Will Tebow be allowed to play in NFL?

The mantra about converting him to TE is ridiculous, and totally predictable. Why not move him to the most logical position- RB- if he "can't play" QB?

At any rate, it's good to see him signed by someone. I really thought he was through in the NFL. We'll see how the Patriots decide to utilize him.

Tebow being signed is good news! The Patriots have been one of the more successful and innovative organizations.

I speculate that he'll be used in short yardage and red zone situations. He might also be kept as a third string quarterback.

I've been having problems visiting this site. It's been very freeze-y/crash-y (while I haven't had any problems with any other site. I am on a mac). And very recently a warning popped up saying that this site very likely had a virus or something to that effect. Just FYI. Don't know if anyone else has had this problem. Soon as I heard about Tebow, around 5:00p.m. est. I checked all the ESPN channels and sure enough, the circus was underway. I could almost hear the ESPN execs calling all the pundits and telling them to get to the studio. The NFL network also interrupted its show to go bat sh!t crazy over the Tebow news.

It certainly sounds good (at 1st), but I'm not sure he'll get many reps at QB (sans pre-season) unless Brady is injured. I'd love to see him get some carries at RB or passes at TE. The Pats need to use him effectively.

I have been pretty outspoken and critical this offseason about the Patriots and what they have done. They had a coal black draft and made no attempt to resign either Woodhead or Welker. The only really pro-white move they made before today was getting Amendola.

The signing of Tebow could be a really good thing. It is ironic that McWigger may be the one who is going to revive and develop Tebow. The Patriots play the uptempo type offense that Tebow played in at Florida (except running the ball w/ QB). It sounds like Tebow has been working at refining his mechanics as well.

The best thing about New England is that it is a controlled environment. Tebow will be allowed to fly under the radar because he is overshadowed by Brady. He can learn from Brady.

As far as his immediate impact it would be great if they played him like they did his first year at Florida. He would be a great running back in goal line situations.

I can't imagine the Pats signing him without some sort of plan. He is not suited to be a conventional, drop-back passer, but can create problems for defenses that Brady cannot. Designed runs are a big part of Tebow's game. I hope the idea is to have him as a backup QB, but also have a package that plays to his strengths. Otherwise, why do it?

I get redirected to a porn site as well. I thought I had a virus but since several people have the same problem, I guess not.

They were suggesting that, unlike Tebow’s time in Denver and New York (where he played behind less-than-stellar starters in Orton and Sanchez), Brady won’t ever be “looking over his shoulder” as the fans and media clamor for Tebow to be inserted. Unless Brady retires, Tebow will never start at QB. However, Tebow could learn under Brady and perhaps instigate New England to trade the marajauna-puffing wigger QB, Ryan Mallett…

As for Tebow playing the role of a “power running back,” it would certainly help to quell the stinging loss of dynamic scat-back, Danny Woodhead. Given the preposterously-low interest in Tebow’s services (especially given the sea of media attention and ticket/merchandise sales such a signing would incur), I’d be happy if Tebow made the Patriots’ 53-man roster as Brady’s backup.

In other news, New England also re-signed the talented, yet injury prone LB, A.J. Edds. Edds started a few games for New England back in 2011.

Obviously, I agree with everyone that this is good news and probably Tebow's last chance in the NFL. I really thought he was going to be finished after his release from the Jets.

This thing could go 2 ways. The bad first. Tebow is signed to a 2 year deal with no guaranteed money which would make it very easy for New England to simply cut him before the season. So we should temper our enthusiasm til then. However, the good is that New England already cut 3rd string QB Mike Kafka so unless they elect to only go with 2 QBs, which some teams do, Tebow has no one blocking his roster spot. Also, what I see as the best case scenario is Tebow learning under Brady and replacing him when he retires. Brady will be 36 when the season starts, so he probably has somewhere in the 2-4 year range remaining. In this "perfect scenario", Tebow would outplay that odious wigger Mallet (thanks Thrashen for enlightening me on the "Dumb Thug") and Mallet would be traded to a team with a lousy negro QB and become the starter there.

Knowing how the NFL works, expecting the worst is probably the logical line of thought.

Sports media & the NFL won't collectively admit it, but they're happy too. Tebow is probably the most significant water cooler conversation of the past 2 or 3 seasons. It's down to the Stanley Cup & NBA Finals, and we were talking about Tebow last night @ work, so..
He's good for the game, & he's in capable hands in New England.. even if he's a backup QB that only takes a handful of snaps: I don't believe Belichick will waste this chance. He's the best coach of the past decade, he'll have Tim prepared as a back-up & put him in if/when they need that back-up..(?)

