Excellent analysis by dwid.

I think Welker would help any team in the league if utilized properly. Of course that doesn't mean every team would do so.

Welker was under-utilized as a receiver his first two years in the league. This was due to the caste system. That cost him at least 100 receptions.

One way to play would be to make the shortest route the first read and then slower developing routes the second and third reads. It would often be Welker running the shortest routes. You could get rid of any prima donna outside receiver who didn't like it.

Welker has 5 seasons of over 110 receptions. No other player has ever done that. He's had two seasons of over 120 receptions. He has 5 seasons of over 1100 yards. He's an elite player.

The Patriots will probably slap a franchise tag on him and look for his replacement in the draft. If he becomes a free against he'd be worth at least 12 million a year. If I were a GM I'd offer him a 4 year deal worth 48 million and I'd go even higher.

To anyone who thinks that would be too high I'd argue that, however he did it, Welker produced big on the field. In the end that's what counts.

What the Patriots decide to do with Wes Welker and Danny Woodhead is the most intriguing question of the upcoming free agent signing period. This article quotes five "experts" on Welker. Predictably, Caste clowns Casserly and Jeremiah are negative.

Charley “Leatherface” Casserly, the elderly, pencil-necked, Africa-flavored little fan-girl, can never seem to curtail his buffoonish, anti-white commentary…

CAPTION: Casteon Cuckhold, Chuck Casserly

A fact that’s been tossed into the Casteon Memory Hole is that Welker would have lead the NFL in total receptions, total yards, yards per game, and first downs in 2011 if not for an 11-catch, 250-yard game by Calvin Johnson in Week 17. In 2012, the Franchise Tag made Welker the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] highest paid receiver after Larry Fitzgerald, Vincent Jackson, and Brandon Marshall. Of course, with the offensive genius, Bill O’ Brien (perhaps the most white-friendly NFL coach in 30+ years), gone to Penn State and the Little-Joshy-Wigger leading the offense (and effectively benching Wes for 2-3 weeks until realizing that Brady is average without him), Welker’s numbers dipped slightly in 2013 but was still far-and-away New England’s best overall football player. I think Welker will either resign a 2-3 year deal (and the Patriots will not re-sign Talib) or he’ll again take the franchise tag, which will be $11 million in 2013. Most “experts” in the Boston area seem to think Welker will certainly return next season.

Despite being New England’s most talented back, I believe that Woodhead will resign a “team-friendly” contract, probably in the range of $900,000 - $1,000,000 per year.

Julian Edelman is also a free agent. With Deion Branch likely to retire, Welker’s future in doubt, and Matthew Slater not much of a returner or receiver, one would imagine that the Patriots would re-sign Edelman (who really came on as a WR and return man in 2012) for a low-money contract. Given his supernatural ability to injure himself at the worst possible time each season, I’d give it a 70% chance he returns.

With any luck, the Patriots will also re-sign RT Sebastian Vollmer…if not, sumo backup, Marcus Cannon, may sully one of the NFL’s precious few all-white offensive lines.

Other white Patriots that could be lost via free agency are DE Trevor Scott and WSTD Niko Koutouvides.

Wes Welker is a Bronco!

I just heard. I'm sure he'll do well with Peyton. Brady OTOH can't be too happy about this after he just re-signed for less money in hopes that it would spread around to give the Pats as good a chance as possible of winning another SB.

Given some of the poor, even humiliating (remember the Jets punishment incident a few years ago?) treatment Welker received from Belichick I don't blame him for not being happy. I think the Pats will regret this. Good luck to Wes in Denver!

The Broncos signed Welker for far less than he was worth. A lot of teams made a mistake by not offering him more.

White players are undervalued. Teams can help themselves by taking advantage of this fact and signing more white players.

The Patriots are going to be sorry they let Welker walk and the Broncos are going to be very happy they signed him. Welker is one of the best receivers in football!

The things I post are clearly not obvious to millions of white football fans. Nor are they obvious to NFL teams. They are also not obvious to many people who may come to this site.

Hopefully Amendola stays healthy and has a nice year. If he manages to play a full year he's a thousand yard receiver.

Welker won't be the same in Denver. His numbers will drop, how much remains to be seen.

I think Amendola will go over 1000 yards if he stays healthy. One year he led the league in all purpose yardage. Yet another great white player!

Welkers numbers will probably go down. He'll be playing with two good receivers in Decker and Thomas and Manning spreads the ball around.

I still think he'll put up excellent numbers. He'll probably lead the Broncos in receiving.

I think Welker is a great player. I think that he'll prove in Denver that it wasn't just the system that made him successful.

First the DWF's and media claimed it was Moss that made Welker successful. Then we he proved the doubters wrong it was the system. Still think he gets 1,000 yards on the season.

The policy of the leftists is to never give a white person credit for anything. The case of Wes Welker is an example of this.

Welker has accomplished things as a receiver that no one else ever has. The leftists refuse to give him the credit he deserves. Instead they explain away his accomplishments with weak arguments.

Give me a choice between drafting a 22 year old Wes Welker and a 22 year old Randy Moss and I take Welker, hands down.

