Owen Schmitt is the next victim.

Seahawks waived FB Owen Schmitt.
<div ="s_pNewsTextMain">
Seattle won't go with a true lead blocker this year, opting instead for
Quinton Ganther and special teamer Michael Robinson. Ganther, starter
Justin Forsett, and KR/PR Leon Washington are the ball carriers left
standing.

How the f-ck is White practice squad material? He absolutely blew up for 132 receiving yards in the last preseason game. Check out his Pro Day numbers

- PRO DAY RESULTS: One of the most impressively athletic receivers at
the NFL Scouting Combine was Michigan State's Blair White. He backed up
that outstanding performance with another eye-opening workout at the
Spartans' pro day on March 17. White (6-foot-2 1/8, 205 pounds) ran the
40-yard dash in 4.42 and 4.46 seconds, had a 35 1/2-inch vertical jump, a
10-foot broad jump and did position drills. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

I thought the NFL is looking for guys with 4.4 speed.

I think you meant to type this:

It seems as if we are reduced to cheering for white men to make practice squads year after year.

How much lower can the % of white men in the NFL go before enough people sober up and start to look elsewhere to spend their time and entertainment $?

VSCF, I know I'll not be watching much NFL this year...just monitoring stats/performance of certain White players.

i often wonder why the NFL even has a preseason ... i mean, it's obvious that they aren't the least bit interested in taking into account the oft-dominant performances of the White players who see the field.

Here's some optimism for you guys in the midst of all this negative energy: We did have some positive surprises with our final roster decisions yesterday (I just had my team lead hours drastically cut back at my job to save money- as they want me to put time in again at entry level work. Therefore, I was very negative yesterday. I might be looking for a government pension job soon- before I grow old). Charly Martin making the Panthers was something that I wasn't expecting. Also, the Texans keeping three white wideouts was more than I expected in this National Farce League. As expected, the Texans kept David Anderson and Kevin Walter, but they also surprisingly kept Trey Stross, who seemed like he'd make a team as a 6th WR at best to me- even without the caste system- he must have had a great pre-season or shown special team potential! The Jets kept Danny Woodhead over Chauncy Washington. Washington performed on a very similar level to Woodhead this pre-season- and got fawned over, but the Jets recognized Woodhead's dominance last preseason and Woodhead's freakish measurables and his upside.

The NFL continues to shun white guys with freak athleticism though. Tim Toone had a GREAT pre-season and ran in the 4.4 range at his Pro Day and looked VERY EXPLOSIVE, but he was unfairly cut in favour of Stefan Logan for Detroit. Hopefully, "Mr. Irrelevant", will AT LEAST get a chance on a team's practice squad.

Another shunning of a freak athlete, was the Bengals keeping Quan Cosby over Matt Jones. This was a real caste move, but I almost expected this. Cosby was teammates with Shipley at Texas as well, which helped his cause.

The Eagles cutting Chad Hall for Hank Baskett was a cultural Marxist "Playboy" move, but Hall was signed to their practice squad- so he may have a chance to make an NFL roster- with luck- in a couple years!

Blacksonville, cut John Matthews who looks like he could be a solid WR in the NFL and also cut Chad Kackert. Kackert may very well be of more value to Blacksonville than Deji Karim or FB Montell Owens, but at least Black Jack Del Rio kept Brock Bolen as a FB and he can be used as a power runner.

I hoped Atlanta would find room for either Troy Bergeron or Ryan Wolfe- over the under-performing Michael Jenkins, but they weren't ready to pay the price of cutting Jenkins high salary yet. Also, they weren't ready to give up on Harry Douglas- who was a third round pick last year if I recall my research and I haven't done a lot of scouting on him to know if this was a legit decision.

Indianapolis cutting Blair White was a big disappointment considering his great college resume and dominant pre-season, but he was signed to the practice squad- and I think he should stick with the Colts "for now" since they only have 4 WRs- and are one of the most white friendly teams in the league.

Kevin Curtis and Jake Sharp not getting a sniff of interest this off-season- was nauseating- and a sure sign the caste system is alive and well, but overall I think we are seeing a definite improvement for white "offensive skill players". Tomorrow, I'll try to get a better tally of the increase of white WRs and RBs from this year to last. Last year there were only 16 WRs on rosters at season's opening, but it looks to be a very noticeable increase for the start of this season. Things are looking horrible for white CBs and safeties- and we may be losing ground at o-line as well. However, it looks like things are improving a bit at LB and of course WR and RB! Keep your heads up guys! Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

Yep, I put 'em on waivers last year, and it looks like I will not reclaim the rights this year. If the league doesn't have a place for great players like Mike Hass, then I don't have the time or the interest in watching their games for several hours on each Sunday. Perhaps I'll check in on a few players and see if Cleveland is going to really run Hillis, etc., but that's about it. Instead, I'm gonna check out the UFL and see how it goes. Hass might even get on the field there. We'll see. In the mean time, I'm gonna be following the Griz and watching the local WHL hockey team. Went to several games last year, and the games were fun to watch. A lot better then watching the boring NFL games with the caste speak--"upside, high motor, blah, blah, blah"--constant drops, the whining and showboating from the twidiots, etc. Oh yeah, Calgary is playing Edmonton on the NFL channel on Friday night. Might check out some CFL games this year too. Dave Dickensen is a coach with the Stampeders.