I wouldn't get too excited yet. I think this is more Bill Belichick wanting to show how much of a genius he is by utilizing a guy the rest of the league (and media) thinks is crap. It's also a chance to put one to the Jets, yet again. If he can find a way to use him then maybe yes, this could be great for Tebow. If the Pats have a drop off due to loss of Welker and Woodhead, and injuries to Gronk, then pressure will be put on Belichick to go back to basics.

Great chance for Tebow though, no one else was wanting to take a chance and he ends up with a good team.

I think the loss of Woodhead, Welker and injuries to Gronk influenced this. I think he realized during practice the offense might have some trouble moving the ball. Brady is great but if his receivers can't catch the ball and run the right routes and get open then they will struggle. Hopefully Amendola will stay healthy as well as Edelman. Tebow adds a package, probably the same one McDaniels ran with him at Denver, where he rushed for 6 tds.

As far as Mallet, I see no reason to not root for him. If we are going to not root for wiggers, or those who have wiggerish tendencies then that would cut the amount of White players to root for by a larger number than you think. You have to remember this guy is just getting out of college, and had black culture being shoved down his throat as being cool all his life. Black culture is promoted as "tough". When have Whites been portrayed as being macho recently? besides those brain dead guys on Jersey Shore? Its not a surprise that some kids wind up wanting to imitate blacks (who ironically are trying to imitate the old White gangsters of way back in the day). Not everyone is racially aware and wiggers imo are no different than dwfs, they both take things to the extreme, however there is still hope imo.

The rumor is Mallet had trouble with cocaine, the same as Matt Jones. I am guessing it must be pretty acceptable on campus there, although Adderall has been the new rage, which is prescription amphetamine, a lot of NFL players have been getting busted with this in their system and it isn't seen as big of a deal but its not much different. Even though its prescribed, its over-prescribed and sold in large quantities on the street.

I will root for him, they probably will wind up trading him for a good deal. Mallet could be starting right now if he was on another team imo, and doing quite well.

edit: I totally forgot about Blount. Tebow is just as fast as Blount and quicker. Blount was a talented runner, just not a talented running back, as in pass blocking and receiving, and the dude was lazy/poor work ethic. Bellicheck might have thought he could change the guy, an optimistic line of thinking is that Blount isn't working out and Tebow could fill the role they had in mind for Blount. I mean Ridley isn't that impressive, he isn't a power back 2 yard gain, 2 yard gain, wide open hole - 20 yards amazing. I always hated seeing that when Woodhead was there because he would have gotten a much bigger chunk had he been in on those plays.

There's really a ton of roles that Tebow could fill which why it make sense that the Patriots picked him up. If only other teams had this line of thinking.

I have to route for Mallet. I think he was at one time a young dumb kid but under the tutelage of Brady and Bellicheck he has grown up and matured. By all accounts he seems to have become a student of the game and takes his job seriously.

Perhaps the Pats will end up trading Mallet after this season and letting Tebow become Brady's backup after he learns the system and continues to develop as a QB. Once Brady retires Tebow could become his heir apparent(although I believe he can be successful now). This kind of reminds me of what happened with Montana/Young albeit Montana went on to have success with KC.

Tebow is already the best running back on the Pats - it will be interesting to see if Bellichek recognizes that. He is just as powerful as Blount and is not fumble prone like the other RBs. I would love to see Tebow run for 10+ TDs this year.

The fact Tebow is in the league is also great because he takes away some of the spotlight from the black quarterbacks.

The Colts just signed Ahmad Bradshaw to go with Vick Ballard, who ran for over 800 yards as a rookie, so they won't have any interest in Hillis. I think he'll remain unsigned unless a team is devastated by injuries at RB, which is very possible. Every day he should be cursing his black former agent who advised him to sit out a game with strep throat. That instantly ruined his image and his NFL career, but Peyton also should have been reading this site before he got his opportunity to shine in 2010.

Very happy for Tebow, New England is the best team for him to be on.

I didn't hear about Tim Tebow being picked up by the Patriots until Wednesday morning, and I just watched the Belichick press conference earlier tonight. It will be interesting to see what happens with Tebow, although I must admit that at this point it is hard to be optimistic about his chances of getting a real opportunity.
