Here's some optimism for you guys in the midst of all this negative energy: We did have some positive surprises with our final roster decisions yesterday (I just had my team lead hours drastically cut back at my job to save money- as they want me to put time in again at entry level work. Therefore, I was very negative yesterday. I might be looking for a government pension job soon- before I grow old). Charly Martin making the Panthers was something that I wasn't expecting. Also, the Texans keeping three white wideouts was more than I expected in this National Farce League. As expected, the Texans kept David Anderson and Kevin Walter, but they also surprisingly kept Trey Stross, who seemed like he'd make a team as a 6th WR at best to me- even without the caste system- he must have had a great pre-season or shown special team potential! The Jets kept Danny Woodhead over Chauncy Washington. Washington performed on a very similar level to Woodhead this pre-season- and got fawned over, but the Jets recognized Woodhead's dominance last preseason and Woodhead's freakish measurables and his upside.
The NFL continues to shun white guys with freak athleticism though. Tim Toone had a GREAT pre-season and ran in the 4.4 range at his Pro Day and looked VERY EXPLOSIVE, but he was unfairly cut in favour of Stefan Logan for Detroit. Hopefully, "Mr. Irrelevant", will AT LEAST get a chance on a team's practice squad.
Another shunning of a freak athlete, was the Bengals keeping Quan Cosby over Matt Jones. This was a real caste move, but I almost expected this. Cosby was teammates with Shipley at Texas as well, which helped his cause.
The Eagles cutting Chad Hall for Hank Baskett was a cultural Marxist "Playboy" move, but Hall was signed to their practice squad- so he may have a chance to make an NFL roster- with luck- in a couple years!
Blacksonville, cut John Matthews who looks like he could be a solid WR in the NFL and also cut Chad Kackert. Kackert may very well be of more value to Blacksonville than Deji Karim or FB Montell Owens, but at least Black Jack Del Rio kept Brock Bolen as a FB and he can be used as a power runner.
I hoped Atlanta would find room for either Troy Bergeron or Ryan Wolfe- over the under-performing Michael Jenkins, but they weren't ready to pay the price of cutting Jenkins high salary yet. Also, they weren't ready to give up on Harry Douglas- who was a third round pick last year if I recall my research and I haven't done a lot of scouting on him to know if this was a legit decision.
Indianapolis cutting Blair White was a big disappointment considering his great college resume and dominant pre-season, but he was signed to the practice squad- and I think he should stick with the Colts "for now" since they only have 4 WRs- and are one of the most white friendly teams in the league.
Kevin Curtis and Jake Sharp not getting a sniff of interest this off-season- was nauseating- and a sure sign the caste system is alive and well, but overall I think we are seeing a definite improvement for white "offensive skill players". Tomorrow, I'll try to get a better tally of the increase of white WRs and RBs from this year to last. Last year there were only 16 WRs on rosters at season's opening, but it looks to be a very noticeable increase for the start of this season. Things are looking horrible for white CBs and safeties- and we may be losing ground at o-line as well. However, it looks like things are improving a bit at LB and of course WR and RB! Keep your heads up guys! Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins
