His rhetorical flourishes are great, but then consider the context of where he made his remarks. He was in Alabama, at a rally for Luther Strange, who is running for the U.S. Senate. Strange's opponent is Judge Roy Moore, one of the most principled conservative leaders of the past generation. Strange is a RINO, a reliable stooge for Mitch McConnell if elected. Trump has endorsed Strange and is doing everything he can to get him elected. Yet another betrayal of what he promised in his campaign.
He sided with the far left on the Dreamers, and even The Wall has been all but forgotten at this point. Action is what counts, not words. Here's Ann Coulter on that issue:
