I actually think White athletic stamina got this win as much as the Falcons handing the chance to tie the game on a silver platter to the Patriots. There is a reason why Blacks don't have much a presence in rugby and all African teams wilt in the second half in soccer. Athletes from West Africa have a poor genetic disposition for stamina. Look up national running records in countries with all West African populations and they are state level times at the mile and longer. To see 300 pound tackles too winded to rush is understandable but the corner backs were winded late in the game and became a few steps too slow to cover the receivers.

That said if Falcons play calling was at the Patriot thinking level the game would have been probably sealed with a field goal after either a fullback quick hitter or two or a fullback quick hitter or qb sneak when the Falcons had the ball at the 22 yard line of New England. Most likely a scenario similar to the Dallas loss to Pittsburgh in SB XIII would have happened as even with a 2 point conversion the Patriots would have still needed an onside kick and a field goal to tie the game.

I think fatigue played some issues later in the game but I caution that slant. The biggest reason the Pats were patchy in their first half passing attack was the pass rush interrupting things. It also paints the picture that white skill players can't beat black DB's unless they are fatigued. You can bet if the Falcons secondary was mainly white fatigue would not be a media focal point. The headlines would focus on the "white" secondary not being "athletic or quick enough" to handle the " black" wide receivers. As far as I'm concerned the Falcons were just overmatched from a physical stand point. Pretty basic like Amendola makes a quick shifty move and the black CB got burned. And imagine if they had Gronk?

Bill Maher, who went on an expletive-sodden rant about Brady, Belichick, and Trump before the game, looks like a fool once again. Here's what the ugly, mean-spirited little Jewish loser wrote on twitter when the Pats were losing big...

"Good to see Belichick writing Trump another fan letter on the sideline. Like the way Falcons just ran over these *************."

Whoops! Wait until the game is over to gloat!

With a little bit of variance Tom Brady could have 9 or 10 rings. A lot of seasons came down to essentially just 1 play, either in the Super Bowl or AFC conference championships that would have decided the dominant SB team. On the flip side he easily could have 0 rings, if just 1 play didn't go their way in each of their wins. So I guess it works out just about right with his 5 rings.

Many in the old stream broadcasting are offering fatigue as the reason for the Pats win. Some may accept and parrot this, but perhaps as many will nay say. That argument is a double sided coin. Is there any factual evidence that blacks and whites have greater or lesser endurance capacity? Our doubting minds must be very critical of such a presumption.

What opinion can we offer with greater certainty? The team's success is mostly in the hands of the quarterback as he has the ball and executes the plays; his mind is matched with the head coach who helps with decisions. Brady and Belichick have proven themselves unequal and unmatched under pressure. Who can match their preparations? Fear of failure and the mental chaos from a threatening comeback caused the Atlanta team to lose focus and concentration leading to their fall. How many times do we see the same thing in most sports?

Cooler heads and stronger minds, with some luck, prevailed.

To me stamina is a positive attribute for an athlete. Without this ability there are so many sports you can never do at the world class level because it's a basic requirement. It's just in North America many of these sports aren't popular.

I agree if say it was 87' and say Scott Case and Jeff Donaldson were in the Falcons secondary the media spin would have been about the secondary not having enough speed or explosiveness.

The whole fatigue angle is a trash excuse for the complete failure of the afflete-laden Atlanta defence - and either way stamina is an important physical skill, there's no point of being able to run a 4.40 40 if that drops to 7.40 in the second half of games. I've played two seasons of football as a WR/CB and often played both ways for most of/the full game, and this is played in Australian summers so temperatures were often circling 40 degrees celsius (about 105 fahrenheit). I don't have exceptional stamina, but it really wasn't that hard to play through games unless you get hurt.

Stamina comes down to work ethic and its obvious we're better in that regard. Atls affletes should put in more time jogging, biking, swimming, etc in the off-season instead of going clubbing. I don't think Pats solely won because of stamina, but it no doubt played a factor. ATLANTA'S defense was noticeably a step slower in 2nd half while our superior athletes rose to the occasion in crunch time.

I think the Falcons overplayed for Edelman and Hogan which hurt the Patriots early. Brady wasn't sharp on the longer passes which didn't help. So Belichick went to his "other" receiving options to make the Falcons pay for covering Edelman and Hogan too tight. The result was the ball was spread around more and there wasn't the domination from Edelman and Hogan that we expected.

All I have heard today is how great Brady is. He can win with a guy (Edelman) that would be a 4th or 5th option on any other team, and a guy Hogan who doesn't even belong in the league. Even Cleveland gave up on him!! It would have helped if Gronk would have been playing. He is acknowledged as a superior talent because he plays a white friendly position and doesn't threaten the caste philosophy.

Yeah, I saw upwards of three dozen members on at different times and a couple hundred visitors. The Super Bowl thread alone received about 5,000 views yesterday, so that's pretty decent traffic.

I left my TV on the local NBC affilate after the news, and lo and behold Edelman and Belichick were just on Jimmy Fallon's show. He treated them great and the New York audience gave them a standing ovation and were very loud in cheering for them the whole time they were on. Was cool to see.

The stamina issue, when I tuned back into the game it looked to me like Atlanta was dropping back into a zone they were so far off the receivers. Anyway the left is discrediting the caste system, so troll them and encourage the stupidity to continue.

What I seen of Blount was pretty bad, I thought he was a power back but the times I seen him he looked as if he thought he was that rare bird who can actually take the ball laterally for some distance before getting upfield. Hint to BB; trade for Zenner he will fit in your committee approach.