Here is a comment from some DWF on Tim Toone.

<div id="comment__45941975" ="c">

Quite frankly, given what little he showed during the
preseason, it would have spelled "doom"Â￾ for the Lions if he ended up
being one of their 53 best "¦

Good luck Mr Irrelevant elsewhere "¦

I'm sure this idiot was actually paying attention during the preseason to know what was going on. He was too busy stuffing his face with salted snacks and drinking his beer. Idiot!

The ranks of white linebacker/special team warriors is getting a little stronger with Nixon to Texans, Bailey and Shaw to Titans, Carpenter to Dolphins, and Havner to Lions (where he will be listed as a linebacker according to rotoworld report). Also, guys like Kotovides at Tampa Bay, Senn at Carolina, Mccoy at Seattle, Vobora and Chamberlain at St Louis survived the cuts.

Overall, I'd say this year has been noticeably better (when looking at the final cuts) for white WRs, our VERY FEW RBs- and also LBs, but we look to be losing a little ground at OL and safety. Ittersagen getting cut was a huge disappointment- as other than Steve Gregory- Ittersagen seems to be the only white guy in the last two years whose gotten a little consideration to play CB.

I looked at Toone's stats- and he actually wasn't used much this preseason as a receiver and only did solid on returns. I was mistaken on Toone having an amazing return, it was Marc Mariani and Chad Hall who had huge returns and looked EXTREMELY explosive all pre-season.

Toone is a great athlete though- and I was hoping he would get more of a chance than the Lions gave him, but at least he's on the practice squad and may yet get a chance elsewhere or next year!

I expect an uptick in starting White safeties this season. The much maligned (by the DWFs) Sean Considine will be starting in Jacksonville. Also Zbikowski in Baltimore, possibly Steltz in Chicago, McGraw in KC, Leonhard and maybe Smith for the Jets, Weddle and maybe Gregory in San Diego, Dahl in St. Louis, and probably Doughty in Washington. That's ten, though only Leonhard and Weddle are secure. But it is a slight uptick, along with WR and possibly RB in 2010.

Matt Leinart was signed by the Texans. It does seem alot more of our guys made teams even if they were cut. It was nice to see Parcells show loyalty and belief in Bobby Carpenter, Tim Shaw and Patrick Bailey both found new homes in Tennessee as well. I have been out of town for the past few days so I could not contribute as much as I wanted.

I worry many of those guys will be riding the pine again soon though. Safety is one of the easiest positions for DWFs to wrongly evaluate (or have their opinions crafted for them by sites like Wienieworld). Basically, a white safety isn't safe until he gets a reputation as good as Jim Leonhard or John Lynch in his prime. DWFs blame the white Safety who makes a saving tackle for getting beat on a play- when usually it was someone else who got beat- like a CB, who he was cleaning up after.

Adam Archuletta was a SOLID starting safety for a while whom- more due to a Herculean type workout regiment- than pure born talent- got his speed down into the mid 4.4s, but he had a little trouble with tackling when he had a broken arm a couple years back in Chicago. AA now appears to be out of the league for good, and he is still much maligned in Chicago I'm sure as a "tight hipped" white DB. Stuart Schweigert (sp?) was another tackling machine when he started for Oakland who got the brunt of rage of DWFs who somehow thought that tackling=bad. Schweigert had near world class speed and had a strong track background. Schweigert IS one guy- who could bite bad on a fake and still recover to make the tackle- due to his blaze the track speed. From what I've read here though (and from one fair minded journalist's view), he was often unfairly attacked by the media and DWFs in Oakland- for errors that weren't his fault- simply because he made a tackle lol. Matt Giordano is another white safety with near world class speed, who was often unfairly attacked in his very limited opportunities.

The Bucs kept three white safeties (Grimm, Lynch, and Pistcatelli).

The Browns kept two (Ventrone and Sorenson).

The Jets kept two (Leonhard and Smith).

The Chargers kept two (Weddle and Gregory).

The Titans kept two (Nickey and Schrommer).

With any luck, injuries will force coaches to play these "backups."Â￾

I think John Wendling will see some action for the Lions too. Their secondary is just too bad not to need him out there eventually.

Yeah, I just listed the teams with multiple white safeties.

There is also Wendling, Steltz, Reis, Zbikowski, Considine, McGraw, Doughty, Dahl, Shillinger, etc. Of these, Wendling may be the most athletic.

Last season, Jim Leonhard was already considered one of the best safeties in the NFL. Hopefully this season he will utterly force the media and DWFs to consider him to be "the best."Â￾

Leonhard was considered too slow and too small to be successful in the NFL but what white player hasn't had those stereotypes linked to them. The only thing that pisses me off is Brodney pool starting over Eric Smith at strong safety. I was hoping the Jets would have two starting white safeties.

Seahawks released DT Craig Terrill.

Terrill chipped in as a rotational defender and special teamer the past few seasons. He's losing out as the new coaching staff continues its roster turnover in full rebuilding mode. The 30-year-old should draw interest from teams with 4-3 schemes.
