watching ND-Navy and here's what announcers said about Ballard:
"he's probably the only real NFL prospect on this navy team, he has everything you can sk of: strength, speed, great blocker and can obviusly carry the rock"
they were raving about him a lot!

good to hear some praise for our guys

Once again, Vandy's Jared Hawkins is being under-utilized, even with a huge lead. He has 5 runs for 27 yards. His Duke counterpart, Justin Boyle, has 10 runs for 51 yards and a TD with a quarter left. Navy's Adam Ballard had 9 runs for 35 yards and a 6 yard catch against Notre Dame.

Jared got no more carries, but Justin Boyle exploded in the 4th and ended up with 107 yards and 4 TDs on 13 carries! He also had an 11 yard catch.

New Hampshire's RB Chad Kackert had 28 runs for 65 yards.

Rhode Island won ugly against Maine, and Joe Casey had 22 carries for 66 yards, and Jimmy Hughes had 6 for 42.

More later.

nah, you're not bad to think so... i mean Leonard should by all right and his talent get at least 50% of the carries! so it's only fair to hope that he will get some!

as mentioned by Colonel Reb above, Duke's Justin Boyle scored a record-setting 4 TD runs against Vandy on Saturday.

Joe Casey had 5 runs for 18 yards before getting hurt in the 1st quarter of the Rhode Island win over Hofstra. Jimmy Hughes had 8 carries for 30 yards and his first TD of the season.

Jared Hawkins had just one run, a 35 yarder today, meanwhile the other two black backs had a combined 22 carries for a whopping 58 yards. Vandy might have won the game if Hawkins had been in there more, because those averages are rough. The way they have ignored Jared, they deserve to lose.

FB Brannan Southerland had 5 carries for 8 yards and a TD.

Justin Boyle had 15 runs for 86 yards and 2 catches for 16 yards.

Adam Ballard had 27 runs for 104 yards and 2 TDs.

Scott Chandler had 2 catches for 18 yards and Andy Brodell had a 14 yard catch.

Northwestern's Ross Lane had 4 catches for 43 yards, while team-mates Andrew Brewer had 1-49 yard catch and Eric Peterman had 3 catches for 34 yards and a TD.

Ole Miss' TE Robert Lane had 2 catches for 29 yards. Not quite the increase that Coach uh-O said would happen this week, but I didn't expect anything from his mouth would come true.

That would have been a game to watch between Navy and Duke with two star white running backs on both teams. When is the last time we saw that?Adam Ballard is just a beast. He has NFL Potential without a doubt. Why do I have the feeling though that he will dissapear as quickly as Kyle Eckel did.I hope I'm wrong. We need some more Alstott types and hopefully some NFL Team will give a white Bettis type a chance to be the star running back.

Jayson Bird had 1 measly carry today and an 8 yard catch. TE Luke Smith-Anderson had 2 catches for 21 yards. They got beat by another team that starred two white RBs, Luke Lippincott, who had 19 runs for 93 yards and 2 TDs, and Mike Kanellis, who had 9 runs for 66 yards.

North Dakota State's Kyle Steffes had 111 yards and a score on 23 carries, plus he threw a 6 yard completion.
Team-mate Tyler Roehl had 4 carries for 7 yards.

Toby Gerhart had 6 runs for 5 yards against USC, plus 2 catches for 16 yards.

Chane Moline has 8 runs for 26 yards and a TD.

I'm almost positive that Peyton Hillis had a couple of carries but I don't see them listed. He had 2 catches for 18 yards though. Edited by: Colonel_Reb

I mean its so freaking obviously that Hester is the best RB on the team. Yet he is regulated to mop up carries and paving the way for the supposed better(darker) RBs. If I was Hester I would be bitching my ass off to the media how I should be getting more touches and just back it up with the stats. Les Miles would be forced to recognize that he's not doing his job of playing the best guys at the best postiion.

after Vanderbilt's Jared Hawkins had just one carry on Saturday against Florida there was considerable anger about it on the Vandy message boards. oh, did i mention Hawk's carry went for 40 yards? awesome!
smiley32.gif

here's the link to the discussion. some of the comments are ridiculous in the face of overwhelming factual evidence.

for the year, Hawkins now has 32 carries for 267 yards (8.3ypc) and 3 TDs. amazing! yet he barely gets to touch the ball...

he's been talked about a little bit, but Kansas true freshman Jake Sharp is having a solid first year. he has 129 yards on 21 carries for a 6.1 per carry average. not bad.

also, in their disappointing loss to Kansas last week, Iowa State fullback Ryan Kock had 6 carries for 31 yards and a touchdown.

Hey Jimmy, Meyer is killing Todd Blythe right now..funny he doesn't get the convienent excuse Calvin Johnson gets when Reggie Ball is throwing him the ball. I hope Blythe can bounce back the rest of the year and have a solid senior campaign.

Blythe's talent is unsurpassed in college football. there might be a bare handful of receivers nationwide who are on par with him, and i say might.

you are spot on about the Meyer/Ball comparison. the whole double standard thing is a joke! calvin johnson is good, but there's no way he's even a little bit better than Blythe or the Shark. no way.

unless of course, Eric Weddle is the best cover corner in the history of college football, that is.
