Prissy 18th century social rigidity with 21st century wokeness, you might as well have Jefferson running with his Quadroon concubine all over Paris...

Do younger watchers know that this is Alice and Wonderland stories or do they feel this is historically accurate? Note to lurkers and younger posters a Mulatto could be free but he would never mix in these social circles, unless he was serving drinks or cleaning stables.

Another Netflix movie that needs to have a warning before you watch it.

None of the current series are much good, so I'd sooner watch older ones like The Bourne Identity (1988).

You know, a decent series I just watched is Jericho. Now it is by no means perfect, but themes of liberty and individual rights against and oppressive government resonate. It only lasted about a season and a half; in hindsight with its themes it is not hard to see why.

And seeing the Gadsden flag prominently featured at the end of the series was great!

The Decades TV channel has what they call the Weekend Binge where they play nothing but one show from the past all weekend. This weekend they're paying something called Sledge Hammer. I'd never heard of it. It's a comedy show that sends up cop and detective shows. It's actually pretty funny.

This may be true. I've seen some very ugly non-whites in commercials.

One of the Communist Party's stated goals is to make all art ugly. I don't know what the purpose of that is. Putting ugly people in the media may be an extension of that policy.

Dexter, Spartacus, and Vikings were the last TV series' I watched.
My DVR records Tucker Carlson's show and Expedition Unknown; I watch, listen or fast-forward through them whenever convenient.
I have not watched NBA or college basketball since the mid-1990s, haven't watched any NFL in 6-7 years, and finally dumped college football last season.

Why even watch modern TV shows and movies? Almost all of them are badly written tripe filled with anti-white propaganda.

There are enough TV shows and movies from the past to last a lifetime. Why not watch those instead?

Some smaller stations are showing very old Tv series. Medic, starring Richard Boone, dramatizes real medical case. Public Defender does the same with actual legal cases. Both are from the 1950s. I can recommend both.

I recommend watching the series called The Last Kingdom as it's a historical fiction series based on the late 9th century English kingdoms and the wars with the invading Danes/Vikings. So far I'm halfway through season 2 and not one episode is boring and most episodes are violent and graphic.

Hey all, we have many threads which discuss movies, commercials and the like, but a forum for TV series that we recommend, loathe, or just like to watch is absent.

Many of our younger posters and potential posters are fans of a variety of fare on networks and streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, etc., and it would be nice to have a forum that CF posters can talk about what they watch. You can't tell me that every poster sticks just to sports and political commentary! I know that some don't watch the "TalmudVision" at all, but I'll bet the vast majority have their favorites that they indulge in.

Of course, being aware of the messaging being stuffed down our throats makes many shows unpalatable, but that awareness also brings with it a certain level of immunity which lets us enjoy a good story, and it can be an opportunity to point out these things to others who would otherwise not notice. Sure, we can always do a beatdown on a series for its racial, gender or sexual flaws, but sometimes even the worst of these has a good premise and a compelling story to watch, and I'm sure that many site readers do.

Personally, I prefer to watch shows on Netflix, or a BlueRay/DVD because I can't stand the commercials. We can discuss the halcyon years of good 'ol Americana, but in aiming for the younger demographic, modern shows might be more fun to talk about.

Just to get things started, one of my absolute favorite shows that I've watched over the last few years has been Breaking Bad. Extremely well-written and even better acted, the story of a man struggling to financially care for his family is diagnosed with lung cancer. As a high school chemistry teacher he knows he will not be leaving much so he falls into the world of drug production, methamphetamine, to build a "nest egg". If you have not watched it, you should. It helps that there is no racial pandering, feminist empowerment or homosexual promotion, like many modern shows.

An excellent series, from the first episode to the last.

It has Vinny Jones and Giancarlo Esposito both of whom are typecast but they’re great in these roles so who cares

Check it out if you have time , it’s well done .

Will check out as I liked the same titled movie quite a bit. And it seems Theo James, who I rate highly as far as actors go, is the lead in the series. Good recommendation.

Has anyone else watched The Chosen? A series based on the Gospels and very well done. It’s refreshing to watch a show where the lead actor is a strong self assured white man and all of the other white actors are treated with respect and not clowned on

I finished the gentlemen and would highly recommend it. There will definitely be a second season which will likely be much weaker (no one can ever let a series end when it should, it would seem), but season one is good TV.

Anyone watching The Penguin on HBO? It's an eight part series with just the finale episode to go this Sunday night. It stars Colin Farrell, who is completely unrecognizable as the Penguin due to the scarred up facemask and body padding he wears for the character. His voice is completely different, too.

Cristin Milioti plays the other main character, who was thrown into prison by her mob family father on false murder charges and after leaving prison kills her entire family with the exception of a young niece by poisoning them with carbon monoxide. Milioti had a bit part as one of Johnny Sack's daughters in The Sopranos for those into such trivia.

Takes place in a totally corrupt and devastated Gotham City, with Farrell's character plotting and scheming to take out his underworld rivals and emerge as the kingpin. It's a very dark show, all the characters are despicable and murders abound. But it's well acted and somehow I stumbled onto it and will see it through to its conclusion this weekend.