A butt clown at the Milwaukee JS wrote that White should have been the MVP well if that is the case then Jordy Nelson and his 149 yards in his appearance should have been in consideration. Jordy got his because he was the third receiver and got third receiver defense attention and of course he made his plays, I don't even remember if the Crawfords adjusted after Driver left the game. White made his plays, but was he the focus, I doubt it.

I apologize in advance for having limited internet skills or I'm just too stupid take your pick but unlike a lot of posters here I can't direct you to an important article in The New York Daily News January 28th edition by Ebenezer Samuel (He looks Asian to me) who dives head first into the three white wide receivers of the Pats. He has done his homework as well because he points out the only other team that has more than one white receiver is the Packers with Jordy and Janis. While none of the article will strike anyone here as revolutionary it does go the extra mile in discussing the caste nature of the wide receiver position (which I have mentioned numerous times is my favorite position by far in football). It has a few minor pitfalls but I was impressed with the breadth of the discussion and he even referenced Clemson WR Hunter Renfrow which impressed me. All in all I give the piece a passing grade but we should keep in mind that too much media emphasis on these matters could have a net negative effect and cause a backlash to some degree. The media could end up marginalizing white players even more if the main thrust of the discussion centers around the notion that a team is popular with the "rednecks only." It is a tricky balancing act but I think as it is now things have been moving in a more positive direction and there is no better advertising than white wide receivers performing heroically on the biggest stage in football. All I have ever asked for is better representation and even though the latest college recruitment classes are pretty bleak when it comes to wide outs I sense that perhaps the overall sports community is slowly coming to realize that whites are being stereotyped out of certain skill positions. As I said before and I know it seems a bit silly but I think the people who drew up that Cam Newton Buick Super Bowl ad made a conscious decision to insert a white pee wee wide receiver because guys like Edelman are becoming part of the NFL fabric. My guess is if this ad was made in the 90's the pee wee QB would have been white but the WR would have been black.

Pretty good article for the MSM aka FNM, but factually off. There are many short or average height black receivers in the NFL just as there are many short black running backs; and Edelman ran a 4.4 coming out of college in addition to his quickness. So the Patriots have two very fast receivers in Edelman and Hogan, and also elite quickness with Edelman and Amendola (the latter of which the article mentioned).

I'll feel a lot better when these "daring" articles start to get into the recruiting process and the scouting services and the sickening institutionalized racism that is practiced against White football players. As good as that article is in a way, it still practices "equivalency" -- that Whites and blacks are still stereotyped and all Whites have to do is work extra hard to get the same opportunity that blacks do. You can't begin to solve a problem until the root causes of it are identified, and there are considerably more than just recruiting that go to the heart of Amerika's race dilemma and why there is a Caste System in sports.

Super Bowl fun facts: Sunday's game drew a smaller audience than last year's game, with an average of 111.3 million viewers. What stands out to me is that means two-thirds of the country didn't watch the game, pretty impressive given that it rivals Christmas in the hype the media gives it every year. The highest ratings were in Pittsburgh, where 57.9% of all TV-owning homes tuned it. I was probably the only one of those 57.9% rooting for New England. :D

This is an excellent suggestion for the Patriots. Unlike Blount Zenner doesn't have a history of fumbling.

I didn't watch the game, just snatches here and there.

Did the Falcons start using prevent defenses after they went up so high? Prevent defenses do nothing but prevent you from winning.

A couple of black Patriot players are boycotting the White House trip.

The weak-minded and obviously brainwashed Devin McCourty and Marcellus Bennett:

“I’m not going to the White House,” McCourty told Time magazine. “Basic reason for me is I don’t feel accepted in the White House. With the president having so many strong opinions and prejudices I believe certain people might feel accepted there while others won’t.”

What a frickin' tool...

Shadowlight I just found and read that article. Really good piece and hits at the heart of the caste system whether intentionally or not. Thanks for making us aware of it. Here is the link for anyone else who wants to read:

Thanks Leo for the article redirect. And Don is correct about the many average sized and short black wide receivers currently populating NFL rosters. The Patriots on some level is constructed the way sports teams used to look like. Belichick to his credit runs a team that focuses on teamwork, hard work and sacrifice. The wide receivers of the Pats play off each other in a very disciplined way. That doesn't mean they don't have talent like Mike Golic suggests. We discussed fatigue here but the Falcons DB's were probably showing signs of mental fatigue as well because the Pats whole receiving operation is a ruthless, mentally focused
tireless machine. They just don't let up. They ate up the best D in the league(Houston), took care of the "tough" Steelers and nearly gained 500 yards through the air on the "youthful speedy legs" of the Falcons. Guys like Golic are stuck in that toxic ESPN mindset where the "black super stud" is talked (drooled over) about and shown endlessly on highlight reels to the point of exhaustion. But isn't it fitting that the many black me me me look at me WR's that ESPN worships--- think Antonio Brown as a poster child, are sitting home without a Super Bowl ring. Makes you wonder about coaches who don't think the game through like the brilliant Belichick. Too many GM's and coaches are so focused on getting the spoiled brat (with all the measurables) black wide receivers who are thinking more about their salaries, glorification and highlight reels than anything else. And the coaches get lazy and design their whole team around appeasing these pricks. But as this years Super Bowl proved you can't always win in that fashion. Score one for the good guys.
