I think alot of fans will forgive him he seems a person more rated by fans than the media who call him a product of a system and other rubbish. She refers to Welker as "diminutive", and dosent make the obvious connection that Wes wasnt drafted because he is White. Still, in the end she says he will be in the HOF. He now has more receptions than any undrafted player in history.

Also notice how she points out that Fitzgerald couldnt make his grades in High School. (Which means if he was White he never woulda played High School ball. White boys have to pass in order to play.)

I attribute Welker's "decline" to Denver's (and more specifically, Elway's) management practices.

Welker's numbers have declined for the last couple of years, which not so surprisingly started when he was traded from the Patriots to the Broncos.

In other words, a new team, with a different offensive philosophy does not necessarily mean his is declining. It means that Welker has gone from playing a primary target for Brady, to just another "slot" guy for Manning.

Welker's numbers should also be considered within the context of the atrocious, under-use of Wes in terms of play calling by coach Fox (hello Tim Tebow), along with the melanin- challenged overhaul of the Broncos roster.

Welker’s first career concussion occurred in a game against the Titans in Week #11 of the 2013 season.

His second concussion occurred three weeks later (Week #14) in the 2013 season.

His third concussion occurred 10 months later in a 2014 pre-season game against the Texans.

While in New England, he never sustained a documented head injury of any kind. As you mentioned, every single DWF commentator beneath every article written about Welker since the season ended is pleading with him to retire “while he can still remember his name,â€￾ among other idiocy. Welkers situation these last couple years has been disappointing to say the least. The man was on pace to rewrite several parts of the record books. He was in a situation most White WRs could only ever dream about. He played in those super bowls where they lost by one in a million fluke plays. In one of them he had like 13 catches, and would have been super bowl MVP had they won. The DWFs even liked him.....

Welker is a former pro bowler and has had multiple seasons with over 100 catches. He is also a good punt returner.

Welker is still available in free agency. Even at the age of 34 Welker could help a team as a slot receiver and punt returner.

In my opinion, there’s absolutely no chance that Welker ever suits up for New England again. Firstly, the Patriots are stocked with flankers (the “Z†position) and slot WR’s (the “H†position), and Welker doesn’t play at split end WR (the “X†position).

Edelman (“Zâ€), Amendola (“Hâ€), and Brandon LaFell (“Xâ€) are the clear-cut starters heading into the 2015 opener.

Brandon Gibson was signed this offseason, likely as Edelman’s backup.

Brian Tyms and former 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] round bust, Aaron Dobson, are likely LaFell’s backups.

Former 4[SUP]th[/SUP] round bust, Josh Boyce, will likely compete with white rookie, Zach D’Orazio, to be Amendola’s backup.

Though I’d love to see him on the team, I don’t believe that Welker would fit on this squad…and even if he did, he’d only be stealing snaps/catches from Edelman, Amendola, Gronk, and Chandler.

Also, Welker’s feud with Bill Belichick is another reason he’ll never be brought back. The Rex Ryan foot-fetish incident, two off-seasons of lengthy contract disputes, the Talib WR-screen incident, Welker talking bad about Belichick after joining the Broncos, etc.

I think Welker will play this year. He's probably asking for more money and/or more years than teams are willing to offer.

He'll probably end up signing a low end contract, maybe for close to the minimum.

Wes still has no interest, but the recent injury to Kelvin Benjamin could spur the Panthers to sign the veteran...

The Panthers will first look at internal options to replace Benjamin. Rookie Devin Funchess who was drafted in the second round this year is the best candidate, but the Charlotte Observer is reporting he is out for a few days with a hamstring strain. Outside of the rookie, the Panthers have Ted Ginn Jr, Jarrett Boykin and Jerricho Cotchery. While they are quality options, the Panthers will likely be forced to sign someone off the free agent market which has a few marquee names sitting around.

According to Dan Hanzus of NFL.com, the best option for Carolina could be Wes Welker who is healthy and waiting on a deal. He put up a career-low 9.5 yards per catch last season with the Denver Broncos, but is one of the most productive slot receivers in the league. If the Panthers need someone he is the best option and would sign a cheap contract. Reggie Wayne would do the same as he sits available. Wayne told ESPN that he wants to play one more season and preferably sign with a contending team. The Panthers fit that bill.

Wes Welker signed with the Rams today. It's about time someone signed him. He should've been signed by someone a long time ago.

Welker has about 110 receptions to reach 1000. If given any kind of fair opportunity he'll do it.
