Well I guess being called a fullback is better than what they called him last week when he was running the ball, they kept saying "back up fullback". Someone said he was injured? Does anyone know if he is alright? At this pace he should definetly crack 1,000 yards if the coaches keep giving him the ball. I knew he would finally get into that groove he had, like in the Jets game in 2008.
He was already doing good busting off nice 10 yard runs the first 2 games, but once he finds his rythym and runs a little looser he starts getting bigger runs. If he does get a decent amount of carries, I think he might get close to the record, for yards per carry for a primary runningbackin a single season (one with at least 100 carries). The way he runs, he already averages 4+ yards per carry without breaking off a 20+ yard run, but now that he is breaking off big runs that goes up to 6.5, I think he even averaged 7 ypc at one point in 08. Im not sure what the record is, I know a white man is 3rd place with 6.03, Hokie Gajan.
edit: just looked it up, Mecury Morris is 1st with 6.4 and Barry Sanders is 2nd with 6.13 and Gajan 3rd with 6.03. I really think Hillis can get around that, not only does he have the speed to break off big runs, he always gets positive yards even on plays he should lose yards, and gets yards after contact. He might not get 6.4 but I think he can get around 6 ypc for the season.Edited by: snow
