The Lions also have Brandon Pettigrew, who was the first tight end drafted last year which means years and years waitingfor him to develop. It's far from clear that this is a good opportunity for Scheffler. I can think of better teams he could have landed on, we'll have to see how it plays out.

That is the one team I'm praying Gerhart does not go to.

Pettigrew is loved by the local media and DWF's due to his one big catch in the Thanksgiving day game. He is considered one of the future bright spots. But I think he's injury prone and the Lions throw to the tight end a lot anyway. It's a good move for him I think. Casey Fitzsimmons just retired (concussions) so there is room for him.

Stafford will love Scheffler. Pettigrew is a different kind of a player, less of a pass catching TE/WR

Or the Cowboys, Steelers, Jacksonville, Denver among a few others!

The local media has been talking about Gerhart being available for the Lions who do need help at the RB positon. Actually the Lions are one of the more recent teams to feature a white running back- only about 40 years ago- Steve Owens.

That, unfortunatly, is very true. The Steelers also were the last team to feature a white running back for a few years, Merril Hodge, only about 20 years ago already.

- until Caste King Cowher came in and "fixed" that.

Unless one counts the few carries given to one of the forgotten greats of the college game, R.J. Bowers. R.J. was at one point the all-time leading rusher in the history of college football. But we all know what that gets you when you're white.

Besides Jason Witten and Owen Daniels, Sheffler may be the most talented TE in the NFL"¦he's certainly the most athletic. Nothing could be worse than wasting Sheffler the way the Broncos have throughout his brief career. Despise his great stats and clutch catches, Sheffler wasn't even considered a starter"¦the do-nothing, chubby Daniel Graham was the "official TE."Â￾ The treatment of incredibly productive white skill players is proof positive that winning is not the chief concern of the NFL owners and coaches. No, nothing matters; accept for the racial makeup of the team. The premier priority is the creation of an artificial perception that blacks are superior in all walks of life.

The Lions are a pass-happy team, and like Jax said, Pettegrew has already been injured in his brief career (he is a "tough"Â￾ black athlete, after all).
