After looking at the Toby Gerhart forum, and the caste-breaking potential that he has, it's worth a hat tip to the job that Wes Welker has done to create interest in the "white slot receiver" in the NFL.  Being a copy-cat league (a CORE value that caste footballers need to remember), there are more and more teams looking for their very own Wes Welker, and, of course, a "Wes Welker" has to be WHITE, since that's how the genius recruiting folks compare everything.  So I hope that the trend continues, and that we finally get a STAR at number 2 receiver, so that the league geniuses need to find a white copy of that, then a white corner to copy and multiple white backs to copy........
The number of white WR's is slowly increasing, which is the most promising trend I've seen so far in recent NFL history. Again, I don't follow football that much, but things like this just bring the smile out of me. Let's hope that if Toby Gerhart manages to display breakthrough performances, it will spark a mini-rush/craze for white RB's!

It certainly is a copy-cat league. Green Bay GM Ted Thompson stated that he thought Brett Swain had the skills to have shot at becoming a "Wes Welker" type. Gil Brandt said 2010 NFL draft prospect WR Chris McGaha is comparable to "Jordy Nelson". And here's another uncreative comparison, this time on Toby Gerhart from NFLdraftscout's Chad Reuter:

Stanford's best player right now is running back Toby Gerhart, who is gaining notice as a Heisman contender. He is second in the FBS in rushing with 1,217 yards and in scoring with 100 points (16 touchdowns, two two-point conversions). Although considered a power back because he can lower his pads and run through defenders, Gerhart has an impressive next gear in the open field for a man his size. An exceptional athlete who eschewed minor league baseball to play this fall, Gerhart's combination of size, speed and hands are similar to that of former Rutgers back and 2007 second-round pick Brian Leonard.

That isn't going to help Gerhart, as Brian Leonard was scapegoated for a 3.5 YPC average on the Rams (while he ran the ball with 3 and 4 staring o-lineman out of the lineup in his 5 game stint as the starter). To top it off Bulger missed a game in that time as well. How is a mere ROOKIE supposed to do well playing behind an o-line that would probably make an all time list for the most injury decimated season in history? I thought Leonard did solid considering. Before the team's injuries had reached their maximum- Leonard had matched the injured Steven Jackson's 3.9 YPC from early in the season when I checked his production around mid season! I guess Leonard is the only back with good speed for his large size with good hands to compare to Gerhart?

Props to FootballDad...could not have said it any better!

The NFL is a copy-cat league...and Wes Welker's big-time sucess could ignite a "caucasian-invasion" of WR's! Decker, Shipley, Cooper, McGaha, Meier, Wolfe, etc....should all be selected in the 2010 Draft...and Welker was an undrafted-rookie free agent...

Last night, the coach of the UConnvicts Jim Calhoun, a real caste whore who hasn't had a white player on his team in ages actually compared his best player Jerome Dyson to Wes Welker . I thought I was having a hallucination. Calhoun said " Dyson makes plays on his own ,like Wes Welker. I'm a Patriots fan. Wes Welker makes plays".

For all of those who think Wes only gets his catches and yards because Moss draws coverage away from him, Moss had 1 catch today and was a non factor while Wes had 10 catches for 105 yards.

Wes went over 100 receptions for the third straight season. The only other player to do that was Marvin Harrison. He has already passed Harrison's three year total.

In the meantime, the Carolina defense backs ridiculed Randy Moss' playing ability after the game today. They basically said that he wasn't trying, wasn't running his routes, is afraid to go over the middle, and quits when he gets roughed up. They praised Wes Welker - basically as the opposite of Moss.

Praise for Welker and criticism for Moss. Thanks for the heads up.

Did Moss 'shut it down'? Panthers say he did

As ridiculous a week as the New England Patriots have had, even the team's 20-10 win over the Carolina Panthers was lined with controversy. After the game, members of the Boston media spent time in the Carolina locker room at Gillette Stadium and asked several defenders about the overall effort of one Randy Moss(notes). New England's elite deep receiver caught one pass for 16 yards, which he subsequently fumbled, and Tom Brady's(notes) interception was a Moss target. Albert Breer of the Boston Globe wanted to know if there was anything more to Moss's disappointing performance -- perhaps something similar to the way he used to walk through games when he was a member of the Oakland Raiders?

Cornerback Chris Gamble(notes) said that getting Moss all pouty was part of the game plan. "We knew he was going to shut it down," Gamble told Breer. "That's what we wanted to do him. That's what we did. ... He'd just give up a lot ... Slow down, he's not going deep, not trying to run a route. You can tell, his body language."

Safety Chris Harris(notes) concurred. "You get physical with him, and I don't want to say he quits, but he kind of doesn't run the routes the way they're supposed to be run," Harris said. "If you get a jam on him, he'll just ease up. He had the one catch, and he fumbled. ... We stayed on top of him."

Lest you think the Panthers were teeing off on the Pats after the fact, their respect for fellow receiver Wes Welker(notes) was universal.