Welker redefined the slot position. Before him nobody was running 3 and 4 receiver sets for the majority of the game, now pretty much every team runs 3 and 4 receiver sets for a good deal of the game. Nobody has been able to replicate what Welker does as a receiver though.

I agree with you guys. Give me Welker over any other receiver in the nfl. He is more productive, a team leader and he stays healthy year after year. He takes huge hits but just shakes them off. I love Nelson, Decker and many others but they need to learn how to stay on the field. That is how you make a pro bowl.

It's sad Welkers time in New England ended but he went to the perfect team. The future could bring Welker a superbowl ring. He deserves it!

Wes Welker is opening up a sports bar and grill in North Oklahoma City later on this month. I'll probably be rolling through there around opening day, I'll give the proper caste football review on food and decor.....

From Peter King's latest column:

In Praise of Wes Welker Dept.:

Receptions by Wes Welker over the past six seasons: 672.

Receptions by Jerry Rice over the most productive six-year period of his career: 604 (from 1991 to ’96).

That’s right: Welker’s last six years, in total, produced 68 more catches than the best six-year run of Rice’s great career.

“Wow,†Welker said in Denver the other day when he heard the stat. “That’s unbelievable. I mean, holy crap.â€

Then Welker said: “I just hope I can be as productive as Jerry was at the end of his career.â€

Well, let’s run the numbers. Rice was 33 years and 3 months old when he finished that 604-catch run. Welker was 31 years and 8 months old when he played his last regular-season game for New England and finished his six-year roll.

Rice caught 499 passes over the remainder of his career, playing until he was 42. To think Welker couldn’t have at least two vintage seasons playing with Peyton Manning in the slot (Manning has made slot receivers wealthy and vital in his career), and then play two or three more years after this contract expires … let’s just say I wouldn’t put it past him to catch 500 more balls before he retires. He played in 93 of 96 regular-season games in New England and enters this season healthy.

In my opinion Welker is a great player. In his best six years he averaged over ten more catches per year than Jerry Rice during his best six years. Welker has elite quickness and agility.

The reason, of course, Welker doesn't get the credit he deserves is that he's white. If he wasn't white the sports media would be raving about him.

It'll be interesting to see how Welker does in Denver. I predict that Welker will be successful with the Broncos and prove his detractors wrong.

Welkers pretty much the quickest, hardest to cover WR in the NFL. He gets open constantly based on just how lightning quick he is. Of course the media ALWAYS has to give us other reasons for him being open all the time.

Ive never heard a media whore point out that Jerry Rice played alongside great teammates, and had maybe the best two QBs of all time throwing to him. Ive never heard his success attributed to "the system he played in".

I remember the first football game I ever actually got into. It was the Super Bowl where the 49er beat Denver 55-10. My dad explained the rules to me as the game progressed, and Ive been hooked ever since.

All my personal football life Ive heard how Jerry Rice is unique in his greatness. How hes "the greatest WR ever". Ive never heard anyone take any credit away from him without getting shouted down.

Welker on the other hand is every bit as good, but there is always a reason other than sheer talent for his success. Thanks Don Wassall for sharing that little gem. That really shines a bright light on the biased medias coverage of things.

Welkers career numbers are amazing and they would be even better if not for the first couple of years before he got a legitimate chance to start and become the star that he is. The guy has don't it at every level. His athletecism is so underrated.

In my honest opinon, the best receiver in the nfl over the last six years. He does it year after year despite taking so many hits. A legend and In only hope we can see some more of our guys have half the career that Wes Welker has had so far. I expect him to pick up where he
left off this year. Barring injury, another 1000 yard season should be in the books!

It's also interesting to note that in the middle of this 6 year run, he blew out his knee. It hardly slowed him down. That used to be unprecedented.

Thats a magnificent point FootballDad. Before Adrian Petersons fawned over, superhuman recovery that Ive heard SO much about Wes Welker did the same thing. Of course Ive never heard any media whore worship Wes the way they get on their knees for AP.

And if the beloved "RG3" does the same miraculous recovery, it will further add to the negro superhuman "mystique", while similar recoveries by whites are ignored.

"Manning pointed out that putting the RB behind him makes it difficult for the defense to set their pressure call since the back can go either way. It also presents a run threat either way, something an offset back has trouble convincing a defense it can do. Don't be surprised if the Broncos get real creative with the package and you see a guy like Wes Welker behind the QB before the season is over."

Will we see Welker used in a more of a Brian Westbrook/Marshall Faulk role (well more receiving than running) like he should have been in his career. It would be the perfect scenario, not enough passes for 3 1k recievers? Have Wes get 1k from scrimmage, with about 700 yards receiving and 300 to 400 yards rushing. I mean he really could put up 1500. Ball hasn't proven himself. Moreno is a bust but is the only back that can pass protect.

Id say that would be too good to be true. Id love to see that, but I highly doubt it will happen. Welker was the best high school RB in Oklahoma history so we know he would shine from that position. I dont think Goodell would allow it though.

well, one things for sure, it will be good to see a White qb operate out of the pistol formation, even if it isn't zone read. People have the misconception that its just for option, but you can run anything out of it. Alabama uses it and their qb doesn't run.

The Chiefs are also using the pistol formation this year some. They have Chris Ault as their consultant for it.
