Some of my favorites in a few groups...
"Older":
-Kelly's Heroes
-The Great Escape
-Stalag 17
-Dirty Dozen
-A Bridge Too Far
(My dad absolutely raised me on old war movies!)
-Some Like It Hot
Sports:
-Bull Durham
-Field of Dreams
-Invincible (White WR wins!!!)
-Miracle
"Newer":
-The Dark Knight
-300
-Forrest Gump
-Se7en
-Tropic Thunder (Really funny.)
-Fight Club
Fight Club is a movie I like ideolgically as much as I do for it's action, etc. It is about masculine identity and the debasing of "male culture" through commercialism. It's mostly white men involved as well, making it easier to relate to for me. I love it's message, though I doubt most viewers saw it for that. Brad Pitt can be a very intellectual presence on the screen in his own way if the role calls for it.