"They're two different breeds," Gamble told Breer. "Welker's just a tough, hard-nosed guy. He got hit and he got back up. I can't see Moss getting hit, catching slants, getting banged around, and getting back up."
And Harris' opinion of No. 83? "He's a backyard football player."

Welker caught 10 passes for 105 yards and remained productive even as the Panthers rolled more coverage to him. Because as Gamble concluded, "We know from watching film on Moss, once you get him out of the game early, he's gonna shut it down."

Moss has six catches in his last three games, a month after being shut down almost completely by the Jets' amazing Darrelle Revis(notes). With all due respect to Revis, one player is even better at keeping Randy Moss from helping his team -- and that player is Randy Moss. Not exactly what the Pats need at this time. Moss revived his career in New England after quitting on the Raiders because New England was a great team full of great players who were also leaders. Now that the team is in transition, it seems that Moss won't step up. He'll simply shut down.

Great read for any dwf that thinks Welker is only successful because of Moss. Even after a game where Moss only caught one pass and fumbled, and Welker had 10 catches for over 100, their excuse would be "The defense was so intent on shutting Moss down that it opened up things for Welker" or "Teams were triple covering Moss and it left Welker wide open"

Many things in the article disprove that, mainly the part about the Panthers rolling out more coverage to stop Welker, yet he still remained productive.

So the Panthers dedicated a whole backfield of affaletes to Welker and they still couldn't stop him? That isn't how it's supposed to work. Maybe ol' Wes is pretty good.

Chris Harris called Wes a "backyard football player". To folks familiar with black lingo, that is the ultimate complement.

Naaaaaaah. He's the product of a system because Randy Moss gets double coverage.

That was a joke by the way. That argument is BS because it makes the assumption that Randy Moss is the ONLY receiver in the NFL who ever gets double covered. Theres quite a few receivers who get double covered, yet you don't see other receivers putting up the numbers Welker puts up.

Thats how it is for white skill players (besides qb). When they put up amazing numbers, theres always the "yeah, but..." or "if it wasn't for..." or in this case the "any receiver in his situation could do that".

It's now abundantly clear that even the ultra out-of-touch mainstream sports media has accepted that Wes Welker is a top 5 NFL WR...and the MVP on the Patriots.

What's annoying to me is how they always manage to preface their glowing praise of Welker with their little caste wordplay. In Welker's case, every single sports "writer" feels the unyielding desire to slip in the word "slot" whenever describing him.

It's like an unwritten rule for describing white success at the WR position....akin to the caste system as a whole, white praise must always be attributed or linked to something synonymous with "less athletic than blacks." That is, running short routes that don't require nearly as much speed and leaping ability. The DWFs have fully accepted this "slot"Â￾ lingo, and repeat like the little mocking birds they were intended to be.

Wes Welker, when all is said and done, will be the superbowl MVP of a championship team.

But when they engage is caste speak that is a perfect opportunity to engage in practical politics. Simply rebut them with something short and simple and leave it at that. When some sniffer issues those stereotypes all you have to say is something on the lines of this, "that is caste speak", and leave it at that. Don't argue with them, but plant it into their programmed pshyce.

If Moss wants to give up they should get rid of him for a bunch of draft picks so they can draft some talent for the defense (REAL TALENT) There is a guy sitting at home that could fill his role in Matt Jones. 6'6 4.37 speed who was misused in Jacksonville, yet still was on pace for 1,000 yards the year he got suspended. Moss looks like an average receiver when has to run slants and the types of routes Matt Jones had to run. Id love to see Jones used as a deep threat and to his full potential with a great qb throwing to him.

Moss is a very good receiver but he is inconsistent. Some games he comes to play and others he doesn't. Welker is always giving it his all on the field.

Moss has always been a pussy when it comes to running over the middle or takinga hit. Blacks have mastered the art of going down easy and none do it better than Moss.

Sound advice. Sometimes the sports discussions you can get into with friends doesn't always lend it self to long winded explanations of the screw job done on white athletes and so your advice to say "that is caste speak" is a good idea.

Gentlemen,

Regarding the phrase "caste speak." Would people know what that means?
Would it end a discussion or would it continue it?

Yes but if the natural follow up comes when the person asks what do you mean by that, you have a opportunity to tell him what "caste speak" is. It's Wile's term anyway, so I will let him explain his reasoning more.

People wouldn't have a clue as to what "caste speak"Â￾ is anymore than they would have knowledge of the Zebra Killings, which I had to explain to an extremely well read person not long ago.

If the Pats had won the Super Bowl two years ago, Welker would probably have been named the MVP. Unfortunately, Moss was not much of a factor in that game, having caught only 1 pass. In fact he pretty much disappeared that post season. Just Randy being Randy. Welker tied a SB recod with 11 catches.

Out of curiosity I checked the post season stats of the Patriots that year. Believe it or not Welker caught more passes than the entire receiving corp (not including backs) combined.

Wes totalled 27 grabs, the rest of the crew - only 24. When the going gets tough Wes is the go to guy if you have to move the chains. He always shows up.
