers to reform their offenses. The issue in all of this will come down to what exactly the Patriots would be asking in return for Amendola. The receiver will not garner a first-round pick so New England should be wise in considering his worth on the market.

If he is actually traded or cut, look for Edelman to be re-signed and hopefully Collie and TJ Moe to make the team in 2014.

I was reading an article about a slight controversy that arose when Danny Amendola was being interviewed on the radio for his charity. Instead of discussing the charity, the host of the show kept badgering him about his injury-riddled past, and Amendola hung up on the host, effectively ending the interview. After the article, a DWF wrote the following imbecilic, bigoted, highly-fallacious, typo-ridden drivel…

scoochpooch says:Jun 5, 2014 1:16 PM

Walker, Amendola, Edelman all system WRs. They wouldn’t even be in the league if not for Brady and subsuquent rules changes over last 10-20 years.

Is he referring “Walker, Texas Ranger?” Naturally, this post-lobotomy drunkard doesn’t consider how poorly successful black WR’s such as Randy Moss, Deion Branch, Jabar Gaffney, Rece Caldwell, David Patten, Terry Glenn, or Dante Stallworth fared after leaving New England. Would they too “not even be in the league if not for Brady?” Also, he fails to recall the fact that both Welker and Amendola had success in the league (Dolphins and Rams) prior to landing in NE.

They been saying that stuff for years. Welker started getting a little credit by some and then that bad pass he didn't hold onto in the Super Bowl happened and now people call him butterfingers. At least he tried, the Super Bowl moss was in, he had a deep pass thrown to him that could have won the game afte Eli's big comeback play, and he didn't even stick his arms up so the db swatted it. What's the point of being that tall if you aren't going to use it and let a 5 11 db stop it because you were going to let the ball hit you in the chest? Deion branch also dropped a pass after Welker, and it was like 4th down

btw, Welkers first 3 years he had the 2nd most all purpose yards in NFL history, behind Gale Sayers.

with Amendola, some think he has talent but yeah its alot of stuff criticizing saying he is injury prone and they make stupid jokes like he got injured trying to hang up the phone. If they would look at the injuries around the league right now before preseason it's mostly affletes that are injured. The few Whites tend to be at positions like te where they are probably playing well above their natural weight.

This "report" is total bs. How can Amendola earn Brady's "trust" when he's rarely been allowed on the field during the first two games of the season? And there's nothing in the article to back up the assertion that Brady doesn't trust Danny, just a convenient excuse. Amendola's inexplicably being phased out, wouldn't be surprising if he's waived at some point during the season.

Borges: Will Brady ever trust Danny Amendola?

The Patriots offense is in need of some weapons for Tom Brady to pass it to.

Before the 2013 season the Patriots thought they added a quality target in Danny Amendola.

Unfortunately the wideout hasn't been on the same page with his quarterback for most of his time in New England.

He was targeted five times in week one and just once in week two.

"When he was with St. Louis he was a go-to receiver for Sam Bradford," said Neumeier. "He caught 70-80 balls a year. He was injury prone but he was to the Rams then what Edelman is to the Patriots now. What's going on here with Danny Amendola."

"He showed flashes of production here, never mind St. Louis," argued Michael Felger. "he caught ten balls against Miami in December of last year. I remember the first game of the year against Buffalo when he toughed out the groin injury and had a big game."

Will Amendola ever earn Tom Brady's trust?

"I still believe Brady will throw to you if you're open," said Ron Borges. "But if he doesn't think you're going to get open, he looks a lot faster to somebody else."

It’s not just Amendola, the Patriot offense (aside from Edelman) has been floundering in general.

Predictably, former Panthers WR, Brandon LaFell (signed to a 3-year, $9 million dollar deal this off-season), hasn’t had a single catch through two games. Hopefully, he’ll go the way of other black free agent WR’s (Torry Holt, Joey Galloway, Grey Lewis, Mike Jenkins, Donald Jones, Chad Ochocinco, etc) who’ve signed with New England with great expectations, only to get cut early in the season or have little part in the game plan.

The injury-plagued 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] year WR, Aaron Dobson, returned last week and did nothing.

Kembrell Thompkins started on the outside against Miami and was so poor that he was designated a healthy scratch in Week #2.

Rob Gronkowski is easing his way back into playing shape, but clearly isn’t 100%.

The only RB who's been playing well in the passing game is Shane Vereen.

In Amendola’s case, the problem that I’ve noticed is playing time. Due to their suspect OL, New England has been running far fewer 3 WR sets, and therefore, Danny is barely on the field. A “snap count” of the WR’s from the game against Minnesota…

Julian Edelman -- 52 of 67
Brandon LaFell -- 38 of 67
Aaron Dobson -- 31 of 67
Danny Amendola -- 19 of 67

Another issue is that when Amedola is actually on the field and gets open, Brady doesn’t throw him the ball. Also, New England hasn’t thrown the ball as much as we’re accustomed to. Brady has only completed 43 passes thus far.

I predict that Danny will join Edelman and “get hot” in the coming weeks.

Here is a really nice highlight package of “Danny Playoffs” doing what he does best in yesterday’s AFC Title game. What a game for #80. Two 4th quarter TD catches, a 20-yard punt return to set up the final drive, a 4th down conversion in the 1st quarter, a 3rd-and-18 conversion in the 4th quarter, and he even threw a 20-yard pass on a gadget play. Amendola was an undrafted WR that was cut by two different NFL teams (Cowboys and Eagles) after an amazing career at Texas Tech...

After being widely considered a free agent “bust” in 2013 (he was signed to replace Wes Welker), he’s been the most clutch WR in the playoffs over the last 5 years. Edelman is a close 2nd.

Amendola is a classic example the caste system in action. He played well everywhere he's been. He even led the league in total yards one season. Yet no team wanted him but the Patriots.

Other teams didn't want him because he's a white man playing wide receiver, not because he couldn't play well. Many teams discriminate against white wide receivers.

Now the Patriots are reaping the benefits.

Edelman's, Wentz's and Sam Bradford's injuries this year have actually been very beneficial to exposing the Caste system as their White backups - Amendola, Foles and Keenum have proven to not only be more than qualified, but actually top shelf players in the NFL. Previous to these injuries, they all were considered mediocre players, at best, or even "bubble" NFL prospects, probably on their way out of the league. Well, no more.

Danny Amendola is a superstar football player. He is always right where he is needed.Yesterday he saved the game on third and eighteen first down catch, timely punt return with no wasted motion, two touchdown passes, one of which should be considered as best catch of the year.
No histrionics involved.Go Danny Playoff !!

I totally agree receivers like Amendola or a running back like Gerhart have been screwed over. Not so sure with QB's we have 4 black QB's at the moment Wilson, Newton, Wonston, taylor and Mariota who is an islander. I think that's it for starters ? But I think a white QB would be a preference for a lot of teams. Its a golden age for QB's imo so its harder than ever to be a starter. I do agree though that if you don't have the measurable s height/weight you are better of being black like Vick for example.

To Amendola he has to be one of the best back up receivers in the league if Edelman was fit its doubtfull he would be getting as many targets.

Danny Amendola's girlfriend Olivia Culpo is stunning. Absolutely beautiful woman. She has fantastic skin and a great body. Great makeup. And her femininity is a very attractive trait. Amendola should marry her. I'm very jealous of his life.

She seems very supportive of him and I’ve seen her embracing Amendola after big wins such as SB 49, SB 51, and the most recent AFC title game...

During last Sunday’s game, Amendola’s girlfriend was sitting with Brady’s wife (Giselle) in a suite at Gillette Staium. Giselle was also good friends with Wes Welker’s wife and the couples even vacationed together. Last off-season, Brady, Edelman and Amendola all worked out alone together at Brady’s property in rural Montana. It’s amazing to see the white-friendly organization the Pats have maintained over the past 10+ years (after Welker was signed in 2007).

If he is smart he will marry her. She has the looks to be an actress or continue modeling if she wanted to. They make a great couple. I like her big heart though. You can tell she loves him so much! Great to see. No wonder he scored 2 tds! Go Pats!
